Many people enjoy the interaction that we engage in at the post office, the gas station, the barber shop, the butcher, the fruit store, etc. Here there seems to be a very definite history of the great staff members moving on, sometimes with little or no notice, and it has impacted the comfort level for me, and for many of the people who also frequented the store. The product has been good, at times excellent, but the overall experience has been greatly diminished by some real nice people who were employed there leaving. I don't feel the same joy supporting a business that seems to have a pattern of upsetting what appears to be excellent employees, and this is by no means a negative statement on the new people who come in to replace the one's who leave. I sure the new ones are very nice too. It all just creates this sense of sadness and negativity about and towards the ownership and overall establishment. I guess in life some of us reach an age, or a point, where what we put in our body has to do with more than the food itself. It connects to the vibe, the humanity factor, the trust, etc. I have stopped going to Local 130 after the last person left, almost without exception. And I am a customer who was there a minimum of once a week for several years.

Spent a day on the boardwalk and stopped in here because the menu looked like one of the…read morebetter-balanced options around - a nice mix of salads, tacos, oysters, seafood, and lighter fare. There are a few seating options: outdoor seating right on the boardwalk (about a 30-minute wait when we arrived), indoor dining with no wait, or bar seating which is first-come, first-served. We initially put our name in for the boardwalk wait but ended up being seated almost immediately after checking out the bar area. The hostesses were incredibly friendly and welcoming, both at the front and in the back. Service throughout the meal was definitely on the slower side, although our waiter was pleasant and polite. One small thing that bothered me: when I ordered bottled water, the glasses appeared to be taken from a neighboring table that had been sitting there. They may have been perfectly clean and unused, but psychologically I'd rather receive fresh glasses. Not a huge issue, just something I noticed. Now for the food. The crab cake was excellent - easily the highlight of my meal. My friend ordered oysters, and I tried one as well. They were fresh and delicious. For my entree, I asked for a salad recommendation and was steered toward the peach salad. Unfortunately, this was a miss. The peaches were hard and unripe, and the dressing was so vinegar-heavy that I found it nearly impossible to eat. My friend was hungry and less picky than I am, so he ended up finishing it. I politely mentioned the issue to our waiter, making it clear I wasn't looking for anything removed from the bill since the salad had still been eaten. After that interaction, though, it felt like he disappeared for much of the evening, and we had to flag him down to get a dessert menu. Ironically, I decided not to follow his recommendation this time and ordered the chocolate cake instead. Great decision. It was absolutely delicious and ended up being another highlight of the meal. Have you ever had one of those experiences where every recommendation is somehow the wrong one for you? It happens. This is a beachfront restaurant, and maybe the salad was just an off day. The only reason I'm mentioning it is to save someone else from ordering that particular salad if the kitchen is preparing it the same way. Overall: friendly staff, great location, excellent crab cake, fresh oysters, delicious chocolate cake, decent drinks, but slow service and a disappointing peach salad. I'd definitely return - I'd just skip the salad next time.

We got the doggy chicken with the side of mashed potatoes and the pup cup for dessert. She dogged the chicken and mashed potatoes, but unfortunately wasn't too into the pup cup (which is a shame because it's so cute, but maybe she was full!) Now for the humans -- we ordered the sweet chili wings and a side of the sweet potato fries. The wings also come with a side of carrots and celery along with a choice of ranch or bleu cheese. I loved the sweet chili sauce and kept redipping into it. I wish the order came with more celery and carrots. The food and beers/cider came out rather quickly. The server came by every so often to check up on us and brought napkins without us having to ask! The dessert was amazing; the combination of the ice cream and the ooey gooey-ness of the cookie was the perfect end to our beach day. We barely left any whip cream. Since we went during LDW, the vibe inside was almost opposite what it was outside. But that may carry over during other times. Only downside of this visit was the wait time to be seated...and it was not because there weren't seats available. It was a bit strange standing around while the host wasn't really doing anything :/ But everything else was great!

I ordered the steak tip sandwich with French fries, and it was absolutely delicious--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and very satisfying. My brother went with a salad and couldn't stop talking about how outstanding it was, which says a lot. Great food, welcoming atmosphere, and thoughtful service. If you're in Asbury Park, I highly recommend stopping by Kim Marie's. We'll definitely be back.

They even have seating that is cushioned and more of a lounge feel. Love that. Only downside is the music they were playing was sad lol personal taste, I know. We went on a Friday for a late lunch. Just rather not listen to sad music while I'm drinking. The service was great. Our waiter was so nice and ON IT! She didn't miss a beat. Even to be seated, we walked up from the beach, with our beach stuff. They allowed us to bring our beach bag, beach chair and cooler to the table. We were seated outside and it wasn't packed but it was busy. Okay so now the food! Food was okay. The wings were the best thing we had. The calamari was good and light. The sauce it came with was good. The fried shrimp and calamari came with the same sauce. Wouldn't get both of them together again. The fries with cheese sauce were okay. I think they put beer in the sauce. I tried to look on the menu to see if it said, but it didn't. Not that it was bad, it was just different. Biggest let down was the crab melt away I was so sad about that one. Think pita bread with a huge layer of crab dip. The center was still kind of cold. And it was just too much for that thin bread it was on. The filling on top just slid off every time I tried to pick it up. It wasn't a hit for me. I think that filling would be good on some bread, rather than a very thin pita. Didn't hate it, just wasn't impressed, don't think I would do it again. Maybe if I saw it came out on bread. Idk. The center was still cold also so I'm not sure. lol. The Pina colada came out cute and was tasty. Loved that. Last thing I want to mention, this is more of a "chill" spot now. The utensils are all plastic, plates all plastic, cups all plastic. Very chill vibe (not a complaint) I think I would go back to this place for wings and drinks. And to just hang out with friends and enjoy the view because the view is TO DIE FOR.

There is NO excuse for that (like literally, I was the only person sitting at the bar - they were not slammed). The food is tasty. Great big sushi rolls although the individual soy holders they give were clearly designed by someone who doesn't eat sushi (too shallow). I also was charged full price for a happy hour drink (I told the bartender and he rectified it). Just seems like this place needs a little more managerial oversight. HOWEVER, bc of the location and HH, I will be back...it's just not at the top of my list.
