I dropped off a pair of Allen Edmonds loafers this week needing new soles. What I received back was unbelievable. They looked brand new with amazing Italian leather soles and a spit polish better than I've seen before. Edmonds has a program that allows you to send them back to the factory for a refurbish. He is kind, understanding and more than obliging when it comes to my "special shoe requests"... My special needs child normally requires a leg brace to correct her left foot, but Rafi was able to modify her favorite boots to fit her ankle to be used without her brace! Yesterday was my first visit ever to a shoe repair shop because my favorite stiletto heel's top lift had been worn out. I didn't want to get a new pair because these shoes are my most comfortable high heels I have and don't want replace them with a new pair. I'm usually very picky about who I bring my Louboutins to, however, Rafi really helped me replenish my Louboutins! The heels were really messed up because of normal wear and tear and them accidentally getting stuck in between curb cracks. He also replaced the red bottom sole for me so I have a better grip. He also cleaned up the patent leather for me when he didn't have to as well! I will definitely be bringing my other pairs back to him for repair if ever needed! Walked into this establishment today to inquire on repairing a pair of leather wedge-heeled sandals. The owner quickly inspected my shoes and told me it would cost $50 to glue the strap back on each side, of each pair! $50? really, man???!! I obviously thought that was very overpriced and prepared to leave, when he asked "How much were you expecting to pay?" I said, maybe $20 total, but at that point I was actually ready to leave.
