I loved this place! They were super informative, and friendly. I got two different types of oysters, but I can't remember what they were called. All I remembered was that the oysters were amazing! I was skeptical at first since I had never had oysters off the street before, but I am so glad I did. The oysters were shuck and placed on a cute, wooden tray. I know my experience appears to be atypical (based on reading the reviews of others), but the following reflects my experience yesterday, while visiting for a mid-afternoon lunch. Our party of two was seated relatively quickly, but the service went steeply downhill from there. It took over 15 minutes after being seated for anyone to even come to the table. As the menus had already been on the table, we went ahead and ordered food and drinks on this first server visit. Although my wife's oyster order came out about 20 minutes later, her salad and my lobster roll arrived over an hour later. My wife's salad and oysters were good, but the lobster roll and fries had issues. The lobster roll was very sparse on meat (not claw meat) with lots of mayo. I upgraded the regular fries to Parmesan truffle fries and was charged a full $5 for the upgrade, and the serving size was paltry. After finishing our food, we waited and waited for our check. After it arrived, I already had my card ready and quickly added it to the bill. Again, we waited and waited for someone to pick it up. Twenty minutes later, my wife walks in and hands it to the greeter. We waited another 15 minutes before someone brought out the receipt to be signed. If you have lots and lots of time to kill, then go for it...but avoid the sub-standard lobster roll. read more

Awesome lunch here today! So great to find a casual restaurant with a unique menu to choose from. Then predominantly oyster and smoked fish menu is a nice change from the areas standard seafood fare. The casual restaurant has nice outside seating or a few tables and bar seating inside where you can watch them shuck the oyster and learn more about your selection. So many area oysters to pick from! Loved the map on the menu as you can see where your oysters were harvested. I love that this place highlights an ingredient that is so special to the area!! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about all the food and especially the oysters. We thoroughly enjoyed the Taste of the River which is a sampling of three types of oysters, total a dozen. They were all excellent and very fresh ! Great menu with a nice, unique variety of things to pick from that we will have to return to try more things. It was hard to choose what to have but we really enjoyed the Bao buns, fried oysters with pickled veggies in steamed buns. So good and came with house chips. At first, we thought it would be just a funny experience to try an oyster from a side cart, but we soon learned that they were some of the best oysters we've ever had. My sister-in-law and I had our first raw oysters at this small, unassuming food cart, and they were even better than we imagined. We started off with one each, and the guy behind the cart scooped two huge oysters out of his cooler and shucked them right in front of our eyes. He asked how we wanted them served (mine with a squeeze of lemon and a dab of cocktail sauce), and down they went. Oh my god, they were delightful. Super fresh, tender, and sweet. One bite, and they dissolved into the purest essence of the sea. We immediately ordered 4 more to make it a round half dozen, and he gave us two different types of oysters to try, both as delicious as the first. It was such a pleasant way to spend 15 minutes, standing out on Exchange Street enjoying oysters while curious tourists wandered by. The guy running the cart was friendly and professional. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves oysters or who is curious about trying raw oysters. Seems like just a roadside stop--BUT -- the oysters were to die for!! So many options -- and so fresh! The staff was extremely knowledgeable & made suggestions as to the different characteristics of each oyster. Everyone was appropriately masked -- dining was all outdoors -- and hand sanitizer was everywhere -- and when signing the credit card receipt -- I was offered a pen from the "clean pen" can & asked to put it in the "used pen" can when I was finished. A magical afternoon! We were craving oysters and found the Shuck Station on Main Street. The selection is amazing. We tried every oyster on the menu as you can buy per piece or by the half dozen. All were worth being in the menu and it was fun to taste and compare. They have champagne and our favorite San Sebastián wine - Txakali wine.
