Not kid friendly at all. No water cups no kid menus. Not even a kid size ramen. This neighborhood is filled with families, I am honestly suprised they don't cater more to their clientele. They have lunch specials that looked interesting but there weren't a lot of veggie rolls that looked appealing because I can't digest avocado and veggie sushi options are less common. I got a cucumber roll and some of the veggie sushi the nigri, mushroom and eggplant. I would love to see more options but these were pretty good and made a nice light lunch for a hot day. The service was very good and the food was prepared well. Veggies are less expensive than fish but just these four small items made with simple ingredients were $20. But despite a good exterior impression, turns out it really is the inside that counts and even though salmon sashimi is my favorite, turns out they only had smoked salmon that you can buy from Costco for your bagel except it was a trillion times saltier than I expected. We come here very regularly and always eat in. We love that it's not as loud as some of the other places around! The servers are friendly and we love supporting this place. They go out of their way to be attentive. I have some allergies and admittedly can be picky unrelated to allergies, and the staff accommodates me every time. They even recognize my husband and I and are starting to get to know my order! The cocktails are great too and a solid price for being on Tennyson st. I want to like it so much because the service really is top notch and the ambiance is good, but the food is what I would expect from a sushi bar, nothing more. Happy hour is a dollar off regular rolls, which makes the California Roll Price Index comparison somewhat favorable at $4.50. The rolls are slightly on the smaller side, but they are not rice heavy, which I appreciate. I haven't had their nigiri, primarily because I think it is a little overpriced and really good nigiri is hard to come by in Denver. Not exaggerating at all, I've never been served "miso" like this, ever, anywhere. Total fail. I ate half the sushi and decided from the weird nasty flavors that it might not be safe to finish it and decided to make my own supper and throw away $65 worth of "food". Seriously, f___ this place and these people, they should be put out of business and then flogged and maybe fined a bunch of money, staked out over an anthill, and more. Godawful. Did I mention that my experience was very bad and not good? Is there ANYTHING else I can possibly say to dissuade you from giving these asshats your hard-earned money? The service here is great! Came in on a very busy night with a group of 15 plus 2 kids. Both servers were on point making sure we were good and kept our food coming out as fast as they could. I'm only giving 3 stars because the all you can eat option is too filling! The AYCE sushi has A LOT of rice. It's hard to eat $35 worth when all you're stuffed from rice. We frequent other AYCE places and get our money's worth but we definitely did not here. The fried rice is pale, unseasoned and terrible cheap textured. My chicken katsu was (no joke) 13 pieces of grilled chicken and 1 i repeat (one) piece of broccolini. I have been ordering take out from Sushi Bay for years. YEARS. So, I think I owe it to the restaurant to give a review. Let's just get this out of the way - If you are looking to be pampered and blown away by the restaurant design, incredible service and very high end sushi then you will inevitably be disappointed in Sushi Bay. I don't come here for that and neither should you - go to Uchi or Sushi Den. The restaurant is not in pristine condition - there is currently a hole in the ceiling when you walk in. Admittedly, not great. I wouldn't rate the ambiance particularly high if you're here for dine in, so be warned. However, the food is consistently good, which to be is very important. So, for weekly sushi take out at reasonable prices - this is it. This is should be your go-to spot. My go to favorites: sushi dinner, spicy crunchy scallop roll, red dragon roll (!!), monster roll, Broncos roll and Kobe beef roll. We have tried basically all the rolls at this point and these are the ones we get 80% of the time. I think for the amount of times we have gotten food here and the quality CONSISTENTLY being what it is - I just have to give them all the kudos. When we lived in Lowry for two years I would sometimes order from here and make an excuse to come across town just so I could get my sushi bay fix. read more

The place is not super big but I have never encountered a super long wait or below-average service, and the fish is always extremely fresh. An intimate neighborhood restaurant. This sushi place is a fine addition to Tennyson. If Sushi Bay was in any other large city in America, then it would be 5 star sushi. The problem is that Denver is tied for the best sushi in the U.S. with NYC and SF, so with place as good as Sushi Den and Izakaya Den, it is hard for a sushi spot to shine. We've gotten the stuffed jalapenos every time, and their yellowtail seems to always be fresh. I recommend the the seared tuna and the Spicy Girl Roll. Yum! I eat sushi every here and there mainly cause we're in colorado and fresh fish is not fresh unless you're on the coast in my opinion. I just searched for a spot near home and found Sushi Bay. I called and made a reservation since the pandemic I feel they're almost required.
