I ordered some amazing food from here ! The Honeydip Taco - Fried Chicken, Melted Monterey Jack/Cheddar cheese, Pico de gallo, Honey mustard, with a real honey drizzle - a foodie taco delight ! I even indulged further with the soft taco pressed into a hard taco - a must try ! I also had to give the Shrimpy Quesadilla a go too - Grilled shrimp, melted cheese, pico de gallo & special shrimpy sauce. Maybe Shrimpys has worked out some early issues, because I was pleasantly surprised by my meal! I had the Shaka burrito with chicken -- the tortilla was lightly toasted, and the burrito was packed with fresh ingredients. The chicken tasted good, the rice was prepared nicely, and there was a lot of melted cheese to keep things gooey and interesting. The burrito was a good size, too! Definitely enough to fill me up as a big lunch. The space was clean and, though I came after the lunch rush, it seemed like they had it together for both in-person and mobile orders. My order of three burritos came out in roughly 7 minutes, not bad considering they had a steady stream of takeout orders to tackle throughout my time there. The honey burrito was amazing. Taste so delicious. I've never had a burrito like it. The shrimp quesadillas were just great.

I was initially very excited when Shrimpys opened in the old DD location and my interest quickly faded after I got sick from eating here once and still decided to come back again, two more times since it's a local business and I wanted to support it. The next two times, the order was wrong, like very wrong to the point where I have to ask how it makes sense. One time was literally just rice in a wrap, literally just rice! I didn't even call and ask, no sense, it's easier to just not come back. As much as I wanted this place to succeed, I can't say I care anymore, all of the kids working here are trying but don't really know what they are doing and this affects the quality of the service and food. Wow. Honestly have to say this was the blandest Mexican food I have ever had, anywhere in the World. Called in my order, guy in the phone steered me into the wrong taco...didnt seem to know their menu. Was told 25-30 min, got there in 15 and it was sitting on the counter. There was a line of people, one of two counter person was trying to help people...other was playing with the store cordless phone. Took over 5 min to be helped....after spinning the screen and asking for a tip, the kid actually read the receipt as it printed to see what I tipped and then shot me a nasty look!! As for the food, nachos with beef were tasteless, very little besides chips, chopped green peppers and a huge drizzle of sour cream. Also had Bang taco, steak was totally tasteless and cold. Finally had Shrimpy Taco, no spice or flavor and was soggy. For $30 we didn't even eat half of this food!!! Did I leave anything out? It tastes so good I feel like my head is going to explode! I have to force myself to stop eating it, saving about 1/4th of it for another day. The counter staff are very friendly and sweet. Service is speedy. The Thursday burrito special has gone from $9.99 to $10.99 to $11.99, which I don't like. But it beats the regular price of $16.99. Cost was average, service was ok the person that took care of me was not friendly and when I asked if the burrito can come in a bowl she said yes but it's extra, I said ok. We ordered two "Strong Island Burritos" (surf n' turf) and one "North 'Pork' Burrito," and they completely blew us away. Not only were the portions massive, but the flavors were incredible. I got the Shrimpy burrito. It was not tiny, not massive. Flavor was good although could have used a little more *oopmh*. However, the ingredients were fresh, so some added points there. Yeah, it was not cheap, but... all the food here is really expensive. Why pick on this one place? This area *always* fights proposed developments of the type of housing that employees working at a burrito shop (in a shiny, new renovated building that also wasn't free) can actually afford. So I'm not sure how people are surprised that burritos here cost ~$15-18. High demand for housing, low supply. Which equals low supply of people in service industry, which drives up prices. Then the second time I got half way through the burrito and the shrimp tasted real fishy and I had to spit it all out and everything almost came up after that. Absolutely horrible. My first and last time I'll ever go there. First of all, it's too expensive, and all of the menu is confusing as hell. I ordered the adult size shrimp platter, I got five.. yes five shrimp and all french fries. Tons of fries for $15.59. I got an empanada the size of my thumb, the menu is misleading where they charged sn extra $1.04, when it said shrimp OR steak, with no indication that the shrimp would cost more... but it did. Another menu item was mispriced as well. We ordered chips as a separate order for almost $5, and they threw them into the regular meal ordered, and there was only a couple, and they were stale. The people working there are kids in high school at best, so it wasn't even worth talking with them. Very very disappointing, and I hope that they don't make it, and a new business ends up taking over. I'll never be able to utilize that restaurant again, and I live right in town.
