The quality of the seafood was a very clean tasting seafood. Even the shrimp had a nice clean flavor. And we're you looking for butter? Oh, they do (not) spare the sticks of butter at this place! The potato. Oh yes, I said "potato". I have never had a seafood bowl - have (just) a single potato. The potato tasted absolutely great. But 1 potato? That was a joke - especially after you see what these items cost! The garlic butter: There was plenty of butter. Tye flavoring of the butter, certainly was unique of sorts. Seemed to have (possibly) a chili powder base. And though I thought it was good...I also got tired of the taste, after a bit. The Big Downer at this place: Cost. You see my (2) platters. Add (3) cans of Coke - the cost was $150.00. Yes, that's correct: $150.00. Sure, there's a whole lobster on one of the platters. BUT, it wasn't that big by any means. And let's remember: 1 potato was included in the platter. 1 small red potato, came with it; at that price! Lol. Conclusion: Krustaceans is where you should go - for the seafood boiler platters. A much better combination of quality, value and price.

There was a 5-10 minute wait to be seated which was not bad at all. Of course this was off season, so can't imagine what peak season is like here. Waiter knew his stuff well. Explained the specials and what to expect. I ordered a sirloin steak. Medium rare. Ordered it with fries and the veggies off the day. We got our Caesar salad and it was good! About 10-15 minutes later got our meal. Fries were perfect. Veg was nice. Steak however was medium well. I brought it to the attention of our waiter and he promptly apologized and took it back. Got a new one back in about 10 minutes. Steak was medium well again. I mentioned this and he offered to take it back, but I refused. Kinda disappointed for a steak spot that they can't cook to temp perfectly. It was fairly tough to cut through and could have used more seasoning. The sear and grill marks were perfect. I tried my friends salmon and it was perfect. So if you come here, skip the steak and go with the fish.

Half a minute later Amanda returned with my drink (perfect Arnold Palmer) and a menu. She then gave me a few minutes to review the menu. Upon returning she asked if I had any question and inquired if I was ready to choose. Amanda was very knowledgeable polite and made thoughtful recommendations. Because this was my first visit I tried several different items to get the full experience. I started with a half pound Boudin Link, it was sensational. I was incredibly impressed that the Boudin was so delicious being so far away from Louisiana or Texas. I also ordered a half serving of red beans and rice with sausage, a half serving of jambalaya and a half shrimp Po boy. The Boudin came out first it was Cooked to perfection, exceptionally well flavored and served with a wonderful spicy remoulade. All of the dishes were very thoughtfully prepared, wonderful flavored, just the right amount of cajun flavors. The portions were huge even as half servings it was much more than I could eat. The cost was very reasonable and well worth it. While the meal was excellent, Amanda's attentiveness and genuine concern for customer satisfaction made it a perfect dining experience. I look forward to going there again and again.

See the crumbs in my basket they are not crumbs they taste like boiled canned oysters that at been breaded. They were tasteless and I keep eating one after the other hoping to get an oyster taste. All I could get was a greasy breading taste. You can also see the excessive grease in the basket too. Worst meal I've ever eaten. Plus it was expensive and this was the appetizer. The ambience was nice very festive and the waitress was kind. But the food was terrible I'm surprised they would even charge people for this. Left there sick from grease and I mean really sick and I kept belching oysters it was horrible.

When we arrived, the restaurant did seem a little understaffed, so service was slower than usual, but thankfully I had made a reservation and we had no trouble getting seated. Even with the wait, the staff was kind and doing their best, which was totally understandable. I ordered the Zydeco pasta with crawfish, and we also shared the jambalaya casserole. Both dishes were fantastic. The pasta was basically like a rich, flavorful lobster mac & cheese -- absolutely delicious. The jambalaya casserole was topped with this amazing cheesy sauce that made it even better. The restaurant itself was such a cute spot, with way more seating than I expected, including an adorable patio in the back. Overall, such a charming place with amazing comfort food. Definitely a spot I'd come back to 100%.

The dining area was clean with a nice stamped concrete floor, had loads of natural light with huge windows in the back, and it had a beautiful New Orleans mural in the back. We wished for a bigger dish for the small cups of gumbo and red beans and rice because they were so good! I'm sure they'd come a bit more seasoned or spicer in the south, but in MO, they seemed to tame it down a bit - still delicious though! (And there are two hot sauces and a Cajun spice blend at the table.) The wedge salad with the homemade blue cheese dressing was delicious!! I'd order the dressing on the side though - our salad was swimming a bit... Enjoy your stop!!
