Absolutely disgusting, my fried chicken was dry like it had bin held on to from a previous order and given to me hours later

Tastes like Burger King. Not the good greasy cheeseburger we were all craving. It didn't have much flavor at all, not salty or spiced at all from what we got. Just burnt plain hamburger taste, not worth the money. read more

First-time visitor; probably last. Wednesday special (maybe not such a good time to try the unknown). Burger was so-so. If you like McDonald fries, you'll like these (this was the best part of the meal for me, kudos for freshness). Ketchup packets were sticky (ew!) I love hamburgers and like to consider myself a connoisseur of them. So, I give this hamburger joint 5 stars because the food is amazingly delicious. I ordered the Doublmeat with cheese hamburger with a Large Fries, a Root Beer, and a chili-cheese hotdog on the side. Picture this.....sitting at my office when the cell phone rings. I've got your lunch out in the parking lot. Walk outside and get a white paper bag filled with greasy goodness. The bag contained one delicious corn dog, one greasy hamburger, with everything, and one order of fries. So on September 16, I went to get a meal for the family. Sad to say that the first bite, I had of my hamburger there was a sharp object in it.... Went back and they were closing. I drove up and told the gentle man I needed to speak with the manager. He said he was the manager. So I showed him my hamburger and said tell me how this sharp item got in my hamburger. His words to me where like I don't knw how. I told him tht I made a report on them and I wanted to get reimbursed my whole meal which was 4 hamburgers and 4 drinks.. He handed me $7 .. I told him I wanted all my money.. He said but you only brought back one hamburger.. Then I said well of course, i wasnt gonna pack everything and bring it back, wht would you do if you found something like tht in your meal... I've eaten here before and the food is pretty good. However the service isn't the best. I have called a few times today to place an order and the phone rang for a few minutes and then some one picked up and hung up immediately. I'm not one to leave bad reviews but you need to learn how to take care of your guest and run your business. read more

This place reminds me of those old photo shacks where you drive thu to drop off your rolls of film.....except you get a delicious mix of burgers, fries, and a drink....and you get it really cheap on Saturdays! Try it out then go to the park - it'll be a great day. read more

We come here often!! I order lunch for my husband- All American with NO ONIONS and ONLY MAYO. Uuuuuugh I drive 25min away to deliver the lunch to my husband- and GUESS what? There is mustard and onions!!! REALLY- so I called to let them know- he stated I need to bring the burger back to get a "NEW" one. It's a drive through fast food burger. Very convenient because it's right across from my work. I would much prefer it over any other fast food burgers (ie. McDonalds, Burger King, Wendys). Mondays and Wednesdays (I think) they have #1's (burger and fries) for very cheap $5 and some change, so I usually go there on Wednesdays for a hump day treat! I have never had to wait more than 3 minutes to order and get my food...very fast! I've also had the chicken strips...I prefer the burger! read more

It's on the way to my work. Its super cheap, and its way better than any fast food burgers. I've had the burgers and the chicken sandwich. Both are great, and you can get burger, fries, drink and an apple pie for $5 to $6. Its awesome. The chicken sandwich has gravy, cheese, and jalapenos on it. Old fashioned home made burger and the fires are hot and ready when you are; consistent and yummy.

Wednesdays and Saturdays special has kept me coming for years can't beat the price and they are always fresh and the food is prepared fast!

Short stop hamburgers used to be reasonably priced not anymore I stopped going there six months ago because of the bill today I went because of convenience my order was not what I expected. My cheese burger was messy and I paid for a large fry. And got a small if it was even that I chose not to call and complain because it would mean I would have to go back so they could fix the problem. Very few places have a welcoming vibe that you don't mind spending a few minutes at and thanks to Miss Davis this short stop had the loving charm. The guy at the window said this location was out of the apple pies that come with the combo meals, so they couldn't include it on my slammer meal. He said that he would take it off the price. He lied to my face. I called the location after I checked my bank and had realized they charged exactly the same price as regular ($7.03). The manager or whoever I talked to just said they actually had the pies and it would've taken a 7 minutes to get it to me. They apparently just lie to you to get you to go away quickly. They won't even give you a receipt for your order to check it. What a scam. read more

stopped by short stop on Anderson lane grabbed number 3 combo then drove home. I paid over 9 dollars for for a double med cheeseburger. What I got was a single hamburger with no cheese. I was pised so I threw it in the trash. read more

I remember all of us kids piled in the Suburban siting in line at the Short Stop in Oak Hill. Was this the first one? I can't remember. Bag of burgers, hook me up for that. I know we lost the South ones thanks to a divorce in the ownership I believe. But then I moved North, and the Anderson location was for me. It used to be $2.49 on Wednesdays and Saturdays for a burger combo. Wow. Now it is $3.89. Yep, inflation. It is still really good, and the staff is always nice. Yes, I always pay cash. read more

My family and I have always loved SS but after this experience, I will no longer go to this location. My first, last and only time! Ordered a combo pretty simple with cheese, ketchup, and pickles only. In return, my burger had everything except what I asked for. Didn't check before driving 20 minutes away and I'm never near this location so I was basically "out of luck" as their "Manager Jerry" so kindly put it. They failed to provide me with a receipt and he said there wasn't anything he could do for me since I didn't have proof I bought the burger and since I told him I would be tossing the burger away. In reality, I spent $9.52 for an order of fries and a large ice water. When I called the Corporate Office to speak with someone, I had to call twice, wait 12 days to hear a response and Mr. Ledbetter (the Regional Manager) basically reassured me that I was out of luck and there wasn't anything they could do for me. I'll give our usual SS a chance to redeem the horrible service their company stands for but I will probably cut SS out of spendings all together and share this experience with my friends and family before picking up a quick bite again. read more
