I just moved here from southern CA and I've been really missing authentic Mexican food. We've tried a few other places and they've all fallen short, but this place really hit the nail on the head for me. The atmosphere is excellent, the servers are friendly and the food is authentic. I got the fajita nachos and they were really good and they give you salsa, bean dip and chips to start. Our server was pretty slow and then all of a sudden disappeared so the bartender took over our table for him and he ended up comping our kids meal for the inconvenience. which we appreciated. We arrived on Cinco de Mayo, knowing there may be a wait for lunch. We were seated after only 5 minutes thinking it was going to be fine. 20 minutes till a waiter showed up, 25 minutes for a drink. And now over an hour and 15 minutes later our food arrives, burnt looking. Other customers were delayed, but this is terrible. Charged full price, no apology. We took our food to go, and realized once home they had given us the wrong thing (the top looked right but inside was a different burrito) Avoid this place. read more

We were in a hurry as we had a meeting to go to. We told the waiter as we ordered taco salad. The food came fast and it was very good. The waiter was very nice and attentive. Visited Portland with my boyfriend for my 21st birthday! My favorite is Mexican food so we came here for my birthday dinner. We sat in the bar area and our waiter was very nice! We ordered a large margarita to share which was delicious and generously poured! Our food came out in a timely fashion and WOW! Super delicious! I ordered the fajitas with shrimp and steak. Absolutely would recommend the fajitas. The plates were huge and we did end up taking some home. The staff brought out a little dessert and a tequila shot for my birthday and they sang! So nice. The only reason why I'm giving it a star is because the customer service experience was Terrible! Our waiter took 15 mins just to start our order on our drinks. Water was never brought out to us. We saw the manager asking each table how they were doing and skipped US! We saw him talk to each table on our row but us. We saw a big difference on how every worker was acting extra polite to only the white people. Also the only reason why our waiter saw us was because a new party of 2 sat at the table next to us. Tried to place an online order on mothers day on their site and site took our money but the restaurant claimed they never got the order so I had to place the order again this time after making an account, called to try and confirm they got the order and they were not answering the phone, arrived to pick up the order and they text message to wait in the car and they will bring it right out, no one ever comes out so I finally walk inside and see at least 5 to go orders along with mine just sitting there getting cold. so I take my order go home and entire family was very disappointed in the food, it was dry ,cold and stale, meat was overdone and hard to chew, chips were stale as if they sat all day. appetizers were not even edible too hard and stale , we paid a lot for this large family platter and were disappointed will not be going back. read more

To start out we went on Mother's Day. Which, looked like it was hopping! They treated us women with roses as we walked in, that was an amazing touch. The food was huge, and actually really good. We got the fajitas combo, banderas enchiladas, carne asada, shredded beef nachos, tortilla soup, and the street tacos. Way to much food for 4 people, we all took plates home. The service was wonderful, but it took us 45 mins to get our appetizer and a side of guacamole we ordered. We understand that it was busy, so I hope next time we go it will be a bit quicker. My husband and I went to dinner there on a Sunday night as to be expected it was pretty busy. We were told wait time was 15-20 and I think we waited maybe 25 minutes. We sat in a booth, which was pretty uncomfortable. The waitress or hostess set our waters, chips, and salsa down and walked away without saying anything. It was around 100 degrees that day and our waters didn't have enough ice and about 10 minutes went by till our waiter came to ask if we wanted something else to drink. The salsa was a little spicy so eating it with warm water wasn't very good. I got the blue margarita (I forgot it's name) and my husband got a soda. It took quite awhile for our drinks to come out. Then the waiter took our order for food. My husband got a giant burrito and I got enchiladas. The food came out quickly and it all tasted okay, nothing special. It's not the food I was disappointed in, it was the service. We barley got checked on and they were always rushed to take our order but not bring us refills. It was 102 degrees that day and we barley got one refill on our waters. read more

I've ordered from the Portland Si Señor and they do not even compare to this Si Señor. At all. This one never fails to disappoint. I always order from postmates, my husband and I always enjoy their chips and salsa and meal. Even leftovers. That's something I can't say for their close competitor in my neighborhood, Pepitas. Pepitas for one, does not give more than a very small sauce container of salsa. One small container for the whole two person meal. Si Siñor gives enough, plus is still tasty and good as a leftover. A couple of friends and I went here tonight. We have been in search of a good Mexican restaurant that not only has good food, but also good service. The food was good. I enjoyed my cheese and onion enchilada. My friend got the same enchilada and added spinach. She liked it. My other friend had a tamale and it was a good size. The service was okay. Nothing spectacular. We ended up getting seated right in front of the bar so it was hard to talk. The bartender who was making all of the drinks for the restaurant also took our food order so it took a while for us to order our food. Overall, it was good experience. read more

The parking lot was full, and getting a spot took a little bit of time, but that was definitely worth the wait. My wife and I came for our anniversary on a strong recommendation from my friend. Nice interior, friendly staff. The chips and salsa were nice, and the service was quick. I have to say that the food was way over-salted; I had the Chile Verde combination plate. The pork was done well, in terms of tenderness. But several bites in, I just couldn't take the saltiness. The rice was no better. It was fairly noisy, with lots of kids when we got their on sat. afternoon. Got seated promptly and our order was soon taken. Reasonable wait time for our food to be cooked. I had chicken en mole, which I did not care for, I think it was properly prepared, I just did not like it. Water glass was kept filled during the meal, which I really appreciate. The serving of Cole slaw in the meal was very skimpy, perhaps about 2 tablespoons. Is there a cabbage shortage somewhere? I do not think I will be back, just another average restaurant. The store bought tostada's for cerviches were just bad. The Mexican pizza was just ok, it atleast had some flavor. Now for the drinks. My Mojito was bland flavor wise, like they just mixed in some Mojito flavor & the margarita was weak! So we will not return, Raul's is a better choice for taste . I went to Si Senõr for my birthday last night and I have never been more impressed with a restaurants attention to detail! The food was delicious, the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and the service was quick and efficient. To top off an already enjoyable night, at the end of our meal the waiters & waitresses came to our table with dessert and sombreros and sang me happy birthday! I have been here twice now and had exactly the same experience. First off, the food is REALLY good. I just moved to Oregon and it's hard to find good Mexican food, so I was excited to come across this place. They even have various salsas at the front to choose from! The disappointment came with the lack of service - order was incorrect but waiter never came back so I just ate it, no one around for refills on cokes, and food took a really long time to come out although the place was empty. When my plate came the melted cheese on the enchilada was scorched and was extremely hot which means it sat too long under the heat. I did notice that many of the staff were hanging around chatting. It led me to believe that the focus was on something other than the customers. I will give this place one more chance because the food is so good but that's it. So please, get it together people! We came here on a whim when we happened to be in the area. This place is doing everything right. Place was PACKED but they seated us promptly. Service was so friendly and attentive. They start you immediately with free hot chips, salsa, and warm beans (YUM!). We ordered 2 different burritos- both were HUGE and the meat was top quality (not soggy or bland!). Our kids ate the macaroni kids meals which we were hesitant on ordering but it was some of the BEST macaroni!! And it came with fresh hot fries. This place was amazing. I'd come back in a heart beat. I've been to countless Mexican restaurant's and customer service is always the number one job for waiters and bartenders, but Si Senor Mexican food is the exception. The service to this place is below average, the food is mediocre at best and it's over price. If you want a better Mexican restaurant I recommend Mazatlán.
