We visited on a Monday for the AYCE option and had a great experience. Since we arrived right at opening, parking was easy and we were seated right away. Our server was very attentive, which was especially nice since we were among the first customers there. A few things to note: there is a 90-minute dining limit, and everyone at the table shares the same seafood bag, so your group will need to agree on one sauce flavor per round. We only made it through two rounds, but everything we ordered was delicious. The fries were crispy, and the mussels, shrimp, and clams were all meaty. The sauce was flavorful and complemented the seafood well. We finished the meal with the fried Oreo and ice cream, which was the perfect sweet ending. Shrimp Heads is still around after opening to much fanfare before the pandemic. It was one of the first seafood boil restaurants to set up shop outside of the Convoy District back in the day. The building has the shape of an old school Pizza Hut with light blue paint on the exterior. I believe its predecessor was a Vietnamese eatery. A small dedicated parking lot was available to the right and back of the structure. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A large countertop was in the front of the room, however a sign explicitly stated that seating was not allowed there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That was not the case when the business first opened. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The rest of the dining room had lots of four top tables that could be pushed together if you had a large party. I would say the seating capacity was around 60.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A worker brought me to a table and laid out a large sheet of wax paper to serve as a tablecloth and/or the surface on which a boil bag contents would be placed. The two-sided menu had build your own seafood boils, bucket deals, and combo meals featured on one page. Starters, oysters, special entrees, soup, and dessert were also on this side. The other page listed the fried baskets, weekday specials, and beverages. Unfortunately, the Gumbo was sold out during my visit which was one item that I really wanted to try. I waffled between the Garlic Noodles with Shrimp and the Shrimp & Grits that were each priced at $16. The latter was my choice with mild spiciness. A shallow dish containing a bed of grits with eight pieces of shrimp was brought to my table in about 10 minutes. A fiery looking sauce (tobasco?) was applied on top of the grits, but it looked a lot meaner than it tasted. If anything, the sauce made this entree quite salty. Great concept & great menu--I love how the AYCE includes appetizers, soda, and typical seafood boil add ons like potatoes, eggs, sausages, etc. However, they didn't execute it for me...I learned that seafood boil is definitely a quality over quantity type of meal. Half of the shrimp and crawfish we had were dead, so the taste and texture wasn't there. The clams and mussels were very sandy. The sauce was good but medium spice didn't have any kick at all but the next flavor was "atomic" which is very intimidating (I regret not trying the next level up though). That said, they were pretty stingy with the sauce, barely enough to coat everything. I noticed they don't use much garlic compared to other seafood boil spots. The calamari was disappointing- very tough and rubbery. The zucchini fries weren't very good either. It also appeared dark, as if they used old oil(?).. I enjoyed the warm hospitality and attentiveness. Currently they offer AYCE on select nights. I wasn't that hungry so I went with their specials offered til 5pm. Very affordable and good options. I went with the shrimp boil, which came with 1 corn, 1 potato and 2 bite size sausage, and I selected mild house sauce. The sauce was oily and lacked flavor. I opted for butter and lemon later. Came here because I saw they offer AYCE on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday for $39.99 per person. They don't allow each person to have their own individual bag so my friend and I shared. If your friend doesn't eat the same spice level as you, then you'd have to just order a difference spice level sauce on the side.($2 each) You can pick 4 seafood option at a time and they come in 1/2 pounds.
