We ended up coming here on a Saturday! If you want a calm experience don't go on the weekend! We went because we wanted to sit on the water and have a blended drink! it was packed with people in the pool and while it was a cool setting it was too packed for me. There was a DJ and it looked very very fun just not what I was looking for on that visit. I will come again when I am in town not on the weekend but during the week day to have some food- because it smelled SO good and have an actually drink. I ended up having a strawberry daquari that was from the machine. I will get another drink because they had a great selection!! Next time I will plan better for my temperment! *Beware of this prejudice and rude bartender* I had a wonderful dining experience and afterwards my friends child wanted to enjoy the kids pool they offer. I walked over to nearby bar where this prejudice and probably racist woman was bartending at. When I first walked up I was standing at the server station and her colleague informed me that it was a server station and I walked around to the other side of the bar. I kindly waved at her so she can acknowledge I was standing there. She then said "I'm going to take care of these people and sorry I have someone one there who is next" I said oh alright and patiently waited until after the person she said she had to serve before me. When I noticed that she bypassed me and took care of people behind me, I kindly waved and asked "I thought you were going, to take care of me after the gentleman you said you had to serve? She then replied rudely and said "look you can wait or find some where else to go" I said " I thought you said I was next?" Then she replied " you know what you ask me that one more time , you know what you need to go to a different bar. This is not going to work out" I was waiting for almost a hour for her to mistreat and embarrass me. This bartender should not treat paying customers or any guests of this establishment in that manner as if it was her personal bar and not a job for a business she works for. I hate to write this but it needs to be addressed. My pals and I came here over spring break and left utterly disappointed. The service and cleanliness wasn't the issue: it was the food. I ordered the seafood nachos seeing how they got an award for their nachos and ended up getting seasick - literally. While the plate should've been hot, was cold as could be. The seafood? cold and wet, lingering the rawness . one bite left me running to the bathroom. Dangerous? yes. My friends also complained of cold wings and nachos, so I wasn't alone. This is your typical tourist trap, the food was okay, our sever did not seem knowledgeable about the menu, and some folks were dressed nice while others were in their swimsuits in the dinning area. Our table wasn't very clean and we needed to wipe it down before sitting. We sat upstairs on the deck for great people watching and the view of the lake. We needed to ask our server several times for various items during our stay (i.e. side of sour cream, bacon ordered with meal) Drinks were delicious, although they didn't have any ice cream therefore our server said they couldn't make mudslides. read more

We came here for lunch and LOVED the food. The service was also good. It was busy - but the food came out rather quick. We discovered there was a pool bar, so we returned later that night to hangout. 4/5 stars for the restaurant side! The pool was a little wild for us. Lots of horseplay for a pool bar. The DJ wasn't great, there was a band setting up - they played one song and then stopped playing. There was throw up all over both boys and girls bathrooms, and many people throwing up on the rocks. Reminded us of Vegas but a lot less classy. The drinks were ok. We ordered the same drink each time and they never tasted the same. There were a lot of people over served, to the point they were falling asleep in the water - which was a little scary. They do have security, who were kicking lots of people out. I came here for lunch with some friends and sat by the window to enjoy the views of the water because it was too cold to sit outside. The restaurant is very casual and it looks like during warmer seasons it would be very busy and a big party scene. I ordered the shrimp tacos which tasted alright but it only came with 2 tacos. I changed my side to a side Caesar salad which was a big portion and tasted good. The nachos are huge, I would highly suggest getting them if you're sharing. You better be in the spunky kind of mood to be entertained here. One large party!! knowing that they except dogs, we brought ours. What a great time. Huge pool, great staff, great music, excellent service and they are packed. We all shared beers and crab legs and stayed in the shade during the hot days. Docking the boat there was awful because the waves are crashing into their dock area, so leave the boat at home. LOL.... but for surely my boys loved it and wanted to stay longer. We spent a few days in Osage Beach earlier this year with another couple, and Dog Days is exactly the kind of place we like to visit when we spend time at Lake of the Ozarks - places where you can sit outside by the water while you enjoy your meal. Dog Days is one of our favorites. The atmosphere is festive, because life on the lake is one big summer party, and they do all they can to facilitate that vibe. The food is always consistent, and there is just nothing better than sitting out on a nice deck on a sunny day and enjoying a delicious meal with friends while sitting next to the water. The waitstaff is always hopping taking care of so many people, but we've never had to wait long for anything. They check in with you regularly to make sure everything is to your liking, and I really have never had a bad time here. The last time I was there, I had the Trio of Shrimp Dumplings, which was wonderful. Each dumpling had a different combination of flavors and it was a dish that I might have expected at a much pricier, more upscale type of place. Definitely a nice surprise. The menu is extremely varied, and it would be difficult not to find something to your liking with this many choices. I strongly recommend this place, and I can't wait to go back! read more

We stopped here for lunch on a day of boating on the lake. It's like a hidden gem! The portions were HUGE (especially the nachos). For lunch, it was a bit on the pricey side, but the food was really tasty overall. Service was okay. They also have this outdoor pool/bar area where you can go in the water with your drinks. - Chipotle bacon turkey melt (4/5): this was surprisingly delicious! The chipotle sauce it comes with is amazing, great flavor. This wasn't a huge portion just a regular sandwich size, but it was packed with flavor. Baked potato was average - Seafood nachos (4/5): this was HUGE, like 3 people could probably share it. But the shrimp and scallops tasted pretty fresh considering we're in the middle of Missouri! I ordered the birria tacos, BIG mistake. Got served three hard shell tacos with unseasoned chicken and plastic cheese on top. No consumè. where the consumè at? I asked. She said in the taco. It was not in the taco. It didn't exist. Waiter didn't know the first thing about birria tacos, or any sort of seasoned food for that matter. The entire staff doesn't. We really enjoyed our lunch here. We are on the patio in the bar area and really enjoyed the band. We had a part of seven and we're seated fairly quickly. We went in July and it was busy- both with the dock and walk-ins. There are stairs to navigate if you sit on the patio, and you have to go up into the restaurant for the bathroom. The good is good! I had the chicken sandwich with pineapple/ham/Swiss. I really enjoyed it. Their fries are good. In our party we had wings, wraps, burgers, tacos, and plenty of drinks. Dog Days Bar & Grill is our go-to when we vacation in Osage Beach. The pools are rad, the menu is solid and the frozen drinks are what I look forward to each trip down to Osage Beach. BUT, we didn't get to to experience the awesome atmosphere this year-- because of COVID. Gosh, isn't that just like it?! Taking away all the normal and the fun out of summer?! Our first night of a socially distanced vacation, we decided to call in an order and pick it up. But also, to just seeeee what exactly dining there looked like. (Fingers crossed a meal on the patio was an option later on in the trip!) Wishful thinking. No distance. No limiting the number of folks. No patron face masks. No STAFF face masks. No additional cleaning protocols. That all being said, the takeout was devoured by all. (I'm not sure I've ever had anything I didn't like.) And since Missouri legalized to-go cocktails through the end of the year... my piña colada was thoroughly enjoyed, as well. Hopefully next summer I get to experience Dog Days as my beloved summer vacation oasis. This year, however, was not the case. read more

We ordered drinks which the bartender makes one at a time, so that seemed to take the longest, but ohh so tasty. I had a frozen mudslide-delicious! My wife had the grilled mahi mahi fish tacos. My wife liked the fish tacos but they had some heat and no sweetness to bring down the heat. The fish portion was good for both tacos. I enjoyed the burger which was moist and delicious. The fries are good here with seasoning and are fried crispy. The broccoli was poorly cooked and still raw in portions. Whoever the bartender is out at the swim up bar with a full beard is an absolute asshole. I closed out my tab every time I purchased a drink and every-time I left a tip. I would buy 2 drinks, or something small every time. He was expecting a 3-4 dollar tip every purchase. I would tip him the money he deserved every time but I'm sorry I didn't tip you 4 dollars for you to hand me 2 beers. in result he cut us off for "not tipping enough".
