We LOVE Si Senor Mexican on Hall Street! The first thing you'll notice when you sit down at your table, not only do they serve chips and salsa, but they also serve a complimentary bean dip as well. One of the things that makes Si Senor on Hall different from many other mexican restaurants, is their "authentic" recipes from Mexico... not the boring Ameican version of "mexican" meals. The owner, Lazaro, said that many of his recipes were brought from back home. Si Senor on Hall has such a great menu, it takes us awhile to decide which items to order. Some of our dinner favorites include the Fajitas Combo (their shrimp is the best I've had!), the Borrego (melt-in-your-mouth Lamb Shanks), Babarcoa (savory beef in a delicious red sauce), Fish Tacos (you get 3 of them!), and the Si Senor Plate (Carne Azada, prawns and mushrooms!). And for you Margarita lovers, every Wednesday, Si Senor on Hall also 2 for 1 house Margarita Day! Gotta love it! Because I'm a seafood lover, I have to mention that Si Senor on Hall really has alot of shrimp (and fish) items on their menu. The shrimp is the best shrimp in town. Not overcooked, just succulent and tender, and good sized! They must have nearly 10 different Shrimp Appetizers alone. Their Shrimp Cocktail is HUGE! And the Apretalados (Shrimp wrapped in bacon) and the Botana de Mariscos (sp?) with shrimp and scallops is great too! They have just as many Shrimp and Fish dinner entrees too. I love to support the local merchants of our area, and Si Senor on Hall is a one local merchant we love to support. If you haven't dined there, give them a try. read more

Solid meal - had the combo (steak/chicken) fajitas, was more than enough for 2! Had it for dinner last night, and was more than enough for dinner a 2nd night! My sister got something of no interest to me, my mom tried the Si Senor Special with the Carne Asada (which was perfectly thin and very tasty!) The chips were good, the salsa was ok, the bean dip was ok. Got the guacamole from the check-in offer, and it was ok, but nothing to write home about. Something was off about the texture, a little too creamy for me. Of note, it was a little confusing about who was serving us, we were seated by the hostess, another woman came to bring us chips, etc and a third guy served us. The woman brought us a second bean dip instead of the guacamole initially, but this was easily fixed. The steak and chicken were both moist and well-seasoned, and the veggies were very flavorful, although a bit greasy. I loved that they didn't skimp on the onions/peppers, as they're often my favorite part. It came with lettuce/cheese, pico, refried beans and rice on the side as well as your choice of flour or corn tortillas. it's pretty apparent the tortillas aren't made in house (or at least they didn't taste that way to me) but they were good. Also of note, kids under 10 eat free here on Sundays and Mondays. Because of this, there were lots of families with kids there. We went last night (Monday) for my nephew's third birthday, and his meal was free. They also brought him some fried ice cream and sang him happy birthday, which he was thrilled about.The staff were very good with the kids in the business. The food was good, but the prices (between 12 and 20 per person) were really not doing it for me. There are so many options for Mexican that are equally as good for a lesser price, that I will likely not come back unless requested by friends. First time ever here. Seems like your typical Mexican food restaurant. The four of us got our food quickly. No complaints from anyone and one of us had some dietary requirements with there meal and he said they did what he asked. My only complaint was that I asked for my margarita blended and it came to me on the rocks. Also still debating if there was actually any tequila in it. read more

This is probably the 5th time we have ate dinner here and we have never had a bad experience! Last night, it was pretty busy (Saturday night), but they found us a good seat for our family (2 adults, 1 & 3 year olds). They were super quick bringing the chips and salsa/bean dip and drinks, which is super helpful when you have very hungry little boys. The food was excellent! Our server was constantly checking in or getting things when we needed it. The check came fast when we were done, so we would could leave before the kids got restless. We'll be back! "Meh. I've experienced better." Perfect review caption. The food here was by no means disgusting, and the service was fine. Nothing, however, was stand-out. I ordered the Bandera Enchiladas, which by the looks of the menu, was a large platter of rice, beans, and three enchiladas. When the food came, the rice and beans looked gray, and the enchiladas were too small. I will give them a shout-out for their drinks. I usually get a tequila sunrise at Mexican restaurants, which always turns out to be a small tumbler full. Si Señor gave be the biggest glass for my drink I've ever seen! Gosh. Service was so fast. I arrived to the restaurant with a party of 5, ended up being a party of 20. We had great seating, didn't wait long. Their chips and salsa was amazing. The food was amazing as well. The food is actually very authentic. I was expecting white washed Mexican food . So glad I was surprised. Wow, this place is excellent and i totally stumbled on it by accident. (Was going to eat at the Thai place right behind it.) I had the Sea Bass A La Diablo. Very tasty. Si Señor is a local Portland chain with multiple locations, but this one is my favorite. Fairly big, a nice bar area, and depending on who is bartending, some great margaritas. My favorite at Si Señor is the pollo asado--really moist and flavorful chicken. They can make it into a burrito, full of vegetables and black beans, too. The perfect Cadillac margarita is awesome if they make it with fresh lime juice. Wide selection of typical Sonoran Mexican dishes as well. Reasonable prices, good service. read more

It's been a long time coming, but I have visited Si Senior a few times. Every time I have gotten an excellent meal with impeccable service. My last visit was with my son, who is Autistic, and had a wonderful time practicing his Spanish with the crew there. Our waiter was on top of everything and of course we all left with doggie bags. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for good Mexican food. read more

Eh decent Mexican restaurant in the Beaverton area. Food is fast & service is prompt. On sunny days you can sit in the patio and watch the traffic on Hall. Now mind you, I've only been here during lunch since it's close to my office. Therefore, I can't comment on Happy Hour or Dinner. Based on all the reviews, I actually prefer this place over some of the Mexican restaurants in the Portland area. As far as the price is concerned, there are a few dishes that are overpriced for the quality of the dish. So in regards to this place you either love it or you hate it. For me, it's more like eh it's good enough for the Pacific Northwest. Oh they do have a salsa bar with spicier salsas so it helps. PS - you can hear your arteries clogging when you order a cheese enchilada. read more

This place is super close to our house and has a nice patio out front so we went, fully knowing it's not going to be the most authentic or cheap place in town, sitting on Hall Blvd facing all these office buildings. (hey, I live off of 99W aka Mexicana Blvd.) The decor is kitsch and kinda cheesy (very reminiscent of On the Border or Chevy's style of restaurants) and they have the usual Mexican food variety. Tacos, Burritos, Enchiladas, Fajitas, Quesadillas, etc Prices are $12-20 so not exactly cheap but you do get bottomless chips and salsa. That said, my spicy fish dish (Filete el Diabla) was basically a tiny piece of fish filet smothered in hot salsa and a small amount of stirfried veggies. I dunno. They probably use tilapia or an equally cheap fish so I'm not sure why this would cost $16. I was full but only because I ate a lot of refried beans (including my husband's portion). The hot salsa should have used chopped jalepeno peppers but instead gets its spiciness from vast amounts of cheap chili powder, making the salsa rather bitter. We were glad to have sat out in the patio because the inside of the restaurant was really hot and stuffy. Did their A/C not work that they or something? Who knows... And what's up with their drink menu? There are no prices listed for any of the drinks. Should I be asking the server for every single drink on the menu? (which he wasn't sure of when asked, BTW) Or am I supposed to just order my margaritas and then get blindsided when I get my check? Don't make me sound like some pennypinching cheapskate by having to ask about every drink. Talk about mood killer. (I ended up not ordering any drinks) I came out of the restaurant full and hubby was happy with this tummy full of chips and margaritas but let's just say it wasn't our best Mexican food experience, despite having spent $50. read more

We went here last weekend for my MIL birthday dinner. The staff was amazing and so was the food! I got the tortilla soup and of was the best I have ever had. Ate in bar on Thursday during happy hour. Bad odor and we had to relocate to another table. Good service but food was terrible.

We went here after the yarn crawl and first we stopped at a hole in the wall place and it was kinda scary so we left. On our way home we found this place I'm glad we did , it was awesome they give way to much food you can get several meals out of, I got the fajitas burrito very good, Dennis got expresso burrito he loved it, salsa was ok but they have beans to dip your chips in. First time we came here, awesome service. Expensive food, but good quality. This time, we only came here for drinks. We sat at the bar. At the time, only one other table was there. We never had anyone come ask us what we wanted to drink. No one working the bar either. My husband went looking for a server who also made our drinks right here and then. The drinks were very weak for ordering their grande sizes. My husband wanted a second drink and we waited 5 min before getting up to go get the server again. At this time, the bar area is much busier. We watched the server walk around to many of the tables around us before my husband again walked up to the server to order another. We are now done and need our tab. We wait 10 min and my husband yet again gets up to go to the host at the front to ask for our server. We watch him get the tab for a different table that sat down much later than us and finished their food. At this point we have given up and leave exact change on the table. I don't know that we will be back considering there is a lot of other completion that would love our business. read more

We literally go here about once a week! The staff is always friendly and their food is always delicious! They just remodeled and it looks great, only downside is that the new salsa bar is out in the lobby uncovered and it's awkward to get to once you're sat. New to the area, wanted Mexican, this place had good reviews. Nah. They were nice, the chips and salsa were good. Beyond that it was a very typical Americanized chain restaurant experience. All of the staff had ear pieces in and that seemed to make hearing and paying attention difficult. I specifically asked if the chimichanga was covered in green chili, I was told yes, and yet it was not. The beef chimi was made with bland ground beef and beans. The shrimp cocktail was bland and clear. It was served with a side of ketchup. The margaritas were OK, but nothing special. Nothing was bad, nothing was above par - and the bill was $50 for 2. There was a lot of silly Spanish - hola, gracias, amigo - really just for atmosphere, not sincere. Very hokie. I wouldn't come back, or recommend this restaurant. read more

The staff here was awesome. They were all accommmodating and attentive. The beans were delicious and they have a salsa bar with a variety of really good salsas. My sister had a vegetarian burrito that she thought was good. I special ordered a ground beef burrito that was not very good. I would go there again but try something different next time. read more

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants... anywhere! Amazing service, and a fun & relaxing atmosphere aside, the food is the freshest and most delicious Mexican food I have ever had. Lazaro, his family and staff greet you as if you have just walked into their home and treat you as if you are an honored guest. Lazaro himself often comes to your table to make sure you are happy and that you have exactly what you need. The signature bean dip is crackalicious and not to be missed and should be scooped up in massive amounts with the hot, fresh and delicious tortilla chips. The salsa is also delicious and fresh! Everyone talks about the (tasty) House margaritas, but you have not lived until you try one (or twenty) of the hand-crafted, Original margaritas that are served in a cocktail shaker with a small glass... they are just incredible. I think they are made with Hornitos, which is great, but if you want to really pamper yourself, ask for a top shelf tequila to get a smoothness that compliments the delicious combination of salt, tart and sweet. I live in Montavilla, just East of Mt Tabor; but, when I want Mexican food, I make the trip to Si Señor on Hall, the trip is MORE than worth it. read more

This place is close to the house so we thought we would give it a try to see how the outdoor dining was. We made a reservation for 645 and ended up waiting until 710 to be seated. It was understandable though given how busy they were. The lobby area was incredibly packed with the togo orders and people waiting for a place to sit, in spite of this they still did a great job of maintaining social distance. We ordered surf and turf fajitas and a chimichanga. I loved the flavor of the chimichanga although I could have done without the beans. I'm just not much of a bean fan. The chimichanga was huge though. About 3.5 inches in diameter and 10 inches long. I'm a big eater and was only able to finish half. The portion on the fajitas was very generous as well. Of the chicken shrimp and steak our favorite protein was the steak. One of my only disappointments was the draft beer selection. I was hoping they would have Pacifico or corona and they had neither. They best thing was the outdoor dining space. Tables were conveniently placed to make sure everyone was social distanced, they had really nice ripe lights under the tent creating plenty of light to eat but great ambiance and the fire place provided heat but an intimate setting. If you are looking for comfortable dining outdoor this is the place. You won't be cold the food is good and the staff is great! read more

If I had to guess, Lazarro is personally responsible for at least ten of my pounds. My family loves this place. We stop in every Sunday after church(almost) and have for years. My kids know all the servers by name and they treat them like they're the most important people in the world at that moment. The food: the bean dip is fantastic. I am addicted to it. The salsa is exactly what I like in a salsa. I've come close to replicating it at home a few times but have never quite been able to come up with that special something that makes it work like theirs. My number one key to quality Mexican food is the rice and beans. Theirs are the best you'll find outside of a few key restaurants in Portland. My personal favorite is the carnitas. Melt in your mouth with a hint of crispness and wonderfully full flavor. My wife swears by the carne asada. The margaritas are the size of a punch bowl. Seriously. Again my wife swears by them. Lazarro and his wife as well as Jose, Cone and Jorge have gone out of their way over the years to treat my family like their family. We will continue to frequent Si Senior for as long as they're still open. Cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

I just moved here from southern CA and I've been really missing authentic Mexican food. We've tried a few other places and they've all fallen short, but this place really hit the nail on the head for me. The atmosphere is excellent, the servers are friendly and the food is authentic. I got the fajita nachos and they were really good and they give you salsa, bean dip and chips to start. Our server was pretty slow and then all of a sudden disappeared so the bartender took over our table for him and he ended up comping our kids meal for the inconvenience. which we appreciated. I was torn between writing this review or not. The staff was pretty nice for the most part, which made me double think putting up this review. However, the amount of mistakes that were made outweighed everything else. We walked in and were seated right away. We were given some chips, salsa, and bean dip. We began to browse the menus and noticed the happy hour menu. I ordered a michelada and my friend ordered a Margarita. We noticed some of our other friends had just come in and sat at another table. While this fact seems irrelevant, it is important. While we discussed what looked good and how everything sounds delicious, our drinks had arrived. I glanced over at my friends at the other table and gave a big grin with my giant michelada. I noticed that my friend's order was taken first, but wasn't too concerned. He swing by and asked if we wanted more chips. We said yes and I figured he would be back soon to take our order. By the time the waiter came back, it had been sans chips and 30 min later. I out in an order for a shrimp fajita burrito. He repeated chicken, and I said no, shrimp. He nodded ok. He continued on with the rest of my table. We talked to pass the time, and noticed that our friends had already received their food. They made a passing comment about it but I knew they had ordered first. We kept talking and when we looked at the time, we realized we had been in the restaurant for an hour. We started seeing some food come out and we kept seeing it pass us by. A waitress came up, apologized and said their computer system crashed and could not put in the orders. We halfheartedly nodded and understood. We saw some more food come out a few min later, and unfortunately, that food was not for our table. I asked for more chips and bean dip since we never saw the chips when we asked the first time. We saw 3 or 4 orders pass us by, I was about to call the manager over to just cancel our order. We finally received our food an hour and a half after we had arrived at the restaurant. I looked at my burrito, and before I took a bite, I dug around, and realized he gave me chicken. I was so hungry I debated if I should eat it or not, even though most meats don't agree with me. I decided to let the waiter know he had made a mistake and he was very apologetic and said he would get another one out right away. I figured ok, not a huge deal... My friend's order was wrong, he had ordered shredded tacos and a chimichanga, and he received enchiladas and a chimichanga. He let the waiter know, and again he said he would take care of it. I wait. I ate my guacamole, which was pretty delicious. I ate the lettuce shreds. I ate the tomato cubes. I wait. My friends at the other table leave. We never got our 1st or 2nd request for chips... My friend's tacos come out. My food still has not made its way out. It's been about 20 minutes. I'm getting angry, but I hold my tongue. He comes by, and offers both my male friends tequila. Or drinks or anything. Skips over me. The person who has not been able to eat. My friends start making comments about how he offered drinks to the men and skips over me. I'm about the tell the waiter to forget the order and to take it off the bill, but I see it come out. I ask him to bring me a box so I can take it to go since everyone was done eating. He asks the guys again if they want drinks on the house. He gives me the box. We ask for the check. He asks of I want dessert. I politely decline and ask him to split the check 3 ways He comes back with the bills, there wasn't even an adjustment to the bill for the wait. I don't care at this point, I put down my card and hand it to him. He walks away before taking all the cards, and my friend notices he over charged him for the margarita. He comes back and tells me he took off my drink. My friend informs him of the overcharge. He comes back saying he changed it from the charged $6 to $4,that he had taken 25cents extra off as a courtesy. He keeps pointing at the $4.25 like 25 cents was a big deal. I still left a tip, but I won't go back. All I can say is that the guacamole was good. And don't expect for them to make things right right away if you're female. I will never come back here again the server messed up my food order and the drink too bringing me something that was nothing like what I ordered i sent the food back because they left in something they said they'd leave out and then told me they left it in cause it's easier for them and then refused to remove it from the bill saying they didn't have a manager there and there's nothing they can do despite the meal being sent back and barely touched I actually reinstalled this app just to leave this review I will never come here again read more

The only reason why I'm giving it a star is because the customer service experience was Terrible! Our waiter took 15 mins just to start our order on our drinks. Water was never brought out to us. We saw the manager asking each table how they were doing and skipped US! We saw him talk to each table on our row but us. We saw a big difference on how every worker was acting extra polite to only the white people. Also the only reason why our waiter saw us was because a new party of 2 sat at the table next to us. Tried to place an online order on mothers day on their site and site took our money but the restaurant claimed they never got the order so I had to place the order again this time after making an account, called to try and confirm they got the order and they were not answering the phone, arrived to pick up the order and they text message to wait in the car and they will bring it right out, no one ever comes out so I finally walk inside and see at least 5 to go orders along with mine just sitting there getting cold. so I take my order go home and entire family was very disappointed in the food, it was dry ,cold and stale, meat was overdone and hard to chew, chips were stale as if they sat all day. appetizers were not even edible too hard and stale , we paid a lot for this large family platter and were disappointed will not be going back. read more
