I feel like there are different types of pole. Some emphasize the workout, others focus on the confidence and dance aspects. I prefer the latter, but Butter & Filth does an amazing job at incorporating all the elements. It feels like a fully balanced space. I have taken a few B&F infusion classes. You are required to start with these before you can sign up for their other classes. It's a three class beginner series. They have two studios now, which are about 5 minutes driving from each other. The class mentions which location it'll take place at. If you're interested in joining this studio, you'll want to sign up for their newsletter to get notified when the registration for B&F infusion is open to signup for (usually at the beginning of the month). It seems like you're required to take it twice before moving on to their normal classes. Do not be discouraged by the pricing here. It's a local business with incredible teachers and a wonderful vibe. You don't only learn a lot, but it feels like an investment in self love. I know that sounds cheesy, but I usually leave classes there feeling inspired and really proud or good about myself. It's an amazing community and I'm excited to continue my journey with them.

We worked with several instructors and also attended group classes (free with our private instruction packages), which covered everything from the basics of rhythm to turns and variations on several different steps. Dance masters is really a community and even other, more advanced, students were even willing to help while my husband and I practiced our form. We met a lot of great people over the course of a few months and truly had a fun time. Throughout the process, we worked with Katherine and Rock to select a few steps that fit our music but allowed us to remain natural and not seem "too choreographed." I was taking father/daughter lessons out of town at another studio simultaneously with my lessons here in Richmond and not only were they twice as expensive, but they were much less fun. Dancemasters kept our lessons to 20-40 minutes a piece (with practice at the end), and I found that to be the sweet spot for leaning without becoming frustrated with yourself or your partner. The only con that comes to mind was that there were a few times when the studio was very crowded and we were completely unsure not of where we were supposed to be practicing/felt rushed out of our scheduled lesson time. The grading system here is pretty fair. Found most of the grades to be very accurate to the V scale that they use. They have plenty of routes on Top Rope and Bouldering for all skill levels, and also have a long comp wall as well! With a variety of holds on slab, caves and overhang, you can definitely gets some miles in at this gym. some of the walls here are kind of high from what I'm used too, so it was a little scary getting to the top. The gym is also clean and very spacious. Plenty of walls to go around so peak hours shouldn't be so bad. I haven't experienced it since I'm not from the area, but the space is huge. Overall, a very nice gym. Clean, spacious and accurate grades. Definitely recommend this climbing gym!

It's wintertime and we wanted to do one of the most wintery sports you can do! There was ample parking out front and our GPS took us right to it. ***EXPERIENCE*** I'm so happy we came here. It reminded me of the rink we used to go to growing up. I am by no means an ice skater. I loved that they provided buckets for me to go a bit faster on when I was tired of waddling by. They offered locker rentals for $1.50 to put your stuff in, but a lot of people (me included) left their stuff on the benches. They also had a lot of fun arcades games in the other room. ***PRICE*** It's $16 to enter and $4 for rental. ***BATHROOMS*** Some of the toilets don't flush and there wasn't enough soap to wash, but the bathrooms were clean and easy to get to in skates. ***CONCLUSION*** A wonderful spot to go ice skating all year long! They offer adult classes in July that I might end up taking because I had such a fun time skating here!
