Been coming here for over 10 years now, hands-down best indoor gun range in DFW metroplex. I've brought probably 20+ people here who all call this place home and favorite range despite living 20 to 30+ miles away. Private suites are the best... pulled my original review because this place is so damn popular now I can't even get in here. The "Q less" whatever system seems to be overrun but all in all with the Rapidfire range Nazis at the other places (Eagle has one in Lewisville, probably in farmers branch too and everyone knows the guy at Garland " Mr. slowdown!!" How about shut the F*** up you tubby old cooter, it's just a 22 Long rifle, I think I can handle it) anyway back to shoot Smart, it's a great place they just need more locations so they can put all these other overrated and overpriced places out of business. For the record my original review several years ago said we desperately needed one in the farmers branch area and practically begged you to open on in this grossly underserved market and boom eagle opened a second location in F.B., a year and a half or so ago and now they're printing money out of that place so you gotta strike while the irons hot and be smart shoot smart! read more

Shoot Smart is definitely the best gun range I've been to in the Dallas area. If you come Mon-Thurs, from 2-4, you get to rent a lane for $5 per person! That's the cheapest I've seen a lane go! The service is first class,as is the condition of the range. Can't speak for the private lanes, since i haven't rented one, but the public lanes are all well ventilated and have a electronic target adjusting system with controllable lighting. They even have an electronic queue system so you can get in line while dealing with the traffic on 360! Overall, this is a great range to exercise your 2nd Amendment rights. read more

I've recently attended the LTC class at shoot smart. The class was very well organized and the instructor Jacob was very thorough in his presentation of the required material. I found the class very informative and not dull at all. In all of my experiences with shoot smart the employees have always been very patience and encouraging of the students fairly new to guns. But by the way this is not a class to become familiar with your firearm. I recommend taking the intro to hand guns and trouble shooting classes before taking the LTC class. read more

The place is great as far as customer service...the prices are a little on the expensive side for lanes. The private lanes had absolutely no ventilation so you are...SWEATING...but the lanes are clean and the equipment is great. read more

The sole reason that this place is getting 2 stars and not 1 is because i could call ahead so i didn't have to wait the hour line.... Now to the bad me and the wife go shooting at least every other week and we usually shoot between 500-1000 rounds each this place had no place to put a range bag or stage ammo, the AC didn't work in the lanes to the point i left and it looked like I'd just gotten out of a pool, it was so humid that your Glasses fog up after 2 shots (and yes all of mine are ESS from deployment with anti fog), the evac system wasn't working and it smelled of gun powder (not bad for me but wife didn't like it), staff wasn't all that friendly, and the pro shop has no place to stand for a line. I could keep going but ultimately i wouldn't go to this place again if i was paid for it. read more

Cool place, and decent size VIP Suites to shoot in. The only think that sucks is actually trying to reserve a regular lane or suite. Their Join the Line App. is not very accurate sometimes, and you'll find yourself waiting for a very long time if you're not lucky. Unfortunately there are no time limits and someone can literally be in a suite from open to close, and it's not really fair when you only have 5 suites, and you put your name down 3 hrs before and don't get to shoot on weekends sometimes cause it's so busy. People are pretty cool most of the time. I've been a member for about 3 months now and it has dramatically improved from the first time I came here. They have really well put together shooting competitions, and people actually know what they're doing. I gotta give a shout out to the Gunsmith at the GrandPrairie location, I can't think of his name right this sec, but he is super cool, and knowledgeable. He has fixed countless errors that RifleGear in Plano has done to a couple of my guns. I've never been to the Alliance Ft. Worth location, but I usually go to the GP location 3-4 days per week, so I would say I'm very familiar with this Range. read more

This is a pretty nice range the best part is you can pay 26$ on a weekend for one person and get your own shooting room for the entire day and shoot as much as you could possibly stand! If you want to rent a gun you can pay 20$ and rent any rifle and pistol you wish to try and swap out as much as you like at no extra charge! provided you have ammo for it. The staff is very nice and friendly and they even have nice chairs to sit and relax while you wait for your room . However i do have to knock a star off for no ac on the range itself. Update : ive recently moved to Ft Worth I come here twice a month to shoot. I shoot full auto ,rapid fire , from the holster, speed reloads whatever i want. I always get millitary discount. I got to shoot my buddys gold .50 AE desert eagle i bought a box of 50 rounds from them but since it was very pricey they threw in a pistol rental of my choosing for free! (I got the USP 9mm) . This is the best range you can go to in the DFW area unless you drive an hour + out of town. The only down side is no steel ammo allowed for rifles. They are concerned about fire hazards but i think its because they cant reload the casing's. read more

This is my favorite indoor shooting range in the DFW area. Clean, safe lanes managed by helpful staff. I used a groupon which included a rental gun and the staff encouraged me to try several different handguns until I find my favorite. It can get busy on the weekends but there is a helpful text messaging system so you know your place in line. read more

They had a "happy hour" rate so I grabbed my weapon and headed over. Staff was great prices very reasonable and a gunsmith right there on duty.. great experience! Was here to get first time shooting experience. Mike was very helpful to finalize the perfect rate as we were a group of 3 and we had an option to select Groupon. It helped that the facility wasn't crowded and we got a lame immediately. Will visit again to get the fun of automatic weapons which are allowed only in private lanes. read more

The range and staff is exhalent, but there system sucks. I call for a appointment and 6min later I get a text saying I'm getting removed from the private suite. Call them to see what happened and there like well you have to wait. Last one in line. Call again to set up another appointment and get a text saying I'm next in line and to be ready. 2 min later I get another text saying it will be 70 min. The loose your account and think everyone has all day to wait again. Fix your system or get a new one. read more

Terrible AC. Terrible customer service. LONG waits. Waited in line for 3 and a half hours only to be kicked out by their own computer because it was over an hour since the estimated original time. Absolute idiots. Put me on a list only to tell me i have to be present and come and check in. What a waste of two days

Was there for an hour and a half signed in and on the queue and told when I arrived that three (3) people were ahead of me. After patiently waiting for said hour and a half, went back to the counter to ask how many people were in front of me now and the employee responded, "five" (5) people were now in front of me. To which I responded "what, how does that make any sense?" She then told me that people were putting themselves on the queue online and bumping me back and that it would be at least another hour and a half before I would get in...provided nobody else queued in online again. That system is inherently flawed and makes no sense whatsoever. The employee said that they know this is a problem and a common one at that. And, we noticed others that were having the same issue and were equally as upset. So, in short, we left and will not be coming back. read more

After dozens of great reviews I called the Grand Prairie store to signup for the Take Your Daughter to the Range course this Friday because I could not log into the website to signup. First I was put on hold and then forgotten (I hung up after 6 minutes on hold). When I called back the same individual answered and apologized profusely. After a brief hold I was told that despite the fact that the webpage showed open slots that the course was in fact full. How difficult is it to ensure that your webpage actually reflects the fill status of your classes? Disappointed. read more

Used the groupon and there weren't any restrictions. We went on a saturday morning at 9:30 and it was packed already. There weren't any private lanes open, but that didn't stop us. The regular lane was just fine. We didn't use the gun rental because we had our own. Next time I will utilize the premium rental with the groupon. The staff was very friendly. read more

This is a decent pistol range but not so much for rifles. If you plan on shooting an AK-47 with standard bi-metal ammo such as Wolf or Tula, forget it. I rented a suite to sight in a new AK and after 15 minutes of shooting, they stopped me and said "you can't shoot that ammo because it can make a spark and there's a lot of gunpowder in there". What? I guess the 5 foot fireball from the rife is ok though. So, they tried to sell me some high dollar ammo which i declined. 15 minutes cost me $21. I doubt seriously if I'll shoot here again, there are other options in DFW for rifles and standard 7.62 ammo. read more

My wife and I recently went and found the place great but were shocked to be hit with a damage fee when accidentally hitting the target trolley and knocking it off track. The lady there said they paint those every day so I am sure that fee is collected often. $50.00 for knocking it off track and about 5min for them to fix and repaint for the next sucker. read more

I came to this location for a new shooter class. My instructors were Karl and Marlena. The class was very informative. I definitely left there with a better understanding of gun safety and shooting fundamentals. The best thing about the course was that the instructors were able to remove all the fear I had associated with firearms and that alone is worth the five stars to me. Karl mentioned that he is at the Alliance location, but I definitely recommend him for any courses you may take. He is patient and knowledgeable and is pretty funny too!
