We have eaten here a few times. The service is hit or miss. We waited at the front to be seated several Minutes. So long a gentleman at the bar counter was looking at the table in the back were the employee were hanging out trying to get their attention. We ultimately sat at the bar. The chicken sandwich was decent, fries cold. Husband had salmon was ok. Some times this place is a 4 star and others less. Atmosphere is nice, good beer selection. Bar waitress did a good job was friendly blond goes to Tarleton. Maybe some training since the place had serval tables filled to have one person watching the floor at all times would work. I couldn't wait to finish eating before I posted this but AMAZING from beginning to end of the visit started with queso and chips that was so good and cheesy, ate every bite. Then I had the catfish with waffle fries and it had to be the best I've ever ate and I'm from East Texas right off the bayou. My boyfriend had a chicken bacon sandwich which he ate in less than 5 minutes because it was so good. We also had drinks, he tried the mojito and it was like drinking the best minty gum ever. I tried the gummy bear and strawberry margarita both were excellent ~also our waitress was so sweet and nice, got the best service we could have asked for. Shooterz is a place that is suffering from an identity crisis. It can't decide if it wants to be a cheap bar or a fancy restaurant. The drinks are super cheap and very watered down and the food is priced above other local places with the same sort of selection. For an appetizer, we ordered the fried pickles, which weren't bad. Then I ordered the fish and chips for my meal. It was like eating a plate of grease. Everything was bland, including the breading on the fish, and wasn't appetizing at all. Per the menu description of my meal - "Fresh bass fried and served with waffle fries, tartar sauce or cocktail sauce"; not sure what that tarter sauce was, but I know it wasn't amazing! And their waffle fries looked like they were out of a bad, defiantly not J&D's! The bread was good at least. I had high hopes for this place. I have eaten here 2 times in the last week. First time I had the Jalapeño Catfish. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce was not overly spicy, just a very good flavor. This time I had an appetizer (loaded potatoes) as my meal. They were delicious and there was so much, I took have of it home. My husband had the wings (medium spicy) and said they were the best he has had in a while. Plenty of choices for a good beer too. I've been to Shooterz about 4-5 times now. Out of all those times, I have only been disappointed once and that was simply by the slow service that night. The food is always good, I try to order something new every time and each time the new item has been a winner. Bread is brought to your table at the beginning and I believe they are cheddar biscuits. I would go so far as to say their biscuits are better than Red Lobster's biscuits. Shooterz is in a college town and it would not be a place I would recommend to a typical college student due to their prices. However, for tourists or locals, Shooterz is a fairly high end place for this town and they continuously have new specials, whether its food, drink, or both. 10/10 recommend read more

Had a great first visit here. The staff was very New, but the manager, though young, prevented very well. Perceived manager of the shift anyway. That is what got my attention. She was quick to come by and inspect my experience. Was visible and active the shift. Keep it up. I did NOT get an itemized receipt, and in my mind the price I paid was a good 7 dollars more than it should have been in my head. That was annoying and kept me from having a better experience. Food was very good. Gave some good cheddar biscuits to the table. I had the bacon wrapped scallops. They plate and present everything very formal, atmosphere is a little more casual. If I could give this place less than one star for service I would. The waitress was beyond rude and refused to work. This was round one of drinks and about 45 min after being there for our whole table. I ordered a lemon drop martini and got a dirty martini and when I tried to ask for the correct order, the waitress told me it was my fault for not being clear. Finally after 2 hours, when it came time to order we were 1 of 3 tables getting up to leave and they acted like it was our fault for being a "large" party (8 people). Staff has always been friendly with solid food. Only been in a handful of times, sat at the bar about 1/2 of them. Only complaint and it's pretty minor; apparently the word "hamburger" no longer exists here, bit you can get a "cheese burger without cheese". Bartender asked if I wanted my shot chilled, I said yes. She then proceeded to put the shot and some ice in a blender and put the finished product in a shot glass. Thats not a chilled shot, thats a slushy. Everyone in the world knows a chilled shot is shaken on ice except for this bartender. The shot was all ice no alcohol. I could see half the liquor was still in the blender. Someone retrain that bartender. At least the food was good. read more

My family and I have been here 4 times, each time hoping maybe the time before was just an "off night" for the restaurant. After 4 visits I can confidently say it's just the food itself. All of it tastes and looks like processed frozen food you'd buy and heat up at home. I've tried fish, burgers, appetizers and dessert. The only thing on the menu I've had that didn't feel overpriced or subpar quality was a beer. If you're sitting at the bar, having a drink, I'd recommend this place. I've been here twice now and the only thing on the menu worth eating is the lobster bisque. First time, they were out of everything on tap. Second time the shrimp was over cooked. I went in on Sunday June 27th at around 5 pm to grab a drink. I am 23 years old and look a little younger so when the bartender denied my ID at first I was not offended. I tried to explain to her that it is my legal ID and even offered to show her two different forms of identification so she could confirm. Instead of even looking at the other forms of ID she walked away and said "im not serving you". I will not be going back due to this rude unfair service. read more

It's a good place to come for drinks and to watch a game with some friends. They're very new and still improving on some menu items, so you might want to ask your waiter what's good before ordering. A few of the waiters & waitresses are friendly enough, however many of them walk around not doing much other than standing by the bar with a less than welcoming look on their faces. The food is average, the wait staff and managers are alright, and the atmosphere is clean and open, but not much to brag about. Our waiter was not friendly, and I'm not 100% sure he wasn't stoned. To top it off, There was a large flat screen TV directly in my line of sight playing a gory horror movie. It was very overpriced and the shrimp had no flavor at all. Tried it again today and ordered the fish and chips basket. The fish was over fried and the waffle "chips" had no flavor whatsoever.
