I love discovering new products at Grocery Outlet, and my most recent obsession is these super…read moredelicious milk flavored rice snacks from China. They came in three different flavors, Banana, Original, and Cheese, and I tried all three. Every flavor was fantastic! The texture was also really good - they were super crispy, and the flavor was addicting. I'm sad I didn't grab more than I did because some of the flavors have already sold out. The thing with Grocery Outlet is once something is gone, there's a good chance you won't see it again. But I know other new and interesting things will eventually show up, so I don't fret. Also, keep an eye out for their discounted items. I found a Pistachio Pound Cake and couldn't resist it since the whole container was only $2. Unfortunately, I ended up not super liking it because it had a strong bitter aftertaste, which I'm sure came from the use of pistachio essence, so it just wasn't my cup of tea. But for $2 for a whole container, it was still a steal, I think.

I come to this location with my elderly mom to shop for her house. She would rather go to Safeway but I encourage her to come here. I am a big fan of grocery outlets. My mom has mobility issues and is self conscious about them. Yesterday during our visit at the checkout line, our checker, Gilvania is the name on the receipt, was not very kind to my mom when it took her a moment to move forward.. not okay! Her and I would have had words but that would have embarrassed my mom further. My mom's mobility issues are obvious, that was rude and embarrassing for an old sweet lady. How do I talk her into coming back again? Thumbs down this time around. Check your people.

We had tried the Lemon Vanilla before and it was good, so we know we were gonna like it. It was sweet with a slight tang from the lemon, but not overly sour, combined with the creamy whipped cream and Yellow Sponge Cake, what's not to like, really? The Cookies N Cream was just okay. I think this particular container came with a little too heavy of the whipped cream and could've used more chocolate pudding. The Strawberry one reminded me of a Strawberry Boston Cream Cake. All three were pretty good, especially considering they're from a grocery store. I'd definitely get them again.

Upon looking up the background of Lucky California, I found out that it's owned by the Save Mart company. The Save Mart Companies, acquired the Northern California division of Albertsons and revived the Lucky brand. Albertsons Companies own Safeway as well. Who knew?! It's a large grocery store that is well stocked with your general food, drinks, household goods and more. Nicely organized with large aisles to move around with your grocery cart. Well lit and signs guide you to the correct location. We found what we wanted and also noticed that Lucky's is open on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day! Service here was fast and efficient. If you download the Lucky app or have access to its website, you can use the store coupons. https://luckysupermarkets.com

During my visit, it was…read moreclear that most employees had little idea what was happening, and the manager appeared to be nowhere to be found- reportedly "in the back" the entire time while customers were left waiting. The photo print center was particularly frustrating. I was initially told my prints would be ready in 6-7 minutes. After waiting around the store for about 20 minutes, I finally asked for help and was told there had been an error and it would be another 10 minutes. After waiting again and struggling to get someone's attention, I was then told there was a print queue and that I would have to come back at some unspecified time because no one knew how long it would take. That information would have been perfectly reasonable if it had been communicated at the beginning, instead of after nearly 45 minutes of wasted time. The only person who ultimately provided a clear answer was a kind employee who had literally just clocked in for her shift, which says a lot about the lack of organization beforehand. I rarely go to CVS, and this experience reminded me exactly why. I'll pick up my photos whenever they eventually become available, but I won't be returning. If you're considering using the photo printing services here, be prepared for delays, unclear communication, and a lot of waiting around.

Let's start by saying this - the average person is completely clueless about the source of their…read morefood. Most people think because something is labeled "free range", "grass-fed" or "organic", or if it's sold in Trader Joes or Whole Foods, that it's all created equal and it's all great quality. If you think that, then you might as well shop at FoodMaxx because at least that way, you're not getting ripped off. When I patronize Norcal Prime Foods, I'm not patronizing them because their food is labeled "organic". I give them my hard-earned money because when it comes to their meats and vegetables, it's of the best quality possible anywhere. They personally, carefully and thoroughly vet each and every one of their sources, ensuring the farm's practices are what you would expect from a sustainable supplier. Let's take the chickens for example...most people think that because the package says "free range", they have this image of chickens roaming freely on the land. No. Sorry to burst your bubble. That just means they are not individually caged up. Usually, they are still heavily confined to an extremely small area, are shoulder-to-shoulder (well, more like wing-to-wing lol) with the other chickens and stand/sit in their own poop for weeks on end because it's impossible for them to move. Don't believe me? Google it. It's not hard to learn about and it's no secret. Not the chickens at the farm Norcal uses, though. These chickens have room! Don't believe it? Ask them who their source is, they'll tell you and you can go see for yourself! That's how honest and ethical they are! The other thing I love is that as you become more and more vested with them, you get rewarded. I don't know any other store that does what they do. Anyone who runs a business knows that as time goes on, the longer you keep a customer, the more money you make off of them and more important than increased revenues is customer loyalty. Whether or not someone spends a lot of money is not the point. Whatever the amount is, if they spend it with you consistently, then you stay in business. They recognize this and pass along savings that make you want to stay. High quality food is very expensive because a) these suppliers are not subsidized the way the agricultural giants whose practices are unfavorable are subsidized, and b) production is not about quantity, it's about quality, and because of that, the price goes up. To offset this pricing, with each order you place, they take an additional 5% off your total order. So, from your 8th order on forward, you are saving 35% off their list price, which makes the pricing of your top-quality meats competitive to the bullshit they sell at your local grocery store. In short, you're paying more upfront (which is really just to offset the additional costs in acquiring a new customer and providing world-class service) but in the long run, you're winning. Oh, and I almost forgot: they stand behind their word 100%. If at any point you aren't satisfied with a product, just let them know and they'll happily replace it with something else you like. No questions. Will your local grocer or butcher do that for you? I've officially been with them for over a year now and love the service. You won't regret your decision if you spend your money with them. Cheers!

Mitchell and Jennifer are awesome, so caring and helpful. When the freezer went out they replaced the freezer and the food lost.(I had to cook all my meat and freeze it) and they still replaced the food. Mitchell always recommends different meats (stuff I have never eaten) and he has led me wrong yet. I had never eaten hummus or ceviche but he sent me some to try and it was delicious. Jennifer knows my voice when I call and her voice makes me smile. She is always so pleasant to talk to and helpful with any questions or problems we've encountered (which has been very few) My husband has decided to go vegan but I'm sure we will be able to continue with NorCal with their plant based selections.

She even had to fill up balloons while trying to get the customers through. I had to make a return and the cashier tried radioing the manager for almost 10 minutes without a response. I asked the cashier if that could be the manager. I went outside and sure enough the manger was out front with another employee who was sweeping. When she answered that she was the manger, I felt like I was inconveniencing her by asking for help. She asked me for my receipt and looked me up and down, then told me I couldn't make an exchange because she doesn't take returns from other dollar trees. Her whole demeanors was abrasive and short. She didn't acknowledge the cashier or apologize for not having a radio or checking in. FYI, I was trying to exchange one print of contact paper for a different one and purchase more of it. She didn't acknowledge the fact that I stood there, unable to do what I needed to do for 10 minutes because she didn't check on her store. I expected a bit of professionalism, especially when being told I can't make a return.
