She had a very do-not-care attitude. Sure it was busy on a Friday evening, but I did not appreciate feeling like I wasn't welcome. My friend and I stopped in on a Wednesday evening about 6:15 at the Long Point Rd location. It was pretty crowded with the happy hour crowd. We sat at the bar, which happens to be next to the sushi guys. I requested no rice on my sushi rolls (I realize it is no longer sushi at that point), and they were very accommodating. She had the Steak Tataki Roll, and said it was delicious. I had the Double Tuna Roll (spicy tuna, cucumber and avocado with seared tuna on top) $16, and the Tanaka Roll (spicy tuna, avocado and cucumber with spicy salmon on top) $15. Both were phenomenal! The tuna and salmon were fresh and fantastic! They tasted great, even without rice. The service was great. Everyone who works there is kind and fun. Ambiance is perfect. Not too noisy, not too dark. Parking is abundant, though crowded at certain times. Happy hour is packed, but settles down shortly after. I forgot to get pictures of my rolls while I was eating there, but last night I got takeout, and snapped pics of my rolls. Love Fuji! It is now my go-to sushi place! read more

First thing I love is the outdoor seating. When it's warm it's so nice to enjoy delicious sushi outside. I was lucky enough to catch one of those recently. The atmosphere is very nice and welcoming. I really enjoy the layout of the restaurant where one half is more towards the bar. The edamame and gyoza were delicious and will be a regular must have. I usually get basic rolls but this time I got the ONYX roll which I have never had eel so I was a bit nervous but it was delicious. I also got the Gemini roll which was so YUMMY! I found out too it was named after the waitress we had. Her name was Justine and she was friendly and fast at getting our food out which was a plus. Lastly I tried the ramen bowl the pork belly. Omg it was delicious. I could have eaten it all if I wasn't so full. We had a short wait of 10 minutes (I would recommend making a reservation to this little gem!)...My daughter loves Fuji and we typically go to Basil (which is also excellent but a different vibe and much longer wait on food after it's ordered)...Sorry, got off track! We had the following: Shrimp Sushi with crab- my daughter's favorite. It was a HUGE portion on a 12" platter. Enough for 2-3 servings. Miso Soup- tiny bits of tofu with chopped green onions. Delicious flavor. Enjoyed by all. Steamed Vegetable dumplings-6 portions. We had two each. Great for an appetizer or meal. Soft and plump. Not dried out or overcooked. Shrimp Hibachi with fried rice-they do not cook in front of you. They serve in a large bowl the shrimp and veggies with another small side bowl of fried rice. Everything was cooked to perfection! And the shrimp had a small amount of char that added to the flavor. We couldn't have a better meal! Usually I take photos of the menu, but it's a 6 page book. Besides Dog and Duck, this area doesn't have many choices when it comes to sitting at a bar and watching sports while eating and drinking. I simply wish this place would renovate the bar area and make it more inviting for people to come here for lunch and have a drink while watching some sports on TV. It's just a little dark and closed off inside. This is the reason I never come here although the food is very good and I love sushi. It's just too boring inside this place. read more

My husband and I eat at Fuji quite often. We love the Gyoza and the Hibachi steak! The Bomb Shrimp is great too. The restaurant has excellent fried rice! The employees are pretty good, always friendly. Sometimes the service isn't great but it's always good enough. I think Fuji is a good place to go for an easy casual lunch or dinner. read more

We waited 15 minutes on a Monday night to get seated. The place was popping! It makes me happy to see restaurants doing well on what is usually the slowest night of the week. Our server was very nice, and provided great recommendations. They have so many sushi options to choose from, making it so hard to choose. Ultimately, I liked the sushi we got, but I did not love it. I think I just did not choose the right rolls for my flavor preferences and will need to try a few more before I can give a solid review of their offerings. I will say, I really enjoyed the house salad. The dressing had a peanut, ginger flavor and I could have sipped it straight out of the bottom of the bowl (I refrained). Came through on a Wednesday afternoon craving sushi and Fuji fit the bill! Plenty of spots to sit from a bar area to booths. I was torn between a nice bowl of udon but went with the 2 roll lunch special and cup of miso. Both excellent! Very delightful people to interact with and my water was never empty. We came on a Friday night at 6 and didn't have to wait at all. Our food didn't take long to come out either. We shared the Halloween roll which was yummy and I think 8 pieces for $15. We each got the pork belly ramen and that was $19. It was a very large bowl but I finished it all. The bad- it was a bit bowl of ramen but I still paid about $20 for a bowl of ramen which is a lot for ramen. The sushi and ramen both tasted good but I don't think my meal was worth what I paid. When I poured out my soy sauce a fly came out! They didn't apologize or compensate in any way so I thought that was a little odd. Overall, I think the experience was not worth what I paid. I've had much better experiences at cheaper local sushi joints. read more

This was one of our favorite places to take my son when in town since the food is always great, service top notch, and they offer vegan options. We went on Saturday and not only was our table sticky, but it took a long time to get our drinks. A 20 minute wait for water and we had to remind the waitress we ordered an app that usually takes 5 minutes. It came with ours salads. She shared that two meals were ready but waiting on the third. My plate was so hot I couldn't touch it but my food was dried out and Luke warm at best. Lack of vegetables in my hibachi and my rice was a cold clump. The vibe was very strange. Manager only focus on to go orders and not people dining. Two tables who sat after us were served and done prior yo us getting anything. It took 20 more minutes for us to get a check after requesting it. So disappointed with the lack of management, the food quality, and waitstaff (all very young and not at fault) just trying to get through the rush (and all looked like they were unhappy to be working there). Very disappointed and it will be a long while before trying again, but we do know the turnover will be quick so maybe the next group of staff will be treated better. read more

Serviceable sushi joint off Long Point with lunch specials and wide selection of rolls. Went for lunch recently and found the hostess and wait staff to be oddly cold and impersonal. The restaurant itself has a nice interior--cozy but decent number of tables so there was no wait. Interestingly, sushi bar seating was not an option. My wife and I both had multiple sushi rolls for lunch with miso. The rolls were pretty decent, but the some of the salmon used was very fatty--these pieces were predominantly white and with a muted, sickly tone that didn't suggest high freshness or quality. However, other pieces were just fine. Overall, not bad, but nothing to write home about. Lunch for two was in the $45-55 range. There are other, more consistent sushi joints in Mount Pleasant that offer more bang for the buck, greater consistency, and friendlier service. (2.75 stars). read more

On our return to Beaufort from Myrtle Beach, we stopped halfway for lunch. MY grandkids love sushi so I searched for a nice place. This restaurant with outdoor seating is snuggled in a cute little shopping center. Lots of free parking close by. I loved the decor, lots of wood, Asian touches. The chairs were super comfy, upholstered in a nice fabric. The sushi was fresh, although I would have expected a little fresher than that. Prices are reasonable - $6 California roll, $7 avocado roll, $14 Gemini roll. The Gemini roll was very different: Spicy crab, shrimp, mango and jalapeno wrapped in soy paper, topped with escolar, avocado sauce and spicy mayo. Loved it! The service was good, could have been better, given the time of day (2pm) and they weren't very busy. But the server was pleasant. Would love to go back for dinner and enjoy some wine on the patio! read more

We've eaten here on multiple occasions & live in the area. The last several times the food was not great, but not terrible. THAT CHANGED. Ate there last night and ordered gyzo appetizer and tempura shrimp & vegetables appetizer. The gyzo was burned on bottom & uncooked on top. Tempura was greasy and shrimp was a long stick of previously frozen material. Terrible. Salad, before, entree had to be returned, as it had brown, wilted lettuce. The steak hibachi entree had stale vegetables and steak, that was almost uneatable. The manager seemed indifferent to all of it. She did have another salad made for us, but that came out as we were finishing. I left most of the entree uneaten. I don't know what has happened to a previously good restaurant but this was really, really bad. Health dept bad. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but my last experience at Fuji was nothing less of disappointing. Our server was great! But, when we received our food, my husband, who has a shell fish allergy noticed that the tempura shrimp was kept in our roll. Mistakes happen all the time, we were both servers at one point so we understand. But when we called the manager over (pink eyebrows) she was nothing less of passive aggressive.
