Up high in the Santa Barbara hills this spot is perfect for a cocktail or two, a snack and enjoy the city and ocean view. The service is attentive and the drinks are delicious. Charcuterie board is perfect to share. Nice spot to go for happy hour and a relaxing afternoon.

Amazing view and yummy eggs Benedict. Non-rushed service. Did I mention the view?! The terrace is always a perfect spot for brunch. I appreciate that it's not a huge brunch buffet; it's an approachable menu. Bossa Nova theme. Not sure what that was but guitarist was playing easy Latin music. The website is not really reflective of the what is offered. (It said $110 but didn't say what that was for. When I called, I was told that was for something else even though it came up under brunch)

Went to Riviera Theatre for a film screening and decided to walk right over to the El Encanto to see about getting a quick bite and drink prior to another film. Am so glad I did! While on the expensive side this is an upscale resort and same for the beautiful dining room. Ambience, service and food were all top-notch! And the peach Bellini was wonderful. It was all worth the splurge...in fact, so good that I decided to not rush out to another film but rather enjoy my meal and the experience. I'll be back!

For Christmas Eve each year, we pick a nice restaurant to get together with the family - and then open presents afterward. Since we were already staying at the El Encanto over the holidays, we thought an evening at The Dining Room would be a lovely experience. We were wrong. I tried to make the dinner reservation at the same time as the hotel reservation, but that proved to be a challenge. It seems - but I'm not sure - that there are two teams managing the dining schedule. I had to wait until December to know for sure that our dinner reservation was locked in for 5:30PM on Christmas Eve. It was a little nerve wracking. Why was it so hard and why did it take so long? We opted for an earlier reservation because we had two young children in the party - a 2-year-old and a 3-month-old. The plan was to eat our meal and then move the party to a reserved firepit area by the bar at 7PM to unwrap presents. This way, as the kids got tired (and potentially crabby), we'd be out of the dining area so that other diners would have a peaceful night. We didn't move to the firepit until 7:45PM. That's because it took 2+ hours to get through our meal. The service was that slow. And bad. It took at least an hour to get our drinks and appetizers served. We then got our entrees, and then dessert. Overall, the food was okay, but not great. For dessert, one thing we ordered was one of those chocolate lava-type cakes. The server brought it out to the table, along with a dirty old Bic lighter, and attempted to flame the dessert so that the chocolate would melt. After 5 minutes of failed attempts, the waiter just left the dessert. It tasted terrible. When we moved over to the firepit at 7:45PM, the restaurant was less than half full. I will never understand why it was so hard to secure the reservation. They weren't busy, yet service was slow. Never again.

We enjoyed a lovely birthday brunch here. The weather was perfect and the views matched! It was very nice of them to bring out a little cake to celebrate

Post Easter Monday lunch. Walked in with group of 11 - they made room for us in the patio. We had a great view, food was great and awesome service.

Being with the family was great. But family members staying here and got the reservation seemed to have a really hard time with the reservations as some other people posted. Our server was fantastic though.

Came in for high tea (I am a first timer) and was blown away with the experience! Everything was delicious and I honestly was full before trying all the pastries and yummy bites. On the pricey side, but expected as it is a high end resort. Service was good, ambiance 10/10

I was was excited to come here, hearing the good recommendations. But I don't feel they are their game. The view I would give a 5 , and the atmosphere. The food was ok , basic a 3 . Lisa our server gets 5 , but the rest service a 3 . A couple that came after us got their drinks and meal before. We were told the had no bartender, and overheard two servers called out. The food runner asked if we wanted something else , and never came back . Lisa was busy with other tables . I had to ask the hostess to get us some ranch. Still they weren't that busy to give better service . I would go back earlier to get a sit on the balcony . It closes 2-5 to prepare for dinner.

One of the best places for lunch in Santa Barbara. Come later around 1pm when the sun comes out to enjoy views over the city and the ocean. Definitely book a table on the terrace, but okay if you're inside as well. Night time is equally enjoyable but without the views unless you come before sunset. Needless to say the food was delicious. We ordered several dishes to try different things, but the best items were their Avocado Fries and Fiesta tacos. Other things we ordered include Caprese Salad and the Tuna Tartar which were incredible. All of that was plenty for two until I saw the waitress bring another table their desert. I asked what is was and they said it's a special chocolate dish they serve for special occasions such as birthdays. But they were happy to bring me one.... OMG sweet tooth heaven! I am kicking myself for not remembering the name. Best of all was the Belmond service. While many people can be turned off eating at a hotel, given all the Pandemic related service issues, I've found that 5-star hotels have been consistent with the service in restaurants. Worth coming here for a really fantastic dining experience. Cannot recommend high enough.

    See what happened.

Check out my review attached. We are very not happy. Will not be back. Went for buffet brunch, ended up with an expensive a la carte menu with very limited choices. Barely got an apology out of them. I have attached a copy of the menu we were hoping to experience. And now, more than 12 hours later, is still up on their website. Shoddy customer care.

We made dinner reservations for 8pm for our anniversary this weekend. Which is better for a romantic ambience? Seating indoors or seating outdoors on the patio?

The way this restaurant works is that you go up to the front window, you place your order, you go and sit down, and the order is brought out to you. Pretty simple. It's important to note, however, that this is a popular café. So, particularly on peak hours, you're probably going to have to wait to put in your order. That's just an FYI. In terms of seating, they have a large outdoor patio space. There's a lot of tables there, so you should have no problem getting a seat, weather permitting. This area has tarps over it, so you do have some protection from the sun. But, depending on the weather, you may or may not like sitting there. Personally, I always like to sit outside at this restaurant. They do have some interior seating. It's fairly limited, but they do have a few tables. So, if you're lucky enough, and you want to sit inside, you may be able to grab one of these tables to sit at for your meal. In terms of their food, it's basically Americana, with a little bit of a southwestern twist. Overall, it's pretty good. They also have all of the expected drinks: your coffees, your lattes, your soft drinks, and all of that kind of stuff. Overall, this is an interesting take on a café in the Santa Barbara area. If you're into a casual environment, this is a fun place to eat.

There was only one person in line and 4 staff members behind the counter standing around talking to each other. Nobody greeted us or asked for our bakery order. When I said excuse me to a dirty blond girl she replied "WHAT!" and continued to joke with a co worker. When the cashier finished with their customer they walked away and even though they saw we were waiting to be helped. I looked around and saw nobody helping seated customers or us at the bakery counter. Finally, the dirty blonde ask what we need and my response was "WHAT" ?! At this point we should have left and gone to Lilac Patisserie however we proceeded to give her our order. I told another customer behind us that rudeness seems to be the norm, and she agreed. I paid for our bakery items and asked an older woman scrolling on her phone if we could have a bag for all of our boxed treats. She grabbed a handful of bags and threw them at me from across the counter. We were appalled and left. We found a place to sit on State street to eat our treats and my daughter said she didn't want her Meringue because the dirty blonde girl used the back of her ungloved hand to repeatedly wipe her nose. We threw all $50 worth of baked goods in the trash. Yes, I should have gone back and complained I'm had everything refunded but it was Mother's Day and we didn't want anything more to do with this establishment. It was also an epiphany that they don't treat everyone this way. It could be you next time. Please go somewhere else. We will never go to anywhere but Lilac Patisserie which is to the left as you exit Andersons, past the stop light. You will definitely get your money's worth and the staff is friendly, professional, and greet you immediately as you reach the counter.

Pretty expensive but I don't mind if the food is good. I was given a number and told to go find a seat. Because they use every square inch for seating they had some uncovered seats that were in the hot sun, these were the only ones open so I sat in the hot sun with no shade. About a twenty minute wait for my taco salad. I wouldn't normally write a review over a taco salad but this one was so bad and so overpriced I thought it deserved one. It was basically a grocery store salad mix with a scoop of ground beef and a quarter of an avocado on top in a greasy flour tortilla bowl. I couldn't tell if the beef was good or not because it was drowned in what tasted like a sweet thousand island dressing. The setting is beautiful and the staff is friendly and competent but the taco salad is terrible and expensive.

If you're looking for a spot this summer with all the vibes, killer margaritas, and delicious food,…read morelook no further than Santo Mezcal in Santa Barbara. My bestie (and yelp elite) Imo brought me here for a girls day after raving about it for months, and now I completely understand the hype. We grabbed seats at the bar (which is honestly the place to be, especially since this spot gets busy on the weekends). Hint hint: make a reservation or get here early. But overall the bar was the perfect place to people watch and to catch up. When it comes to service, impeccable. Despite being busy everyone was attentive and the drinks/food were well placed despite it being a full house. And can we talk about the bartenders? They were so welcoming and even let us film while they worked their magic making cocktails. Watching them crank out cocktails with so much flair was half the entertainment and they couldn't have been nicer. Service was definitely a 10/10. We enjoyed a few margaritas but my favorite was definitely the Hibiscus Margarita. It wasn't overly sweet and was just refreshing. I also had the tamarind Marg which was good too. Extensive cocktail menu and mezcal if you like it. The food absolutely lived up to the drinks. Santo Mezcal takes classic Mexican flavors and gives them a slightly elevated twist while still keeping everything comforting and approachable. My friend couldn't stop talking about her Pork Belly Tacos and I fell in love with the Shrimp Enchiladas. They were loaded with fresh shrimp and covered in the most incredible creamy chipotle sauce (same as their sister restaurant Los agaves for reference). Definitely one of my favorite enchiladas around, 10/10 also. One thing I wasn't expecting is that their chips and salsa might be some of the best I've had. The tortilla chips were fresh, warm, perfectly salted, and paired with a salsa so good I probably ate two bowls before our food even arrived. Honestly, you could sit at the bar with a basket of chips, salsa, and margaritas for hours and be completely happy. Make sure you don't pass up on the chips and salsa. As noted, this is a more elevated Mexican restaurant so prices are slightly more $$$ but you get what you pay for. Just worth noting because if you equate good Mexican food being $2 tacos and a bucket of beer, this spot won't do it for you. But if you want something for more of a special occasion where the food, vibes and service are A+ then this spot is for you.

We ordered: -Ceviche de Mariscos- good, refreshing -Pulpo tacos- great flavor, small amount of octopus for the price. The salad with mango dressing is amazing! -tacos rib eye- she loved it -short rib tacos - also enjoyed Service was good. Delicious
