Grass jelly milk tea with bubbles.
    Tommy C.

The staff was really polite and friendly and I waited for less than 3 minutes for the drinks while there were three orders in front of me. The drink was delicious but a little sweet with a lot grass jelly. I will request for less sugar next time.

The AYCE comes with your choice of one soup base for free, but you can get multiple split pots for an additional cost. You get your DIY sauce station with light snacks on the side like fruit, edamame beans, tomatoes, etc. With the AYCE late night special, you have to get up to grab all your own ingredients other than the meats that get brought out to you. Of course the menu selection is smaller than their usual dining but it's quite worth it imo. You can get proteins like marbled beef, lamb shoulder, pork, chicken, and flat iron steak. For the other hot pot classics and vegetable options you can find things like quail eggs, frozen tofu, fish tofu, konjac noodles, imitation crab, assortment of fish balls, cabbage, enoki mushroom, and much more. Service is great as always and very attentive. You can expect long waits even late at night so best to make a reservation in advance. Overall, a great deal with some great food, especially if you're looking for some late night eats.

The interior leans heavily into traditional Chinese decor, giving it a more immersive, themed feel than your typical hotpot place. They even have gowns you can choose from if you want to dress up a bit and lean into the experience, which adds a fun touch. Not something you see everywhere. Service 4/5 Service was smooth overall. Staff were attentive and things came out at a good pace. It hasn't been overly busy the times I've gone, so hard to say how it holds up during peak hours, but no issues from my visits so far. Food 3.5/5 Solid selection of hotpot ingredients, with enough variety to keep things interesting. Quality was consistent across the board. They also have a bamboo-style drink that stands out visually and fits the whole theme well. Nothing felt lacking, but also nothing that completely blew past expectations. One thing I did notice is it hasn't been packed during my visits, which either means I've been going at quieter times or there are aspects I haven't fully experienced yet during peak hours. Still, for the atmosphere, parking convenience, and overall quality, it's an easy spot to come back to.

Making it an internationally recognized hot pot chain in Asia, Europe, North America and UAE. This GTA location has been serving guests for almost 10 years. Finally got to try this restaurant and it did not disappoint. We visited for the all-you-can-eat option and got the dual sided pot so we could have two different base broths. Tomato soup base broth and house special pork broth. Loved it. But you could also opt for the a la carte option if you don't want to do the AYCE. We did the AYCE option which was very good. Much like Little Sheep, Haidilao, Daimaru Shabu Shabu, you can mix your own dipping sauce at the D.I.Y. self-serve sauce bar. It also has appetizers and desserts. I liked it so much that I shamelessly came back to Liuyishou Hotpot the following week for more hot pot! Both times I ordered a variety of proteins, quality meats, vegetables, rice, noodles and tofu. Service was outstanding. Ambiance was great. The decor was on point. Music was greatIce cream at the end of your meal was a nice touch. This place is a must try.

This Scarborough location has been around for a long time as seen by the dated interior. Nonetheless it's still popular with some good promos to compete among the huge swath of Asian restaurants in this plaza. We chose an array of hotpot broths including the house special spicy, sukiyaki, pork bone broth & tomato soup. We came here to celebrate a family occasion, and Liuyishou delivered with its good selection of broths, meats, seafood, and veggies. The $8 Wagyu add-on on weekend was a nice upgrade--thinly sliced, tender, and worth trying if you want something a bit more indulgent. The $3.99 all-you-can-drink station was a pleasant surprise too, making it easy to keep refilling without thinking twice. Service was quick even despite it being relatively busy and a bit loud during dinner peak. Note the pricing per adult ($34.99 weekend dinner) excludes the soup base which is about $17 for a large shareable pot or $9 for an individual sized pot per guest so the bill can rack up. The wagyu and drinks are add-ons too. They do have a 2 adult + 1 kid family combo for $73.99 on weekends with one drink pitcher excluding soup base. Dessert is included such as taro soft serve, rice ball soup & cold jelly. Skip it or hit it? Hit it for a casual, authentic hotpot experience. Wish they replaced the worn seats.

There was a big triangle table that people sit side by side. And also table of 4 or table of 8. We have 3 people that be reserved a table of 4. They have lunch menu that we could have customized noodle soup or the personal Shabu Shabu. I had a coconut TomYum noodle soup with beef and shrimp. And my husband had a 2 meat shabu shabu with teriyaki base. The meat we chose beef and lamb. The teriyaki base came pretty quick. We started boiling the base and then we got the 2 bowls of meat, 1 bowl of vegetables, and a bowl of the noodles. The base was pretty sweet, but still good with all the ingredients. The dipping sauces were set on a central table that we made our own. I like sesame oil, sesame sauce, Shacha sauce with green onion and cilantro to mix them up. My coconut Tom Yum soup came a bit late. The meat was a good portion, the shrimp was 3 big pieces of tiger shrimp. And there was some veggies at the bottom with noodles. They were all in good portion, the only problem was the soup, it didn't seem to have coconut in it, the taste and the color looked like Tom Yum soup only. For lunch time, my Shabu Shabu was $16.xx+tax and my noodles soup was $9.80+tax. The price was pretty decent. I would like to come back and try other combinations.

Food quality was okay because the items are sitting out in the open area for you to grab. It is AYCE hot pot, but you need to pay for the broth ($16.99). We had the choice to choose 4 additional "premium items" for free, but these items were just OK. The meats and premium items are ordered through the iPad, and the rest of the foods, you can serve yourself at the food bar. I like that there were so many different options, including a hot food bar, deep fried appetizers, dessert bar, drinks, sauce bar, snack bar, and dessert bar. Seats are very spacious and the restaurant itself is massive. I'm rating this restaurant 3/5 because of the lack of service and freshness/quality of food. The hotpot itself was good, but I was surprised that the broth was an additional charge, especially for an all-you-can-eat experience. The food selection was okay, but some of the items had clearly been sitting out for a while and didn't taste particularly fresh. The biggest issue, however, was the service. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, we waited around 5-10 minutes just to be seated. After that, it took another 5-10 minutes for someone to bring us the iPad and explain how the ordering system worked. Throughout the meal, the service was almost nonexistent, and we had to wait or flag someone down whenever we needed assistance. Overall, the food was decent for an AYCE hotpot, but the lack of freshness and especially the poor service made the experience less enjoyable than it should have been.
