The setup is really cool and gives you a few different ways to experience the restaurant. There's a standing room only hand roll and cocktail bar, an omakase section, and traditional table seating. The atmosphere hits that perfect balance of casual without feeling too casual. Modern, relaxed, and effortlessly cool. Most importantly, the food was fantastic. The sushi tasted incredibly fresh, the entrées were excellent, and everything came out surprisingly quickly even with the restaurant being busy. The staff was also incredibly friendly, attentive, and on top of everything throughout our meal. And be careful with the cocktails. They're dangerously delicious and definitely have some strength behind them! Charleston is a city that knows good food, and Kyn feels like a restaurant that's going to be around for a long time. I ordered the bang bang shrimp roll, which is tempura bang shrimp, topped with shredded crab - freaking amazing! I also ordered the angry crawfish roll, which is tempura shrimp with cream cheese topped with baby crawfish and that was great, but my favorite is the bang, bang shrimp. I will definitely go back and re-order and get another roll, but it was very filling. They have non sushi options as well, definitely try it!

Still tasty, but worth knowing before ordering. I'm glad I doubled down on protein with the chicken katsu which came on it's own plate with dipping sauce. Now that I know what to expect, I'll definitely be stopping in again for dinner or placing a togo order when I'm near Clements Ferry.
