    Chicken fried rice
    Georgie M.

Started the evening with the honeymoon appetizer, followed by chicken fried rice, and finished with the shaggy dog roll as well as the crunch dog roll. The honeymoon gave an initially muted spice, balanced by the cream cheese and crab, but left a pleasant buzz of heat after. Great crunch The shaggy dog was delicious, while the crunch dog was a bit fishy for my taste. Neither rolls were groundbreaking, but the shaggy dog is a great choice for someone new to sushi. The true star of the dinner was the side of chicken fried rice! The chicken was juicy, and the fried rice is a great consistency. Highly recommend With both quantity and quality in mind, the price feels fair. The environment lands somewhere between casual and classy casual. Ultimately, I would give Shoguns a 3.5 on a five point scale.

Shogun Roll (imitation crab - NOT crab as advertised)
    Kelli D.

I eat at several of these in different locations and they are normally consistent in food grade and layout. Unfortunately, this location was lacking in cleanliness, and service. There were wait staff who were asleep in booths, the hibachi grills were covered in dripping goo that was coming from their vent hoods, and the menu was inaccurate. When you list something as crab meat and it turns out that it is imitation crab this is a problem. When you list something as no seaweed paper and then it actually has seaweed paper in it this is a problem. The Shogun roll is not as it is listed on the menu. It does indeed include seaweed paper, it also has imitation crab meat not crab meat. For these reasons I am giving this location three stars.

Great place to gather for large family. Kids always enjoy the chefs. Would definitely keep this place in dinner rotation when in town.

We made reservations ahead of time, so there was no wait, which is always a great way to start a meal. We ended up upgrading to the steak option, which only increased the price slightly and was well worth it. Lunch kicked off with a delicious bowl of onion soup, and before we knew it, our entrees were arriving at the table. The service was impressively quick without making us feel rushed. One minute we were enjoying our drinks, and the next our lunch platters were nestled right between them. The food came out hot, fresh, and well-seasoned. Every bite delivered exactly what I was hoping for. Between the flavorful meal, attentive waiter, and the cleanliness of the restaurant, this visit checked all the boxes. If you've been curious about the lunch menu, consider this your sign to give it a try. For the quality, portion size, and overall experience, it was a great choice and one I'd happily make again.

Alright, y'all know me! The good, bad, and meh. Let's set the scene: a 16 year old birthday with…read morethe family (8 people total). The good: our server was so sweet and helpful! The food was super good! Like everything was really good! It was fairly clean & the menu had decent options. The ambiance was ok, nothing great, nothing bad, just average. Not upscale, it felt casual. One of our guests was allergic to shellfish and they did a mostly decent job of remembering that. The bad: the manager was rude. I asked for our server because we were missing a bunch of items. He was insistent we talk to him, then said well I don't know what you ordered so I don't know if you're missing stuff. Well duh! That's why I asked for the server, SIR. & Absolutely no discount for forgetting menu items is wild. We ordered the 5/6 course meals (8 people total) and they almost forgot our green tea (pass on that by the way), every person's steamed rice was forgotten (the server did offer but it was after the meal.... So just plain rice? No thanks), and I had to remind them of the ice cream. It just felt like such an oversight on the menu. 3/5-6 courses forgotten is wild. The prices. This is way too expensive for what you get. At home hibachi shows are better and the same price. The meh: the show! My gosh y'all this is hibachi, Give me a show! The chef was kind of just mean trying to be funny and the majority of the show was "this isn't butter, it's ice cream" like ok. We get it, you renamed everything. Throw some shrimp, please. Which he didn't, boo. The drinks. $9.50 for a virgin strawberry daiquiri that tasted like straight lime is wild. The dragon fruit margarita was salt somehow? Way too expensive and not great. The water. Omg. Get me some refills, please! There's 8 of us, one bottle goes quickkkkk and they fill it up in wine glasses like 1/8 of the way full. That's a whole 2 sips, y'all. My daughter semi-enjoyed it but I think she just didn't want us to be disappointed. We probably wouldn't come back. Good food, decent service, but the price for what you get is a hard pass. 2 adults and 1 kid with a 20% tip was over $200. Oh and 3 hours. Don't be in a hurry.

Went to komeya today for the first time with my daughter, she got the maki lunch special and I got…read morethe spicy miso ramen. Mine came out later so forgot to take a pic. The Maki lunch special comes with 2 rolls, soup and salad. The soups and salad were a generous side, definitely more than you'd would get with a bento box. The salad was fresh and had the usual creamy ginger Japanese dressing, delish. For the maki bowls, they were a nice size, and are actually the normal sized rolls you would get from the menu for a spicy salmon and eel roll. I thought for price would be simple hand rolls with just fish and rice and wrapper, but these had cucumber or avocado, sauces and nicely filled. Deliscious eel, spicy salmon had a surprisingly different delicious flavor to it and nice kick. For the spicy miso ramen, it's actually their original tonkotsu with miso and spiciness mixed in. The waitress recommended as the best flavor and although I haven't tried any of their others, it did have nice flavor. Creamy, with layers of flavor and a nice mouth feel that coated your tongue with umami. I am a spicy fanatic, so for me wasn't very spicy, but with chili oil available on the table I could increase the spicy profile. The nice thing here is the ramen toppings aren't all extra so a great deal. Came with chashu, 2 pieces, one on top had been fried with an excellent char and crunchiness to it, especially since the crunchy garlic was on top. Also for toppings were corn, bamboo shoots, nori, rice cakes, and half a boiled egg so no nickel and dime for toppings here . Fast and attentive service so if trying to get in and out on your lunch break, no problem. Quaint, small venue in shopping strip. Quiet though so nice to have conversation with your lunch date. I would recommend and definitely go again
