I have been going to Shobha for almost a decade now. I've tried other other Brazilian wax places in the city before but nothing really compares to their service. Clean space and friendly reception staff. Their aestheticians always wear disposable gloves and they use disposable sticks. They're quick, but always do a good job. Have things gone downhill? I am shocked at all the five star reviews. Went here because European Wax Center was not able to take me as a walk in and a colleague said only good things about this place. Unfortunately was not that impressed and will not be back. For the same amount of money for a waxing I will just go to European Wax Center. I decided to go to someone who is new to Shoba to get the 20% discount (they only take tip in cash--they have and ATM machines that charges $3 fee). Perhaps a bad decision. They claim the person has had experience elsewhere and is merely new to the store. I chose to take the risk. My mistake! I have a very high pain tolerance for waxing (or so I thought?) but this waxing experience was actually incredibly painful and slow and long. I am used to very efficient ladies doing a quick job that minimizes pain from the process. My technician today was slow and was not quick enough with her hands to reduce the pain. However, she was very kind and attentive and had a good bedside manner. I will not be back. read more

I've been coming to Shobha to get my eyebrows threaded from Shashi for yearsss she use to be my girl and this use to be my salon ! Unfortunately that has changed. My eyebrows USE to be great. She use to do a fantastic job, she definitely lost her touch. The last few appointments I have had with Shashi have been horrible. She has gotten very rude and snooty. They say age does that to you, I guess that is true in this case!!!!. One eyebrow is great. Perfect shape. My other eyebrow.. not so much! Noticeably thicker with no shape. I asked if she can take a little more off and she snapped at me very rudely with such attitude. I went home and tweezed the remaining hairs, my eyebrows look way better now. I shouldn't have to pay 34 dollars for eyebrow threading from a senior stylist PLUS 10-15 dollar tip to get yelled at and to go home and tweeze my own eyebrows!!!!!! Shobha has definitely lost it overall !!! Same products. Same scene. All the employees are elderly woman. They keep the salon looking fun and hip with so many colors, and your esthetician comes out and she's in her 50ths. read more

I used my coupon for a free Brazilian, and also got a leg wax. Very clean and bright space, friendly staff, and efficient waxing! Reasonable prices for NYC and in a very accessible area of the city. I've been a regular at Shoba Columbus Circle for the past two years. Previously, I hopped around the $7 threading salons but couldn't find a threader I was satisfied with. I was so fed up with my mismatched eyebrows that I finally googled "best threading salons in New York City" and decided to treat myself to a birthday eyebrow thread at Shoba. Originally, it was supposed to be a one-time cleanup since it is pricey ($22 a thread). However, I was so happy with the experience and the results that I kept going back and haven't been able to stop! It is a luxury since it is over double the average threading cost, but it's worth it to finally have a go-to eyebrow spot. While Shoba is definitely cleaner and more professional than other threading salons, I wouldn't necessarily recommend Shoba if you already have a good eyebrow threader since the price is so much higher. However, if you were like me and desperate for a good threader or need some major eyebrow therapy, I would recommend giving Shoba a chance. If you decide to become a regular invest in the 6 pack option which would drop the price per thread down to $18. I dinged one star because they are almost always behind schedules. Granted I usually come during rush hour (lunch time or right after work) I always make appointments ahead of time. 90% of the time I never see the threader on time and there have been times where I have had to wait 15-20 minutes even with an appointment, which is completely unacceptable. read more

Today is my first day in New York. Do I unpack my stuff? Go grocery shopping? Nope! I go get a Brazilian! Isn't that what everyone does?? Shobha was a very relaxing environment. I had an appointment with Jamuna and she was great! She made me feel very comfortable (well...as comfortable as you can be when you are getting the hair in your nether regions ripped off) and was super friendly. I just moved from California ... the motherland of bikini waxes...so the prices were a bit high compared to out west. But..they do a great job here and make sure every single hair is taken care of. From the get go, I was getting good vibes from Shobha on Broadway. The appointment was for a last minute Brazilian wax because I just can't plan for pain. The appointment was made without a hitch and they happened to have an opening within 15 minutes. I happened to be 10 minutes away so it might have been fate. That, or a real yearning to have the delicate hairs of the nether regions ripped out by a robotic esthesician. I admit, it took me a while to find the door since there was scaffolding surrounding the building. Once I walked in, there was no question as the security guard took one glance at me and said with a smile, "Shobha?" In response, I said "How did you know?" Again, fate. My ripper outter person was business as usual and proceeded to point me to a room that was colorful and thank goodness, a real room. I've been to places that don't have walls that reach all the way to the ceiling or floor and you can hear the ripping and the inevitable "Arggggg". Here, I was groaning in silence, except for the ripper. She was robotic and knew what she was doing because I'm not sure what I did on that table other than make grotesque faces at her. I wasn't a big fan of her for that amount of time, but I am now. She however, had no emotion and I was looking for some sympathy. C'mon, just a look would have been sufficient given the action going down there. The place is clean and cute. I love the no- double dipping policy and the latex free gloves. Go for the policy. Go for the all knowing security guard. Don't go if you want someone to commiserate with your pain. They are all business here. A bit pricey compared to my other waxing spot but the fact that they don't double dip is almost worth it. read more

Ok, that's IT! I am done with this place. The first time I went there I bought a package of 6 eyebrow threading visits and it has taken me 9 months to go just 5 times. Why? Because every single time I walk in that door I'm assaulted by the overpowering scents. It gets worse every time I go! Every single time I go there I'm in complete and utter hell with watery eyes, scratchy throat and the sneezes. Today I reached my limit and demanded a refund on my last unused visit so I wouldn't have to suffer again. I complained about the overpowering scents and was told that they only use natural scents. Just because you use natural scents, doesn't mean you are using them naturally! It smells like the perfume section of Macy's during holiday season, and that is NOT a compliment. The spa manager needs to take a lesson in moderation. For the record Rizwanna is great, but it isn't just her threading ability that counts as service and I shouldn't be suffering the entire time I am there. It's been an hour and my throat is STILL scratchy. I hate them. read more

Now I'm not a prude or nothin, but I never really considered writing a review for so, ahem, delicate a service. However, I regard what I am about to say as more of a public service than anything else. I'm a regular of the SoHo location and have nothing but positive things to say about this company in general. Calming (if slightly overwrought) atmosphere, courteous service, complimentary tea, and a reassuringly rigorous protocol when it comes to bikini waxing. I trust my bits to no one else. There is one person, however, to whom I will never, ever expose my privates again, and that is Amina/Imina/Ameena/The Devil, who works at the Columbus Circle location. For starters: a brusque, loud voice that prevailed throughout the ordeal, much to the terror, I'm sure, of clients just outside the sliding door. Up next, a complete disregard for the many comforting little touches that Shobha aestheticians typically provide. No paper towel under the shirt, no gentle puff of baby powder, no threading, no inquiry as to whether the wax is too hot. In fact, the wax was too cold, resulting in what I will only describe as very unpleasant tugging and a sense of impending doom. Now, on to the waxing itself. I've been doing this bi-monthly for five years. I am no stranger to this particularly cruel variety of pain. But this woman had every muscle in my midsection clenched so hard I can still feel it two hours later. She gruffly instructed me to relax, because, she informed me, "I know it has pain but I try to do fast." Whatever, lady. I ended up with a Brazilian, which I didn't realize until I got home because of the tearing in my eyes whenever she shoved the mirror between my legs. I would like to conclude by saying that I'd rather wax myself blindfolded with nothing but a roll of duct tape than go back to Amina. Go to SoHo, where the professionals are. read more

I have experienced the good, the bad and the ugly of bikini waxing. (If we're ever sitting around, bs-ing over drinks ask about the ugly, it involves popsicle sticks and baby oil.) Shobha is a pretty waxing/threading/sugaring salon with three locations. I have gone to this one and also Shobha Madison and have had good experiences at both but I prefer this location because you're in actual rooms as opposed to Madison where you're in a cubicle sort of thing with temporary walls. The technician I used switched me to sugaring which is so much less painful and left way less irritation, which is key. They thread the strays at the end which I appreciate. Also, they sell this exfoliating cloth that I'm crazy about, so even if for some reason I decided to go somewhere else for waxing, I'd still go back whenever I needed to replace the cloth. So why four stars even though I'm raving about Shobha? 1. Threading F'ING hurts. It's like someone sticking little needles into your skin. Ouch. Ouch. Some warning please. 2. Did you really want to know what your *ahem* looks like 5 times it's normal size? (Ladies. Guys, I know you do.) At the end of each waxing session they hold up a magnifying mirror to your newly waxed *ahem* and though I am definitely not a prude or body conscious at all, I'm just never really prepared for this. For awhile, I felt that this place was out of my price range, but because of their credibility, I decided to check them out. They also have a coupon going on now for 20% if you set an appointment with a new specialist. Anyway, on to the details: The facilities: If you're a germ-a-phobe, this place is perfect. Extremely clean, not even a towel was on the floor. The waxing rooms (at least the one I was in) had a calming atmosphere and wasn't cramped. My experience: While getting ready for my session, my waxing specialist decided to stay in the room, which made me a little uncomfortable, but I guess for her it was nothing. She wore gloves (not all places do) and they strictly adhere to their "no double-dip policy". The waxing itself was partially tortuous because I let my hair get way too long (my monthly visitor just kept appearing at the most inconvenient times). My skin also flared up pretty bad from the irritation, even with the pore closing cloths she put on afterwards. The brazilian....virtually painless? Try virtually PAINFUL! Again, I waited too long and it's not like this was my first brazilian, but that didn't make it hurt less! Also, we ended up doing some threading in the most least likely place you can think of, but when you're hellbent on making the world a less hairy place, you make sacrifices. I ended up paying about $130 for my "happy trail", brazilian and full legs (that's including tip) and honestly, I hoped for better. Why? Well, let me continue: It's been (give or take a few hours) one week since my waxing and I decided to examine my "bare" body. Other than a few ingrown hairs, I should not have seen so many patches on my legs. As for my brazilian, there were a few patches also. The verdict: Great facility that is located in a clean and safe are, which probably explains the pricing. In terms of being "hair specialists", they get an 8/10 and I doubt me using a master would have made a difference. Also, and this is partially my fault for not paying better attention to the website, they need to tell their staff to inquire BEFOREHAND whether or not their clients have any allergies :-/ I'm allergic to chamomile, the main ingredient in their wax, which is probably why my skin got so red and bumpy. Today was my first time ever having a brazilian wax. I did my research and found this place. Just like any other waxing, it is painful, but I thought as my first time, the pain was bearable. The lady (Jamuna) was very helpful and informative. She did a good job and made sure it was less painful for me. The place is very clean and nice. I also love the atmosphere. Upon walking into the room where I was to be waxed my first thought was definitely, "Oh my god, if I make any kind of sound, everyone in this salon is going to hear me.." The salon is tiny and the rooms where the Brazilian magic happens is only feet away from where people are getting their eyebrows done. Gulp. Luckily, I didn't make too much noise... I have to say, for anyone that could put up with how anxious I was and deal with my nervous blabbering during my first bikini wax definitely deserves a medal. Sima was the lucky beautician that got to deal with me and she helped me through what might've easily been a traumatic experience incredibly professionally! I'd expected the whole waxing thing to be as painful as what I'd expect childbirth to feel like but it wasn't nearly as terrible as I'd imagined. While a few times I flinched Sima was fast enough so that the pain or the anticipation of the pain wasn't too terrible. I had to give Shobha five stars, despite how much difficulty I have in remembering how to spell it, because of how (relatively) painless and unawkward this whole experience was. I appreciate how Sima was pleasant and friendly enough to make me feel comfortable even as she had me lying spread-eagle on the table in front of her. I will definitely be returning! read more

I visited the Columbus Circle store, and it was just as hard to find as I'd read about in all the previous Yelp reviews. Luckily I'd done some extensive Google Map research, so I managed to get to my appointment on time. The salon seemed to be relatively empty, with only a few women getting their eyebrows threaded. $20 for eyebrow threading seemed a little over the top, especially when there's a salon next to my school in Harlem that does it for $5. Anyway, I came for the full leg and Brazilian combo -- go big or go home, as they say. My waxer's name was Kavita, and she was friendly enough, although I couldn't help but feel that the conversation was more of a "customer service requirement" rather than a genuine "I'd like to get to know you" one. But whatever, it's not like I was there for the conversation. The Brazilian actually didn't hurt as much as ones that I've had before -- probably because she put SO much powder on before she started waxing, so the wax didn't pull the skin as much. Great! Halfway there, right? Unfortunately, the leg wax took about forever and a day. Boo. Then came time to pay... large BOO. This was definitely a splurge, and it wasn't even that great of a splurge (I prefer handbags, denim, and/or Tiffany jewelry). Guess I'll have to do more research to find a more student budget friendly place... read more

The building is under construction and the entrance keeps moving, so after walking a full square block i finally made my way in to the zen that is shobha. Upon entering you're hit with a lovely calming fragrance and offered water or tea and i always take a milk candy...or 8. it's very clean and reasonable considering the prices some places charge. word of advice: ask for rizwana. read more

Is Shobha expensive? Yes. Is Shobha clean? Yes! Can you get an appointment easily? Yes. Can you make your own appointment online? Yes! Can you expect a fast (under 15 mins for full brazillian), THOROUGH (yes, legs up in the air, ladies!), relatively pain-free (sugar) wax? Yes!!! I've never had good experiences with brazillians before-- either they left too much hair, didn't do the back, took too long, went over the same areas repeatedly, and/or were just too expensive. Shobha isn't the most expensive though-- plenty of women swear by Bliss or J Sisters and pay a lot more-- I've been going to Shobha since April and I'm totally satisfied. Rizwana is speedy, gentle, thorough, and professional - she always trims and finishes up with threading for a very nice, tidy job. Best part: I dont get painful ingrown hairs anymore (I use their exfoliation cloth, expensive but the best cloth I've ever used). This type of maintenance isn't something to mess around with... the benefits outweigh the pricetag- Rizwana, we have a long future together. read more

This was my first time back to Shoba in many years. I had my eyebrows tinted & threaded. I'm extremely pleased with the results but not the experience for 3 reasons: 1. The girl dropped the dye in my eye accidentally. 2. No one could tell me or show me what ingredients were in the dye. 3. Her breath smelled awful as she was breathing over me to perform the work. I am awaiting them to contact me regarding the ingredients in the eyebrow dye. Not sure I would return. 6/17/17 I returned to Shoba this month and was very pleased with my service. After contacting the manager I received a very nice email of apology as well as the ingredient list I requested. My next service was complimentary and I received excellent eyebrow tinting & threading. I will certainly return. read more

Amaaazing! I never thought I would be one of those "I love to wax" people, but I am converted. The waxers are polite and clean and take their time to make sure every single hair is gone. (N.B. Stray hairs left after waxing are threaded.) The prices are probably a little bit higher than other places, but I absolutely love going to my waxer here. She's friendly and makes sure that I am comfortable at all times. Edit: I second the "not-great" threading experience. While I've only gotten my upper lip threaded here, I think it's totally painful and not worth it (money-wise). While they do take off all noticeable hair, they don't wear any gloves which is bad if you are a super germo-phobe like myself. read more

You know how they say beauty is pain? At Shobha, it's as close to painless as I've ever come. If you're not a fan of waxing, try sugaring, it hurts a lot less. I've found that threading is a much less painful way of keeping my brows neat then waxing ever was. I'll only see Jamuna, who is both efficient and very nice. Love the cleanliness of the location and that you're always offered tea or water upon your arrival. The decor is really bright, has a strong Indian influence and always cheers me up. Make sure to allow time to check in with security downstairs before coming up for your appointment. If you're going to be a regular, buy a six-pack, it'll save you a ton of money if you intend to make 6 visits in a year. Don't forget to bring cash for tips. I like that you can tip anonymously, by putting the cash tip in an envelope with your specialist's name and slipping it into the tip "mailbox". read more

I have experienced many waxings before (some even on my kitchen table...true story). My experience at Shobha was one of the best. I hadn't been waxed in awhile because my trusted esthetician changed careers, but I was going on vacation so a Brazilian was a must. After reading reviews here and the fact that they had been voted best bikini wax of 2006 by NY Mag I was sold. I didn't get any hair bumps (which is usually a big problem for me). The no double dipping is great (which you take for granted). I found the idea of threading the loose hairs exciting, but after having experienced it found the threading a little painful and I'm indifferent to it as opposed to tweezing. The reason I'm knocking a star off is the price. Would I go back: yes, but only when I can splurge. read more

I've been coming to Shobha regularly for at least two years (maybe more) for my Brazilian waxes. I'm completely loyal to the place and have never had a wax anywhere else in NYC (and the two times I had one elsewhere while out of town, all I could do was compare it to Shobha and be disappointed). The Columbus Circle location is immensely convenient and a nice, quiet oasis in the city for a few minutes. I LOVE Jemuna. I don't want to be waxed by anyone else (and the only waxes I have ever had at Shobha with which I wasn't completely satisfied were when Jemuna was on maternity leave. I had a couple of fine ones with another technician and one single one that I didn't love with another, who I just made sure to not get the next time). Jemuna is great, quick, and thorough. She's also great with threading out any random, elusive errant hairs at the end (which can be a touch tricky with me, I know, since my super dark hair beneath my super pale skin is often visible and seems like it's above the surface when it's not). She makes the process about as painless as a Brazilian can be. And I get so few ingrown hairs now. I'd recommend her to anyone! And while a completely nice place, their waxing services aren't that expensive comparatively. Many other places in Manhattan cost more. And there's the bonus at Shobha of buying in bulk (in six packs). read more

I've been going to Shobha every other week for the past.. wow 3 years now. I come here for the brazillians and eyebrow threading. I really love the girls here. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience or poor worker. Most of the secretaries know my name and all of them are very polite. My favorite waxist was Miranda, but she left *tear* so now my usual is Rachana. But you really don't need a "usual" here. They're all excellent at their job. When I first came here, I was petrified about the idea of getting a brazillian but it's not bad at all! My friend says I'm just desensitized for getting one each month for so many years, but I've never thought it was that bad. If anything, sometimes I find eyebrow threading more uncomfortable (only because it's so close to your tear ducks that you tear up easily.. I have very watery eyes) than getting a brazillian, but that's just me. I definitely recommend this place, though. It is a bit pricey, although I've seen much more expensive brazillians in the city that don't offer a post threading session once they're done with the wax (so they get all those tiny hairs the wax may have missed). Plus if you get a 6-pack, it really lessens the price tag. But if you're nervous about getting waxed for the first time, I think this is the place to go. It honestly is NOT that painful (I took my friend, who was petrified, but she left perfectly fine and wants to go back for another one!). read more

I LOVE SHOBHA. I especially like this location, which seems to run a bit more smoothly (get it... smoothly. ha) than the others. I'm always taken promptly and I always feel well taken care of. I have had particularly great experiences with Jamuna, and would highly recommend either of them. Honestly though, I've never had a bad experience at either location that I've visited regardless of who my waxer was. I'd recommend staying away from Promilla and Kavita, who tend to be inconsistent. Trust me, I never thought when I began waxing all those years ago that I would actually claim to "love" anyone who committed such vicious acts against my most private of parts. However they do it as painlessly and as well as they poooossibly can. Worth the price. read more

The place is beautiful and very clean but its way too over priced. i came here because of the great reviews and i really liked the place, the staff is nice and attentive and the wax ladies are very jentle. i did the brazilian waxing with the sugaring which is less painful and natural. the overall experience was great except for the bill. it was $70 no tip included. if you can afford it i saw, come here! but i will not be coming back with so many other places around he city that are very clean at half the price. read more

This is a tough one. I was finally able to set foot back in Manhattan and was dying to get properly groomed before heading back to Toronto. Unfortunately, i missed my appointment at Maria Bonita with Regina and desperately phoned in for an appointment. The receptionist was super friendly, and gave me directions and fit me in within the hou with kavita/revita, something along those lines. Finding it was a little disorienting, but once you arrive it is relaxing. Again the receptionist won me over with her warmth, and even gave me some of theire rose towelettes to try for free ( it was humid). I decided to throw in threading, which was a breeze and looked amazing. However, when we went to waxing my enthusiasm quickly waned. I tried to explain to her that i wanted a brazilian and full leg. She refused to give me a brazilian because apparently, women don't wear pantyliners for cleanliness, and she was convinced I was on my period. I agev up and settled for the leg wax. Again, she didnt wan't to give me sugaring becuase it was my first time with her, though ive been waxed a thousand times. WTF? Maybe it was the language barrier, or her coldness, but i acquiesced solely to get out and lamented my misfortune. Perhaps I'll try the other location before completely writing them off, but for now I'll stick to what I know. read more

"She cut my eyebrows!!!" I ranted to my sister as soon as I left this place. I wasn't happy about it at all, and felt hard done by. As well as the fact that despite being told threading doesn't hurt it DID...I definitely had tears in my eyes! But by noon the next day, after I'd gotten two compliments on my brows and checked out some just taken snapshots I realized how shapely and neat my brows were! I went to Shobha for an event and had the option to choose a service to try out. Shobha offers a wide range of hair removal treatments as well as some additional beauty options such as tinting of eyebrows. The variety of selection for removal really allows for a tailored approach to each customer, whether traditional waxing, sugaring (a gentler alternative to wax), or going the whole 9 yards with laser hair removal. The best part about all these services, and Shobha's philosophy in itself, is that all the products are all natural. In this day and age it provides peace of mind to know it's one place you don't have to worry about what goes on your body. I decided to bite the bullet and have my first session of laser hail removal on my underarms. I was nervous leading up to it but my technician was wonderful. She thoroughly explained the process before we started and made sure I was comfortable. The machine it self was dermatological grade and had an attachment as part of it that blew cool air as the laser worked. It honestly hurt much less than I thought it would, occasional mild stings and we would take a quick break- much less pain than wax. There was a through post-procedure rundown and a day following my hair is a lot finer. I didn't have significant redness from the treatment which thrilled me as I have pale/sensitive skin. I don't often get waxed, but when I do, I want my experience to be as comfortable as possible and I don't want to pay expensive spa prices. I've been looking for a good, affordable bikini wax near my office so that I can pop over quickly (when I'm feeling brave) even on busy days, and I think I've finally found my place! Getting ready for my beachy bachelorette weekend, I've been too busy to plan ahead but needed a bikini wax TODAY. After buying a Groupon for Spa Ela Bonita but not being able to get through on the phone all morning (and not receiving a call back from the voicemail I left) I canceled the Groupon (what good are phone-only reservations if nobody answers the phone?) and found Shobha's Yelp deal for first-timers: $45 for $60. Totally reasonable when Shobha's full Brazilian costs $60. I called in the morning and was able to get a same-day appointment for my lunch break. Promila was my technician. She was so sweet and friendly and made a not-so-fun-by-nature experience as good as it could be. She took the time to ask me exactly what I want, and kept asking to make sure I was okay throughout. (She could tell I'm not a regular, so I think she was extra patient and gentle.) She was very thorough and threaded the shorter stubborn hairs the wax ignored, which other places I've been to in the past have not done. And yet I was still out of there within a half hour! OMG - LOVE this place and didn't even know it existed until my friend Candace brought me here and wow, I'm never going anywhere else. I had my brows threaded, which didn't hurt as much as previously but still hurt more than down below. I have to say that the pain was worth it bc my brows have never looked better! As for down below, they have a special sugar wax that pretty much feels like kittens - seriously, I fell asleep while she was down there, it was that painless. I had Jazwinder (I think that's how you spell it?) and she's thorough and nice and at this point I'm not trusting my brows or bikini line to anyone else! read more

I have been coming to Shobha for years now and highly recommend the salon. Over the years I have mostly seen Sima who's excellent - she's fast and does a very thorough job. This is more expensive than the typical waxing service at the nail salon but you're paying for the service and quality. Hope they open up a new branch in midtown east soon! 'Meh I've experience better' is right. I was very excited to try this place after seeing great reviews for all locations. i let my brows grow in a bit and went yesterday during lunch. The staff was very nice and it was a clean well designed/ decorated place. Very inviting and polite. The woman who did my brows listened to me and was nice. The shape came out well and I was happy with that. Leaving the salon I was happy although found it odd how red my brows were after the threading despite the fact that she did put rose gel and a cool compress on them. Now keep in mind I get my brows threaded ALL the time and only use the threading technique. Once the redness went down I see she cut me in identical spots on eye brow- right under the arch. Now currently I am walking around with small red cuts that are noticeable because they actual cuts (i treated with neosporain). It clearly looks like I have had a botched brow job. i noticed when the threading began that the thread itself did not seem like a high quality cotton, it was rather sharp and stiff, perhaps this was the culprit. Regardless I am upset that I spent 22 and change NOT including tip to have her cut me. I will continue to go to my $6 threading place around the corner because higher prices do NOT equal better performance. Very disappointed. read more

i've finally found my perfect waxing place! I arrived 5 minutes late, but was quickly taken to one of the waxing rooms with a nice, cold glass of water with Rizwana. Rizwana did a great job; I was unsure if I wanted to do sugaring or waxing so she patiently explained the differences between the two methods. I decided to go the sugaring route (which was much less painful than waxing btw!) and she was very thorough and efficient. I highly recommend her! Minus one star for the price/somewhat hard to find location. i know it's not bad at all compared to other places like Bliss and J Sisters, but I still wish it was a tad cheaper, especially the sugaring process. But all in all, I plan on coming back and I'm definitely going to be purchasing the 6 pack next time I go! read more

A couple years ago I had an amazing experience getting my brows threaded by a sweet woman at Shobha. Although they are on the pricier end, they are worth giving a try especially if you are referred by a friend. However, my issue is not with the threading but with a product they sold me. I had purchased what I thought was Truly's All Natural Long Lasting Cream Deodorant and it wasn't the greatest despite the reviews. Since I wanted to give my body a chance to adjust, I would wear it in the evening. A year or so later, the top label has come off and they had actually sold me a Kid's Version of Truly's deodorant which had a perfectly placed label over it. Which leads me to believe it was either Shobha or an honest mistake by Truly's but it means I won't be going back and why I've rated 3 stars. 5 for the threading but 1 for the deodorant with another label slapped on top of it. read more

Made my eyebrows too thin and they are raw :( better off sticking to a cheap place like perfect brows. Right before my vacation :(
