I stopped by here yesterday to find a pair of running shoes. They have an incredible selection, however, they do not carry larger sizes for women's shoes (perfectly normal size 11 here). When I asked the sales rep if they had any shoes in my size, she LITERALLY LAUGHED AT ME. Then she asked me with a shock on her face, "in women's?!". Then she proceeded to tell me that they barely even had the size below mine so I left. I'm not sorry, there are plenty of women out there with size 10, 11 or 12 shoes. It shouldn't be a shock to any shoe sales person. Do better and don't insult your potential customers. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

So haven't been to one of these shops in a long time, I am thinking possibly back when I was in high school. My son was going back to school and I wanted a good deal on shoes, which I got. There is such a huge selection of brands and styles that anyone can find what they want or need. They have Vans, Nike, Adidas, New Balance, ad so many other brands. They also have a few pairs and styles of Crocs which was pretty cool. But, the selection isn't that much so not likely to find your size. We ended up going home with a nice set of vintage Vans which only cost about $40+ tax. It was def a great deal. When we went to pay for the shoes, apparently there is a giveaway where you can win items if you spin a wheel. My son really enjoyed that and it looks like the employees do to. The man at register was cheering my son on which made it more exciting. Unfortunately, we did not win a free pair of shoes but that's okay. Wow.. Came in on a Sunday.. it was pretty slow .. we were the only people in the shop. 2 young ladies "working" Not greeted. Ignored. Young lady employees gossiping. Walked in here with my spouse to kill sometime before the Superbowl and to try and find some heels for a wedding. When we walked through the metal carousel, my spouse split off from me to look at the Men's section and I made a beeline for the heels. The woman who worked there started following me around, hiding behind displays, but keeping an eye on me. When I finally got uncomfortable enough, I turned to look at her and she immediately said, "You were in here yesterday." I responded, "This is my first time in this store ever." She insisted that I was there the day before. You'd think I'd remember that... I tried to joke that I'd be interested in meeting my doppelganger, but Ive definitely never set foot in that store before. Got two left sides of a shoe... How inconvenient. Workers were a little quick to get you out. They seemed pretty unenthusiastic; maybe they were just tired. They do have a nice inventory, however, it's just not neatly displayed and set up. Looks very messy. Today 8/21/2021 at around 2:30ish I went into the store and there was this young girl helping like 3 customers at a time and I was one of them, when she finished helping me & I was ready to checkout , I didn't bother telling her I was ready Because there was an older male there at the register . The young lady went to help other customers who needed her help, however the man in the register checked my shoes and instead of charging me he calls and bothers the young lady instead . Which it was so rude of him because she was helping out other costumers and he could have charge me but he was just being lazy and not helping costumers. So unprofessional of him!!! Went in to purchase a pair of shoes with my girlfriend and was not greeted nor helped throughout the time we were there. Once we had the shoes picked out we went to select socks in the women section, the man working there approached us and started telling us the socks my girlfriend was looking for were located in the front (Men's socks). He kept insisting we were in the wrong area (Women's) and to go to the men's. At first we were confused, then we realized he was basically calling my girlfriend a man. We never once asked him for male socks or assistance with socks, I feel it was very rude and disrespectful for him to insist we go to the men's section. It must me my attitude. I entered the store and asked for dress shoes. Selection is scarce, and I rummaged through the meager selection. So why five stars you ask? Well a very helpful young lady at this store came to my rescue. In the past I had thrown out great shoes, due to the failure of the insole. In fact I was wearing a pair of $100+ shoes that had become uncomfortable to wear. She fitted the shoes with new insoles and they once again felt like new. For a modest $10 now now had a great pair of walking shoes. The inexpensive dress/casual shoes I purchased ended up being very comfortable and well fitting. I go in, not greeted, but followed up and down the aisles. When I start to look for my size then the older man finally comes up to me and asks me what size I'm looking for, when I tell him what size I'm looking for he asked me if the next size up is too big, yeah no shit it's too big that's why I'm looking for the size I asked for? He walks away and I continue searching for a different style of shoe and I'm followed by yet another staff member and once I finally pick out a pair of shoes and I bring them to the register they are so grossly upcharged that I had to walk out with nothing. You really have to provide really crappy service and or product for me to post a 1 star review. Especially when I've already made one visit to a particular establishment leaving relatively satisfied, only to come back swearing to never return. But when you have management or employees who are there to push the customer into purchasing something they don't want, that really pisses me off. Nothing bothers me more than a store that acts more concerned with getting a sale than the needs of the customers they are serving. As mentioned, my first visit was decent. Needed a pair of new Vans, saw that this store was close to not only my home but work as well, and stopped in on my lunch break. Walked in, found a pair I liked, tried them on and was happy. For 30 bucks, not that bad...especially when going to Vans, you would pay at least 15 to 20 bucks more for the same shoe. Didn't get any assistance from any of the people working here because I really knew what I wanted and found it. Today's experience was the complete opposite. Simply put, those shoes I bought wore out quite fast (I had a hole in my shoe the size of a quarter). Not blaming Shoe City at all for my shoe's condition, since I do work at a place where I'm on my feet a majority of the day. But I came back because I was pleased with the selection and prices. Being how the kids just headed back to school, the selection was picked over...bigger sizes were not available in a lot of the shoes. This is where the problem started. I asked the gentleman (rather tall with glasses) if they had any bigger sizes in the back. He walks over to me and asks what shoe to do I want and what size. "These ones in a size 12", I said pointing to a particular style. He looks behind the front row and says they don't have any. Then he asks me about another shoe and if I like that one. I politely said "not really" and yet he continues to go through the back and pulls out a size 12, hands it to me and says "Here you go"...then walks away. Truth is that I didn't like the shoe he gave me because of the look and the cost (shoe I wanted was $29.95 and the shoe he gave me was $45.00). I ended up finding a pair I wanted for $29.95 and walk over to the checkout line. The same man says "next customer", I approach the counter and hand over my shoes, and all of a sudden he walks away. WTF??? It's service like this that I will not support. The attitude of the management here is not about selling shoes people want, it's simply about moving product. Payless Shoes provide a better service than this place...at least they take the time to find a shoe, size your feet if need be and make sure you're happy with what you're buying. There's no connection between the customer and customer service besides "What size?" and "Will that be debit or credit?". Sorry I'm going somewhere else. read more

I've been to this store 2-3 times previously and was a satisfied customer. The last time I even won $20 worth of shoes on the wheel. I bought a pair of name brand tennis shoes the end of March, didn't wear them much, and in September the soles became detached from both shoes! Clearly a defect. They would not give me a credit or refund due to the 30-day return policy. I understand refund policies but I think exceptions can and should be made occasionally, especially to a frequent/returning customer. Both soles coming off a barely-worn pair of shoes at the same time is certainly not a normal occurrence. The surly and unsympathetic employees gave me the number to the corporate office. I have been shopping for my kids shoes here for years. Now that my kids are bigger they have limited selection in size 13-14. The store promotion is a wheel spin for every purchased shoe. We spun and the wheel landed on the $20 at the nail going into the next number. But it didn't cross the line. Of course the cashier said that it didn't apply. And if it landed at the nail going into the $20 it would have counted. All of us know that's a farce and they decide based on their judgement. The way the wheel is there is no way it will land right in the middle. My advice don't expect to get anything out of the wheel since they will change the rules on you. Even with that said I was extremely unhappy with the customer service. The employees acted like we were an inconvenience shopping there. $183 for three pairs of shoes. Do not pay with Credit or Debit card, they will try to charge your card twice, it happened to me and 3 others in one day, lucky for me my bank was on top of it even before I was...The old man pulled my CC out of the machine before the transaction was finished and they had to do the whole transaction over....I thought something fishy was going on, but when my bank called an hour later they had attempted to charge my card twice for the same amount....Also my shoes rang up $20 more than the posted price , before taxes, all of this and I find out the same thing happened to three other people the same day leads me to believe that this is NOT a reputable bussiness. read more

It's a good place to find something on sale quick of moderate quality. I was not expecting to see the bad reviews when I was about to write mine. When visiting LB my step daughter needed a pair of shoes so I remembered this spot. We came right before closing on a Saturday. We were greeted at the front door and directed to the children's shoes. We found some Nikes that she liked after digging around for her size. She tried them on and we picked up some socks as well. Prices were more expensive than what I'm used to now in Texas (no specials or b1g1) but it all worked out. I come to this shoe city about once everything three months to buy work shoes and have always had a pleasant experience. Yesterday December 27th,2016 I watched a customer scream at the employee By the name of Kadar. I felt so awful for him!! He remained calm, professional and respectful all while getting yelled at by a psycho lady. The entire store can hear her yelling. Her issue was that she wanted to return an item and get cash back for it instead of it going to her credit card. Kadar kindly explained to her that it is company policy the returned item must go on the same credit card (hello lady, common sense to avoid fraudulent charges).
