We LOVE Si Señor! My boyfriend and I tried it out for the first time almost 2 years ago, when we skipped one of our college classes and wanted some Mexican food. We have always gotten exceptional servers and they recognize us now when we come in! Even if something has gotten messed up, they are quick to fix it and make sure things have been made right. We are incredibly patient and happy people so we've never had any complaints. This is a fun and upbeat atmosphere. We've been there for our first and second anniversary and intend to be there for our third as well! It holds a special place in our hearts and of course you can't beat the food! When you drive up to this restaurant you will find two entrances. One of which is on a somewhat main road and the other that appears to run along a neighborhood. The outside decor seems slightly above typical for most Americanized Mexican restaurants. The highlight of which are the tables. The tables are done with a colorful mosaic of tiles unique to Latin American culture. When you walk in you are greeted with (what I imagine) a greeting meant to make you feel as if you are transported to Mexico. The host was very pleasant with her "Hola amigos!" There was prompt seating and a prompt greeting from the server. What I did find noteworthy is something I find with almost every Latin American restaurant I have been to is: the "server" never looks at you. They always seem to look out the window or their notepad. And I use the term server more as a position reference. They never seem to guide you through the menu. I asked the server about the menu and what was most popular. He seemed reluctant to give an opinion. But, maybe he was new. If you come here looking for the same dishes you will find in most places, then you are in luck. One staple found in most Mexican-American restaurants I did not find was a queso dip. Some restaurants will carry their own version of the dish. But not here. The rest of the service was standard. Not great. Not terrible. There were only 8 tables in the restaurant that day for lunch. Would recommend just as a means to an end. If you are hungry and can't decide it is not a bad option. But would not make an overall effort specifically for this restaurant. Beautiful decor and delicious food. This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. It's very busy even on weekdays, but not so much so that you have to wait long to be seated. There's Mexican music playing, but it's hard to hear it due to the noise from all the people in the restaurant. Service was a bit slow, but I can forgive it since they were so busy. Most of their portions are large, and the prices are high ($18). I think I'd prefer lower prices and smaller sized meals. The restrooms are very nicely designed (the walls, the countertops, etc.). The sinks are a bit low to accommodate kids, which is nice. They give you complimentary salted thin tortilla chips with salsa and bean dip, but no complimentary dessert at the end of the meal. read more

I love the vibe of this place. It's really cute and has the chairs that I want for my house (the carved ones with the different scenes. I looked extensively and did not see my pretty palomino horse one though.) The my Aunt (from Mexico) got a kick out of the authentic menu and explained when you would eat each of the items. Apparently one is particularly good as a hang over cure. Which, after enjoying their happy hour, you very well may want to try. I had fajitas the first time and they were great as expected. This time I had a chili relleno and enchilada, which were about on par for American Mexican food. My family and I often visit Si Señor to celebrate family happenings or to simply have a meal together. It's as amazing an environment for both a planned event as it is for a spontaneous drop in for evening drinks or a quick appetizer, and the food reflects high-quality ingredients and the care that goes into the preparation of the meals. I always set out to try something new on the menu, and I have yet to be disappointed by any of my choices. The portions are large enough to share between two people, and I find myself eating my fill and then having enough for a meal on the next day. Dishes are usually served with rice, pico de gallo, and refried beans, all of which arrive hot and ready to enjoy. Upon arriving, each table will be given a basket of chips, salsa, and refried beans. To this day, my mother says that salsa is some of the best that she has tried. Food is brought out quickly and always hot. On Thursdays, a mariachi band plays in the evening! Both inside and outside seating is available, although the outside seating is in the direct path of pollen, so try to avoid the outside tables if you have pollen allergies or are sensitive to pollen. Overall, Si Señor provides a very comfortable place to eat and to enjoy the company of the people around you. The food is great as is the environment that Si Señor creates! Purchased street tacos but they were horribly bland. Corn tortillas left a sour aftertaste.Tried the enchilada and chimichanga but again, no flavor to the shredded meat. Glad I got take out as dinners didn't wear masks coming in or leaving. Employee at outside Kiosk kept her nose out of her mask...so that was not great either. This was the perfect late night option on a Saturday (closes at 11). Got there at 10 PM, had non-rushed, attentive, and friendly service. Isiah was an amazing server and damn impressed with this Irishman's Spanish skills. It is always good to be proficient in any extra languages when it comes to fine food. Best chicken taco that I have had. Wife's veggie / salad / thing was huge and fresh. She was in tree-hugger heaven. Salsa was flavourful, a wee bit spicy, but went well with refried beans to dip that warm, fresh chips in. Great menu with some traditional offerings to off-set the tex-mex style that people claim to be authentic. This place is a keeper. Out of any place I have been to for Mexican. This place by far is the best. The shrimp ceviche was very good but could have been colder but really good. The margaritas are so big cheap and very very good. I got a three combination plate. One beef, one chicken taco and a chicken enchilada. The chicken was not over cooked and dried out. I felt discouraged after a job interview, and Si Señor was steps away, beckoning me with lunch specials and instant chips and salsa since I was hungry before the 1:00 interview. There was a wide menu selection, and their happy hour menu laughed at me with a $4.25 house margarita-mine was $9. But delicious, it definitely took the sting off of a bad interview. The Piccadilly beef in my enchilada was very good, a deep slow cooked flavor with nice firm shreds of tender beef, giving you a sense of accomplishment after your fork has to do some work to cut it. The whole pinto beans were very good as well. The service was fantastic, with friendliness from several staff. The waiter was great, I always felt taken care of but not rushed. I wasn't fond of the chile relleno-like most places they seem to use too much egg in their batter so it's almost an omelet and it felt very mushy with an odd taste. Also, my chips were a bit stale. Overall, it was a great experience as I rarely done alone-the patio was beautiful with plants, a fountain and a bit of shade. They do a great job of making you forget you're on a busy street. I LOVED THIS PLACE! I had driven by it a handful of times, and of course, Mexican food, so it caught my eye... but I always assumed due to the bright paint on the windows and I think a frog holding a margarita (?), I thought. 'Nah, this must be some 'burb place.' YEah. NO. We went. We arrived and were seated around 130pm, Friday and IT WAS PACKED! :D I was EXCITED! The pleasant hostess lead the way to our seats, and we passed a salsa bar and I knew I already wanted to live there. There were bright reds, oranges, greens, fresh jalepenos and onions, roasted & pureed beautiful'ness laid before me and my guy gently nudged me along. We were seated about 12 steps away. Not too far. Not far enough. ;) Salsa arrived with fresh, warm and obvs house made chips. I was already getting the other salsa lovins' from the bar. They don't have metal/resuable containers, they were plastic and I didn't like that one bit. This is why they have lost a whole star. I know. #HowPortland, but Plastic Island people. It's a real thing. I digress. The salsa was some of the best I've had in a long while! All unique in flavor, hot, mild, fresh! I want some of that spicy-as-it-wants-to-be green sauce right now! Guy got carne asada burrito. Duh. I got shredded beef taco and chili relleno. Duh. The service was friendly and I could tell our waitor was busy. He was all smiles and brought our drinks back within 8 mins or so. The margaritas were DELICIOUS and tequila shined through. Ice tea PERFECT ice ratio and great fresh brewed flavor. Don't get take-out. We picked up food here on the way home one night, the the food really suffered for it. First, there was some metallic transfer from the foil containers to the food. Have you ever chewed on tin foil? It's not fun. There was like 1/100 of that experience in the food; i'm not sure how, but it sucked. Second, the food got way cold on the 5 minute drive home. It was toasty when they gave it to us, but by the time we sat down to eat, it was cold. Ignoring (as much as possible) those two issues, i think this would be very good food. This is THE 'go to' Mexican restaurant on the west side. Don't screw around, step up to The Perfect Cadillac margarita, you will not be sorry. Newbies to this drink should clear their calendars for the following day. It only costs a few bucks more, but it's so worth it. Best secret menu item discovery ever? Enchiladas Montadas with Barbacoa. Guess what? It's only on the lunch menu, so you have to specifically request it at dinner. Don't worry, they'll make it happen for you! Hence the name, Si Señor! We've celebrated a lot of family events and good times here, and we've never been disappointed. Never a stale chip. Never bad service. Always friendly folks. Si Senor (or "Yes Man" as I refer to it) is my go-to for Mexican food and is a great (yeah not good, GREAT) place to eat. Sadly I have come to realize this due to the multiple times I have strayed away in search of something more. And every time I go to a different Mexican Restaurant (Chez Jose, La Bamba, Azteca, La Cosita, La Fogata, Mazatlan, the list goes on...) I end up feeling like I have cheated on my cheerleader girlfriend with some bus-stop whore... The staff is always friendly , they usually remember what drinks we like to order and I have never had a bad customer service experience while eating there. The food is way better than your average Mexican joint, but there menu looks more like every other Mexican restaurant and not high end like places such as Authentica. The Chili Colorado, Al Pastor and Chili Relleno (one of the best Chili Rellenos i have ever had) are some of my personal favorites. Yes, the visual appeal is not the greatest, tucked inside a strip mall in a Fred Myer parking lot I had low expectations the first time I walked in, but there consistency for awesome food, great service and deep drinks have won me over. I LOVE this restaurant. It's pretty standard American-Mexican food fare but there are some things on the menu that are more authentic. They have an excellent leg of goat that is so tender and delicious. We go to this restaurant all the time, especially on birthdays. Along with the sombrero and song we usually get a shot of tequila gratis for the birthday person! Date Visited: Sunday 3/23/08 (Dinner) Somewhat too hidden on the side of the strip mall by the Fred Meyer, Si Senor is an average Mexican restaurant. A group of us were supposed to go to an Italian restaurant down the street on this Easter Sunday, but the restaurant decided to close for the day, despite saying they would be open. Brilliant. That's okay...I've always wanted to try Si Senor and what better time to do it? We were a larger group of 11 people. This restaurant doesn't seem the sort that easily hosts larger parties, but they managed to squeeze us into an "L" shaped configuration. Service was actually very good and friendly. They took good care of us and made sure that we always had what we needed. The chips and salsa are key to a good Mexican restaurant. Si Senor serves their chips with a decent salsa and a bean dip that everyone seemed to enjoy. The chips were so-so. We also got a dish of guacamole. The menu was pretty typical...lots of individual dishes (burritos, tacos, enchilladas, combination plates). I ordered a Vegetarian Expresso burrito. It was a very large burrito with beans, cheese, tomatoes, and guacamole on the side. It was okay. Not sure why we got this exactly, but after our meals, we were served with these crispy tortilla wedges with honey and a little bit of chocolate and whipped cream. A scoop of vanilla ice cream sat in the middle. Was this an Easter treat? I don't know why, but they were pretty decent and, for me, the best part of the meal. read more

I don't think they have had true Mexican food from or in Mexico. Not trying to be critical of others but just how I feel. I would really like to find a good Mexican place in Beaverton. My partner and I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened and have watched it gradually decline in quality, portions, and service over that time. We used to come in at least weekly. Given the number of good experiences we had in earlier times we gave it one more try with a 2 for 1 coupon that was in the paper. We both ordered the special of the day and then presented our coupon when we paid. We were told that it was no good on the special...thinking I had missed this on the coupon, I read it again and all it said was "not valid with other offers" When I pointed this out I was told that the special of the day should be considered an "offer". I am sad to say that experience made this our final visit to Si Senor despite being a VERY regular customer in the past. Not only was this misleading, but petty and bad customer service. Sad to see a restaurant that used to be tremendous drop to this level. read more

I've passed by this place a few times and always wanted to check it out, finally I did! The menu was little pricey, with only a few items under $10. This was the dinner menu of course. What I found a bit strange was there was a sign saying happy hour until 6pm, and I arrived at 4pm, only I couldn't find any mention of what the happy hour specials were. The wait staff didn't clue me in either. It wasn't a big deal, since I'm not much of a drinker, I just thought it was strange. A cool thing was that we got a fresh bean dip with the complimentary chips and salsa. Though customers have to pay for a refill of the chips/salsa/bean dip. I'd rather have unlimited chips/salsa, per the usual, than the added bean dip. However, the dip was still good (though a little bland). Companion didn't much care for the salsa because it was too thin; however, I favor that type of salsa so it was all good with me. I shared a plate of beef (it was shredded beef) sopitos with my companion. The ingredients all tasted fresh and the flavors blended well together. I even enjoyed the guacamole (not a fan most times) which was light and flavorful. Though the more I ate the corn meal sopitos, the less I enjoyed it, I felt that was more a personal preference than anything wrong with the food. I received 2 corn sopitos on the plate, along with rice and beans, so it was easy to share with someone. The plate only cost ~$8. The wait staff kept our drinks refilled and checked on us. I like that sour cream comes with most every dish, because it always irritates me that I have to buy it on the side (perhaps that's why things are a little more expensive here?). It did take us awhile to get our check, which was a little annoying. On the way out my companion noticed they had this free salad/salsa bar tucked into a corner. It's had the basic makings for salad with a couple dressings, and then several different salsas to choose from. I would have liked to try it, had I known about it before eating (again, the wait staff didn't tell us?). The service was a little sketchy IMO. And they set up a group of like 12 people right there in the front room, while I was there. I found that to be poor hostess planning. I mean, a party that big is going to stick around for awhile and they were ordering drinks. With them being in the center of the front room, it is going to make the restaurant loud and all the other customers will have to navigate by the table (not to mention service staff) and the group is likely to feel more like they're in the way, etc., etc. It would have been a better idea to put them in the second room where they could enjoy themselves I think. So yeah, I want to be over the moon about this place. Though I'm not there yet. I'll go back again and hopefully something will push me to either love or dislike it. read more

Have come four times and every time I've actually been blown away by how great this place is. However, I'd like to point out I haven't done dinner here, where I could see things being much more hectic. This review is based on the fact we only come for lunch. First, the staff is incredible. We're greeted kindly, sat at a table, and all the staff is genuinely good at their job and friendly. We're not left with empty cups for long and always asked how we're doing. Some people might find that annoying but I like it a lot, it means they're willing to help out every time they come to the table. The food is great! I LOVE Mexican food and basically stick with the particular places I find the tastiest to me. The bean dip with warm homemade chips is to die for, and the salsa is great too. I've tried five different dishes and liked each very much. I have to admit though, I am coming from two places that I miss dearly, with the PERFECT shredded beef. The shredded beef here is good but I'm not too into the sauce they use to marinade it. It's a bit too strong for my tastes. Also, prices are phenomenal. We come in threes mostly and it's rarely over fourty, even when we get drinks and sides. My new go-to for mexican, but I haven't tried all of them in this area so we'll see how they all compare. read more

Not Worth the Money Tortilla soup is one of favorites, however I will never order it again at Si Señor. I was dining at 12:15 alone today. When I waited 10+ minutes for it to be served I figured beforehand it wasn't going to be very good. When it arrived it was easy to see that it had not been made earlier and simmering in a big pot, but assembled per order. Basically it was broiled, sliced chicken breast floating in hot water with no seasonings or flavor, with sliced toasted tortillas in the broth, and chunks of avocado on top. No onions, no salt, no flavor. I had to add some salt and an entire mini bowl of salsa to it to get any flavor out of it. I can make it better at home. It was disappointing. read more

We waited by the "wait here to be seated" sign while numerous employees just walked by and looked at us and didn't even acknowledge us, they just turned away. Finally a girl came out and asked if we needed anything because they were closed and we were turned away even though it says 10pm everywhere you look for it. Including google, yelp, and map quest. And it's not like we were told in a friendly manner either. Not a good first impression. Probably won't give it another shot. read more

Man. I have to say that this is some of the best Mexican food that I've had the pleasure to put in my belly. Me and my wife couldn't stop talking about how amazing this food was, except when we were stuffing our faces with even more food. We got the fajitas for two, with steak. It came out sizzling, and continued that way for quite some time! It made the vegetables nice and caramelized and the smell was to die for. It didn't end there! Our server Jose Reyes was amazing! He got us everything we needed, was kind, gave us advice on their reward program, and didn't checked on us just enough (and not too much!) We also had a few drinks, and dang. So delicious. We have been coming here for years. And continue to go. I have never had bad service here and their original margaritas are to die for. Nothing beats fresh squeezed lime juice and tequila in a shaker. They have a full bar, and great drinks. I usually always get the carne aside salad, and always end up craving it later in the week. It's a healthy option that is always good. My husband gets the menudo, which he loves. All the servers there know that he likes cilantro with it and automatically bring it. They also have some very good traditional items. Like roasted goat. (don't remember the proper name). Yes their menu is big and they have alot of options, but it's all close to the same items, burritos enchiladas fajitas etc. Dont go in there expecting fine dinning food!! We LOVE Si Senor Mexican on Hall Street! The first thing you'll notice when you sit down at your table, not only do they serve chips and salsa, but they also serve a complimentary bean dip as well. One of the things that makes Si Senor on Hall different from many other mexican restaurants, is their "authentic" recipes from Mexico... not the boring Ameican version of "mexican" meals. The owner, Lazaro, said that many of his recipes were brought from back home. Si Senor on Hall has such a great menu, it takes us awhile to decide which items to order. Some of our dinner favorites include the Fajitas Combo (their shrimp is the best I've had!), the Borrego (melt-in-your-mouth Lamb Shanks), Babarcoa (savory beef in a delicious red sauce), Fish Tacos (you get 3 of them!), and the Si Senor Plate (Carne Azada, prawns and mushrooms!). And for you Margarita lovers, every Wednesday, Si Senor on Hall also 2 for 1 house Margarita Day! Gotta love it! Because I'm a seafood lover, I have to mention that Si Senor on Hall really has alot of shrimp (and fish) items on their menu. The shrimp is the best shrimp in town. Not overcooked, just succulent and tender, and good sized! They must have nearly 10 different Shrimp Appetizers alone. Their Shrimp Cocktail is HUGE! And the Apretalados (Shrimp wrapped in bacon) and the Botana de Mariscos (sp?) with shrimp and scallops is great too! They have just as many Shrimp and Fish dinner entrees too. Solid meal - had the combo (steak/chicken) fajitas, was more than enough for 2! Had it for dinner last night, and was more than enough for dinner a 2nd night! My sister got something of no interest to me, my mom tried the Si Senor Special with the Carne Asada (which was perfectly thin and very tasty!) The chips were good, the salsa was ok, the bean dip was ok. Got the guacamole from the check-in offer, and it was ok, but nothing to write home about. Something was off about the texture, a little too creamy for me. Of note, it was a little confusing about who was serving us, we were seated by the hostess, another woman came to bring us chips, etc and a third guy served us. The woman brought us a second bean dip instead of the guacamole initially, but this was easily fixed. The steak and chicken were both moist and well-seasoned, and the veggies were very flavorful, although a bit greasy. I loved that they didn't skimp on the onions/peppers, as they're often my favorite part. It came with lettuce/cheese, pico, refried beans and rice on the side as well as your choice of flour or corn tortillas. it's pretty apparent the tortillas aren't made in house (or at least they didn't taste that way to me) but they were good. Also of note, kids under 10 eat free here on Sundays and Mondays. Because of this, there were lots of families with kids there. We went last night (Monday) for my nephew's third birthday, and his meal was free. They also brought him some fried ice cream and sang him happy birthday, which he was thrilled about.The staff were very good with the kids in the business. The food was good, but the prices (between 12 and 20 per person) were really not doing it for me. There are so many options for Mexican that are equally as good for a lesser price, that I will likely not come back unless requested by friends.
