First and foremost I would like to commend the store manager Jay! The last time I went in was right around Christmas when the 11's dropped. I didn't really care to get a pair for myself but I got there early for other shopping and stood in line in hopes of getting a size 7y for myself. When I was up next he kindly asked what size I needed I explained their was miscommunication with being told I didn't need a raffle. He didn't pay that any mind and was more focused on getting my size, he immediately said he had my size and said they would help me out and ring me up. I wasn't expecting to get the shoes because while in line I was told I needed a raffle. So he made this such a pleasant experience. They must've had a bit more than expected youth sizes. Today I call and ask if they have Air Force ones size 13 and I spoke to a gentlemen who was very pleasant and had amazing phone edict. He was able to locate a size 13 and told me they would hold them for me until my brother was able to get there. I asked for his name and it was Jay again! The assistant manager, Arianna was so amazing and attentive to my wants and needs. From the moment I walked in she greeted me with a smile and enthusiasm. She immediately came to aide me, when no one else did. I have trouble looking for shoes in my size, (I'm a size 12 in women) and I don't like having to buy more "masculine" shoes. But Arianna was so helpful, even though they didn't have any women's shoes in a size 12. She found me a size 10 and a half in a men's shoe that fit my style and want. I rarely ever write reviews for retail shops, but I have had consistent excellent service from this particular shoe palace and ontario's. The guys were go over and beyond making sure you're happy with your purchase, or at least ensure that you're satisfied with your experience here even if you don't end up with a purchase. I stopped in yesterday and snagged a pair of the Jordan 3 retro's in crimson. Got mine for $79 CHEOWWWW. For some reason, the sizing for this particular shoe seems snugger than my other pairs so they were nice enough to keep swapping all sorts of sizes, even tried sizes off the other color just to see if there was a disparity in size--on their suggestion which I thought was beyond what was necessary. Wish the return policy wasn't exchange/ store credit only but, most of the time, if I buy a pair of shoes I don't like, I easily find something else in exchange. Even better is that I can shop in kids/ youth size so my nikes/ jordans are always way cheaper!! But that's not a reflection on the store, just my small feet :) read more

I've been shopping at this store for many years and never had issues with the management until now. The manager Julia and her employee Jose are extremely rude and unprofessional. I take my special needs brother to this mall everyday to get out and Julia and Jose ASSUME I'm a reseller and denied me black/white dunks.They sold to someone else while I was in the store when I had already asked for a pair and was denied. They told me I'm "wasting their time and mine" by trying to purchase items from there and basically said I was "banned" for NO REASON! I cannot even complain to the district manager because they are friends with Julia so my complaint will never reach anyone! Walked into the store at opening yesterday in hope of getting some Jordan 1's. Spoke to a employee named Castro I believe. Super cool guy told me that I could come back at noon to buy unclaimed pairs, there would be no line....I come back around 11 to find a line outside. I walked into the store where I met this "manager". I asked him nicely what the line was for and he said to get the unclaimed pairs. I then explained to him that a employee of his said that I wouldn't have to wait since I was the first there technically to ask. He replies, in this exact words: "I don't give a shit what my employee told you. I'm the manager and I run this shit." I was in shock because I did nothing to provoke him nor did I ask what position he is. Not only was that uncalled for but also extremely rude as he yelled at my face I front of other customers. Terrible customer service and return policy. My wife bought some shoes for me for Christmas and they didn't have my size. They talked her into buying a size smaller saying that they will stretch. Well guess what, they don't fit. When I tried to get store credit, they said that it was down. (WTF?) They told me that their Ontario store had the correct size. I went there and they weren't in the store, apparently the inventory was incorrect on the computer. The store manager said he would order them and have them sent to West Covina by the next Friday. Called them on Sunday to see if we could pick them up, they don't have them. They will not give us our money back because it is against store policy. It seems that their policy is to convince you to buy the wrong item, jerk you around and waste your time, and keep your money. Don't give these crooks your money. I am very upset with this shoe store. I have been shopping at the West Covina Mall for over 20 yrs and I have never experienced customer service like this. I went into the store Shoe Palace and ask for a shoe size for my son. When I get the shoe, I noticed that the sole was unglued and completely popped out. I asked a young lady for a different pair but the same style since I was planning on purchasing it. The guy at the cash register, guessing he was a manager of some sort because of his attitude, said "That's how the shoe comes! Take it or leave it," and that someone else will take it! It wasn't like I was asking for a discount!.... SMH. I went to another shoe store since I didn't want to buy the shoes from that man after hearing how rude he was.
