This place has to be contextualized for what it is. It's a beachfront (part of the seating is actually on the sand) restaurant in a glorious location in a glorious town. It's not aiming to be high end or ritzy. This place has every reason to be a tourist trap but instead it just has great views & a straightforward no-frills beach-nautical vibe with reasonably tasty food at a surprisingly good price point. Just make sure you go in with appropriate expectations and you'll be pleased. You're not gonna get fine dining but for a casual & relaxed time it nails the role. Service could be a little tighter but honestly we just wanted to enjoy the location and atmosphere, which we were easily able to able to. Menu has a fair few options but isn't overwhelming. The food is attractively priced compared to other beach locations, though soda/lemonade/OJ is a little pricey. Wait wasn't too bad for lunch, around 15 minutes for a party of six on a holiday weekend. Parking is adjacent and most spaces are $3.50 an hour. read more

My new favorite breakfast spot in Santa Barbara. It is right on the beach - some tables, literally on the sand, and others on a patio overlooking the ocean. We took our daughter to breakfast on a gorgeous sunny fall morning, and it was wonderful. She had pancakes and fruit, and, I was happy to learn that they serve the lunch menu all day, so my husband and I split an order of fried fish tacos, which were excellent. Weekend covid-19 getaway with the wife. Stumbled upon this beachfront cafe prior to buying a few bottles of wine. Haha gotta buy wine on a full stomach. Our waitress Shaine provided us phenomenal welcoming and friendly service. We started with mai tai drinks which had a rum forward taste before stirring haha. Can never complain about a liquor taste. Literally the only place in Santa Barbara that I know of where you can actually put your feet in the sand while you eat fish tacos and enjoy and ice cold corona salt and lime. This place has been a long time Santa Barbara staple for at least 15 years, they have kept their prices fair and the quality and consistency of food has been stable over the years. The servers are a bit young, and sometimes forgetful but who wouldn't forget a side of salsa or bottle of Tabasco when you've got that gorgeous ocean to look out into. Honestly you won't mind the wait- once you put your toes in the sand and just take a deep breath taking it all in. I recently discovered this is an amazing place to bring children. I was working as a nanny and had three kids under 5 years old in tow (plus the tired grandparents) with me after a long day going to the Santa Barbara Museum of natural history, and park with the kids. It was great to be able to relax and enjoy our meal while the kids played in the sand without any problems or worries as you have a ample view and are able to watch them without needing them to stay at the table. My favorite items to order are: 1. The Baja style fish tacos on corn tortillas 2. The spicy beer battered shrimp tacos on corn tortillas 3. The spicy or he stir fried with carrots, cabbage, and green onion on a bed of sticky rice with Wassabi 4. The chips salsa and guac, or go big and get the nachos. The chips are made in house and really crispy and crunchy, and the guacamole's pretty good!! 5. Finally don't sleep on the milkshakes, or piña colada... with whip cream of course! They are made with hand scooped ice cream and an old-fashioned milkshake machine and also really good!! Honestly, just talking about these food items makes me salivate for those Baja style fish tacos, and a milkshake! Headed there now! Pro tip: if you are bringing kids make sure to bring them sand toys as they do not no longer offer loaners. And also if you are bringing pets just know that they are made to sit outside of the food serving area, on the sand and in the sun, so don't bring them if it's too hot out or if they will bark at you while you are sitting having your meal in their view. read more

pretty mediocre meal. the ambiance and view of the ocean is really the main reason to come here. the seafood burrito is alright, very wet and messy almost to the point that it is hard to eat. also, if you are going to get something that comes with fries or tortilla chips, get the fries as the tortilla chips were nothing special at all but the fries were actually pretty good. our waitress was fine, not very nice but not rude either. we didn't get offered refills on our water or anything. a little overpriced for what you get, but the view of the ocean is pretty awesome. also had to wait about 20 minutes for our table on a monday afternoon at 2 pm but there isnt really much they can do about that. read more

The fries were also good, but nothing extraordinary. The overall atmosphere is very chill, and relaxing. It is a great stop if you are looking for a quick bite to eat. The only thing that I did not enjoy was our server. She was very friendly, but she was on the ditsy side. She often forgot things, forgot to check on us, and didn't understand when we would asks for smaller requests. This did impact our experience, as we had to be extra patient the entire time.
