The park is a gem and easy drive to explore walking or hiking trails amidst the marina, or enjoy water sport activities. Such an underrated spot. Really enjoyed the brunch food and found service to be smooth. We ordered the eggs benedict which comes with a yogurt parfait and potatoes. The eggs were perfectly runny and the parfait had this fresh apple jam on top which made it a nice end to the meal. More than the food I really appreciated the ambience. There's lots of outdoor seating options. Even during weekend brunch with a group of 10+ we were able to find tables and seats easily. My friend had the Poke Rice Bowl, which looked and tasted good from her experience. I, unfortunately, ordered the 2-piece fried chicken for $20. Our cans of soda were not cold. The fried chicken was likely sitting all day and by 2:30, the rough, barely editable portions were the equivalent of two chicken wings. Bad choice for me. It came with mashed potatoes-- a bit runny, but not bad. It also came with green beans, which I didn't touch. If going, keep it simple, be prepared to overpay for mediocre food, but that is the payoff for a great view in at a cool park. read more

First time coming to this lake and I figured to check this cute little place, but I have to say, my experience there wasn't the best. The atmosphere was good, but the food didn't quite live up to expectations. I ordered a pasta it had no flavor, the pasta tasted plain. A great outdoor place to get some delicious brunch or meal. One of our favorite spots for brunch, this one is always fun and has good food. We had a reservation so were seated immediately and joined the line to order. It was pretty crowded and we took a while to get to ordering, but the food did arrive quickly after. This time around we ordered their egg Benedict, orange juice, Thai Salad (minus the chicken), shoestring fried and Avocado Toast. The salad was amazing, the fries were great and so was the avocado toast. The Benedict could have been better for sure. They do minus items from the dish if you like but it's pretty insanely price to add an avocado to the salad etc. The salad was truly amazing and I would be definitely going back to get some more of that and enjoy their Vegetarian Burger. I came here on 7/11 after having a fun day on the water. I ordered the burger that came with the special sauce ( I can't remember what it was called) I asked if they could take off the sauce because I have an allergy to an ingredient in the sauce. It was like a thousand island type of sauce so I know it usually always has what I'm allergic to in it. They brought our food out and my burger had the sauce. No big deal, I asked if they could remake it and explained that I have carry a epipen for this allergy and I will 100% have to go to the hospital if I eat it. The waitress took the burger back to the kitchen and I waited around 10 mins for it to come back. Something told me to open the burger and look at it. The kitchen had just replaced the bun and I could clearly see the sauce still on the lettuce, burger and tomatoes. I'm pretty upset but I go inside to the area where you order with the burger and explain the whole situation and kindly ask if they could just remake the whole burger because I'm afraid to eat it at this point. I didn't get her name but she was so incredibly nice and helpful about the situation. She even offered me a free ice cream although I didn't take it, her customer service was amazing. She brought the burger back out after maybe 25 minutes and it was sauce free! It kinda sucked because everyone who was with me had already eaten but the burger was so good. I just wanted to bring awareness to others who have food allergies to just be cautious and Double check. We had a beautiful view of the water as well. My husband and I have been coming to the Shoreline Lake Bistro for years, usually on bicycles. Yesterday we came by car, along with an out-of-town friend who had never been to the area. It was a Tuesday, so fewer people than usual, just a sailboat and a few paddle boats on the lake. The weather was perfect--puffy clouds and a light breeze, and our table looked over the water. Two families of geese and goslings walked by. The staff was courteous and helpful, taking our order at the register and bringing the lunch to our table. And the food was delicious! Two of us ordered the Chinese chicken salad, and the third ordered the raspberry salmon salad. The chicken and salmon were perfectly grilled, and we shared a lovely flan for dessert. The Shoreline Bistro is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the view and ambience and have a well-prepared, delicious meal. The entire experience was relaxing and so much fun. My husband and I visited Shoreline Lake for a quick bike ride the other weekend, and I was surprised at home much there is to do in the area! Shoreline Lake seems like a great date or lunch spot, where you can go on a hike or do an activity, and then have a snack. There was free parking in front of the restaurant, and from there we were able to unload and explore the many trails around the lake. There's seating at the restaurant both inside and outside, and picnic tables near the restaurant if you bring your own food. The restaurant also had lockers and lake equipment rentals. For lunch, I had a chicken sandwich. The baguette was nice and the homemade chips were excellent. The flavors on the sandwich were just ok for me, so I would try the veggie burger next time. My husband had the breakfast sandwich, but my favorite part of the meal was the granola he got with it! Service was a little bit slow and there's not a ton of variety in the options, but the quality is good for the price. We will be back for a date another time. Today, I came back again to Shoreline Lake American Bistro as I was meeting with a few old friends to catch up. I remembered I had come to this spot a long time ago and wasn't too impressed with it and since it's been quite some time, I figured I should update my review! L O C A T I O N Basically if you go down Shoreline Blvd until it dead ends, past the Shoreline Amphitheater. There's a parking lot in the back with plenty of spots. I N T E R I O R This is a quaint boat house with charming details. Seats located both inside and outside. There is a limited amount of tables indoors. M E N U It's a pay and find a table type of place. So you order what you'd like first, they give you a number and they serve you the item at your table. There's water on the side with paper cups to serve yourself. The menu is pretty straight forward in terms of brunch fare, but note the pricing can change from visit to visit and also with their online menu (I looked this morning and it's about a $2 difference). Pricing is a bit steep for what you get. Maybe the ambiance is what you're paying for. I just couldn't fathom paying $12 for two eggs, slice of bacon, slice of toast and a small mound of potatoes. ~ Quiche du Jour ~ $10 ~ I got the quiche of the day which looked like 1/6 of a standard size quiche with a mesclun salad. I was a little disappointed that there were minced raw onions in the dressing or the salad as I am quite sensitive to it. I would've asked for the dressing on the side or without it if I had known. The salad was ok. I just wish there was more of it. The quiche was seasoned well, but the crust under baked. "Soggy bottom" as the folks on Great British Bake Off would say. S E R V I C E Fairly quick and no nonsense. I paid by credit without hassle. O V E R A L L I've just had better and although the spot has renovated and slightly improved on what they offer, I would rather go elsewhere. This place is known for its ambiance and seating along the only serene waters of the Silicon Valley, Shoreline Lake. Not something you can normally find in the Bay Area without having to drive out to the ocean. This is absolutely my favorite place to grab a coffee or iced tea, sometimes with delicious homemade desserts and sometimes with a side of fries (yes, they make them well here!) After, I take a quick mile stroll around half of the lake watching the , , and s make their place home. There's always someone on the lake, windsurfers, paddle boats, kayaks. I've kayaked on the water and survived! Definitely not the type of water you really want to dip your toes in but it is absolutely a beautiful lake. Why the 5 stars? Because both the chocolate cake and chocolate chip bread pudding was to die for. Gavin wanted pancakes and I was indecisive so I took the young lady's recommendation: The Crissy (grilled chicken sandwich). After I ordered I could have just paid, grabbed our number, and get seated but no, I had to let my eyes wander and it found the chocolate cake. I did not even see the bread pudding until I went up again to ask for a glass of iced water. That's right. I went back in line for the bread pudding. Though lines were out the door, the indoor seating was rather empty. Everyone wanted to sit outside to have a view of Lake Shoreline. Gavin and I wanted to seek shelter because we both got wet during our water adventure. I wanted to sit next to a heater, if anything. Service was pretty fast and friendly. The guy that brought our food out gave me kudos for having desserts first. Well, hell yeah! The chocolate cake is dense and rich. I was actually surprised because the cake wasn't dry like most others. The chocolate chip bread pudding was sweet, indulging, satisfying, heavy... I LOVED it. It was heavenly! So Gavin wanted pancakes but ate like 3 bites. Next time I will just get him a side of sausages because I don't like it when he wastes food. Couldn't to-go it because he drenched it in syrup... he didn't care for his fruit cup either although he did eat some of the strawberries. The Crissy was a little on the dry side. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Bagel Sandwich and it did not disappoint! Loved all the flavor that came in with each bite and the side salad accompanied the sandwich perfectly. Unfortunately, the chips had a stale taste but I tried to ignore that and focus on the main piece LOL My cousins ordered the Grilled Cheese and Fish & Chips and they thought it was pretty good as well! Neither the location nor the food was outstanding enough to plan a return (especially given the price), but I wouldn't object if someone else wanted to go. I had the tuna melt (a special), which actually exceeded expectations--bread was nicely grilled and tuna salad had lots of ingredients and flavor (thankfully NO celery). The greek salad side was bland but fine. The "homemade" kettle chips were kind of thin, overcooked, and not crunchy; they would be better off with storebought. Onion rings were good. I also had a margarita which probably came from a mix and was not boozy at all. Overall, very standard American fast-foody place--counter-order, loudspeaker loudly announcing food orders, clamshell containers and plastic utensils/cups. Nothing to justify the price really. This cafe is outstanding! From the unique setting to the friendly and pleasant staff to the delicious food. A cannot miss place for breakfast, lunch or coffee and sweet. They make the tastiest avocado toast, using a hard-crusted bread, with delicious guacamole and arugula. Most dishes come with a little cup of yummy yogurt and granola and a small cup of some sort of salad (varies with entree.). Cannot really point out what is greatest as all foods we have had there are outstanding. Guess our go-to's are the avocado toast, egg breakfast with Applewood bacon, eggs Benedict, hamburger, and fish and chips. Lattes made to order. We had breakfast on Monday August 19th. It was a very disappointing. The staff was very unfriendly and cold. They seemed annoyed that we even bothered to eat at their establishment. The day we dined at the Bistro there were three ladies working. Each one more unfriendly than the next. The views were nice, and the food was decent (especially the granola yogurt side that came with our breakfast)--but it certainly wasn't good enough to endure the poor attitudes of the staff again. read more
