Kind of wish I did my research before coming here. This is part of the Edgewater Public Market with the entrance on the outside by the main entry to the market. I ordered online and hoped for the best! I didn't know it was part of a food hall. Sometimes food halls are known for charging extravagant prices without the food matching, and I truly feel like that was the case here. My bowl was just about 90% rice and 10% topping. There was little to no fish in the bowl, and I paid for an extra sauce and it was still so dry! The quality of the fish wasn't the worst, but for almost $18 for a three protein bowl.. it better seem like there are three in there. Barely seemed like there was one! I do not recommend coming here for poke. read more

This is an awesome, fast poke place in the Edgewater Marketplace. My go-to is the poke salad bowl with tuna (salmon is a close second), spicy aioli and all the toppings. Everything is fresh and delicious. And, they give it to you in a portable bowl to take out into the food hall, brewery or bar to enjoy. They are a bit challenging to find. Their store front faces the front of the building, not the main food hall. If you enter from the parking lot, you'll see Mugi's sign. The entrance is on the bar side, not the brewery side. read more

Okay so I've never had ramen before. Which is crazy because I've lived in big cities with high quality food/authentic restaurants. So because this was my first time eating ramen, I cannot compare it to other places. I'm giving 4 stars because the place didn't "WOW" me. But overall, the ramen was delicious! I ate all of it. I ordered for pick up. My order was ready within 15 minutes of placing it. Spot wasn't too busy for a weekend night. Ambience was okay, place was extremely clean. Staff was approachable and friendly. I ordered the Shio Ramen and it came in a plastic bowl that was pretty sturdy and difficult to open, but that's cool. The shop itself is small with no seating. A little difficult to open but that's a good thing for takeout. The ramen was good and filling. The pork belly was fall apart good and plenty of veggies and such. Would definitely recommend this place. They have a pretty decent selection if pike toppings and also offer rice bowls. The broth of the ramen comes separate, so nothing gets soggy. Last night I went to edgewater for a quick dinner. Craving sushi I got a poke bowl from here. Immediately I was turned off by what I ordered. I got a small poke with salmon. The rice was piping hot and started to cook my salmon.. the salmon also was very fishy tasting which I know is a sign of not quality meat. I returned it and asked for something else which was the chicken karage. I thought safe bet let's do fried chicken. Unfortunately this is no better. The batter had appeared to have freezer burn so I'm unsure how long this chicken has been frozen. Inside the meat was awful and breading terrible. It was doughy yet super hard due to the freezer burn. I've had this dish before at places but this one you should avoid. It's a shame when you can tell a business does not care about their quality. I gave 2 stars since they let me replace my item.. but that next item was just as bad. read more

I was not expecting much from this place because it's inside Edgewater Public Market so they don't have to offer a great product to get business; however, I was pleasantly surprised by their poke bowl. All their bowls are build your own. I ordered the medium bowl (~$13) with salmon. The medium comes with 2 scoops of protein and it seems like you can choose unlimited toppings and mix ins. I chose to add avocado (+$2) and got an entire half avocado! The salmon was fresh and the house sauce was tasty. The portion size was also decent. I was also happy they had Ito En iced green tea to go along with my lunch. I can't speak to the ramen or other menu items they offer here. I have had some really good ramen in CA and Japan before and tbh don't expect much from places in Colorado at this point. I don't plan to order the ramen here but would return for another poke lunch bowl. I see a lot of negative reviews about the service here but I experienced no issues. When I walked in, another customer was choosing their poke bowl items at the counter and someone else was paying at the register. As soon as the cashier finished with the paying customer, they came over to start taking my order. Then as I paid, the other staff member helped the next customer that walked in. No excessive waiting. They may have resolved whatever service issues were had in the past. read more

I'm what they call "Ramen Obsessed". It's been within the past 2-3 years that my obsession has become real, so in seeing the Mugi Ramen stall at Edgewater Public Market I knew it was a must try. However, I'll be honest I was a little disappointed in my experience. Here's why: Upon entering the space, it took a good 5+ minutes for the woman behind the counter to acknowledge my presence, despite being the only customer in the area. So, I took to the large menu on the wall to explore the offerings and headed to the counter to order. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes - from poke bowls and Japanese rice bowls, to fresh appetizers and ramen - making it insane hard to narrow down, because everything looks and sounds delicious! However, I was there for said ramen and opted for an order of the Spicy Miso Ramen - at the suggestion of the woman behind the counter who finally said hello. She handed me a buzzer to notify me when my order was ready (I chose takeout for later, because my belly was already full from sampling everything else!), which it did about 20 minutes later. I checked back numerous times thinking ramen wouldn't take THAT long to make, but no. That night, I heated up the broth and noodles before diving in and found my dish to be insanely bland despite having 3+ pepper notifying me of the spiciness level. I found myself adding extra seasonings and sauces to make the broth actually taste like something, with no such luck. The noodles and pork belly were good, but everything just felt a little thrown together - especially for $14! It could have been an off day or my fault for waiting so long to eat the dang meal, but not sure I'll return anytime soon. read more

Possibly the best ramen I have ever had - and I've had some good ramen. My son had the creamy chicken ramen and loved it. I had the tonkotsu. The broth was aromatic and delicious. The delectable char siu pork practically melted in my mouth. The toppings were plentiful and all very tasty. The egg was done to perfection and definitely the best I've ever had. I loved the generous serving of menma, those tender, tasty, seasoned bamboo shoots. The tonkotsu is the only one of Mugi's ramens that has white noodles instead of yellow egg noodles. I don't know why, but I have no complaints. The noodles were plentiful and tasted good, especially with all those toppings and the luscious broth. My son had originally gone to the Edgewater Public Market to get crepes from Moontime, which closed early for some reason. After feeling so let down, this ramen had to be really good to get such an enthusiastic reception. Highly recommend for the ramen! read more

I was very excited when I saw them open up as I love it when a new ramen shop pops up near me. However I was disappointed. Karaage, hirata bun, ebi yaki, and tonkotsu Ramen was ordered. Nothing stuck out to me. The karaage they give you thai chili sauce instead of spicy mayo. They didn't marinate the chicken beforehand so very bland. The bun was overly drenched in teriyaki sauce so overly salty and you get very little pork belly. The ebi yaki was decent as I don't see ebi yaki at many places, so I enjoyed that the most. The ramen was also very disappointing. Very very little chashu, compared to a lot of other ramen places. The noodles broke very easily. They have NO sign on one if their doors stating business hours, we made the huge mistake of opening that door and walking in. Add that to the sticky refrigerated noodles that have been thrown into a microwave and you have the worst $14 ramen since college. The appetizer was not only cold but also ungenerous.
