Due to the heatwave happening around here, my neighbor and I decided there was no way we were going to make dinner. She suggested Si Senor, for the vast menu as well as the great air conditioning. It was a win win. We were escorted to the bar even though neither of us were in the mood for a beverage. The World Cup was on and the place was pretty packed for 4:30 on a Monday. We learned that there is a happy hour menu from 3-6 with fantastic prices where an alcoholic beverage purchase was not required. Both of us chose the 3 tacos for $12 and unlimited chips and salsa. Totally recommend that menu because so often, the Mexican combo dishes are huge and enough for 2. I always overeat on chips and salsa and am stuffed by the time my meal comes around. This location has plenty of seating and quite a huge parking lot, better to navigate than the Hall location, for sure. My third time dining at this restaurant. I live a mile away. Each time has been rather disappointing, each time they have gotten my order incorrect and/or the food has been subpar. I think this last time, last night, was the last effort. I ordered Quesabirria tacos and they came out soft, like an enchilada, not crispy, not anything like they were supposed to be. My question to the bartender was how does a cook in a Mexican restaurant do this order wrong? They send this out full well knowing what they're supposed to be, how does the server drop it off? How does it pass all these areas without the error getting caught? The only answer is inattentive and poor management! The staff is apparently allowed to do whatever they want to the gringo customers. The bartender made a half hearted effort saying they could remake them. But we all know what happens when you send an order back. I worked in a kitchen so I know. IYKYK. I reluctantly ate them. Not sure how I was supposed to dip it in the consume, but I guess it all worked out. Who has to eat birria tacos with a fork? No manager apology no remorse. They really didn't even effing care. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Ambience is pretty good. Margaritas were good although weak, but attention to detail zero. Bartender banter between themselves was all in Spanish, probably badmouthing the patrons. Only English spoken was to the customers. I cannot recommend this restaurant for anything, and I've tried it three times. I recommend y'all find someplace else with better food, service and that's cheaper. It is a bit more expensive than other restaurants but you're paying for better flavor. We tried the Tacos al Pastor, chicken Fajita, and Chorizo con Queso Fundido. We spotted this restaurant from the highway and decided to stop in for lunch. They have a huge menu and a full bar so there's options galore! The restaurant itself is large, great for groups, and seems to be clean and kept nicely. Our server was very friendly and provided great service. Everything we tried was served hot and prepared nicely with delicious flavors. The tortilla soup wasn't our favorite but it was still decent soup. Si Señor is one of the best Mexican food, sit down restaurants in the area. The service is always great and the food comes out quickly, even when it's busy. It's extremely clean and the tables feel nice and secluded. We ordered the Fajitas for 2 with Chicken and Steak as the meats. It comes with rice and beans plates for both people with sour cream, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole, and cheese. And choice of corn and/or flour tortillas. We also ordered a house margarita, which was huge. And of course we got the chips, salsa, and bean dip as a free appetizer. My friend and I shared the Alhambra dinner for two which had a variety of dishes on a large plate. Everything was great and we could not finish it. The catch was that we went in on a Monday night and service was S L O W. Drinks, appetizer and meal came out quite slow. They were not good at all, which I guess makes sense since this is a Mexican restaurant, but they were honestly pretty bad. On the positive side, they serve free chips with bean dip and salsa, which were both excellent. One thing that really bothered me was the added 3 percent service fee on the bill. I think that is unnecessary and tacky. It feels like restaurants are already charging high prices, so adding extra fees just leaves a bad impression. I love this restaurant. It's better than average Mexican food for sure. Tortillas made in house, salsas as well. Nice variety of regional menu items. I especially liked the Pollo Mole Verde, Burrito Esperesso with shredded beef, steak fajitas, Enchiladas Banderitas, and Chile Relleno. Their dishes are also usually tasty enough that you really don't need hot sauce. Very enjoyable atmosphere without Bud Light neons, Oregon Video Lottery machines, or dusty decorative sombreros. There's a good selection of Mariachi music playing in the background while you eat, and the service is attentive and friendly. The place is also really clean, comfortable, cozy, and inviting. The complimentary chips are great (got, fresh, crispy) and salsa is ok but too mild IMO. The salsas with the taco bar were unpleasant. Major points for fresh tortillas that you can buy to take home as well. I'd go back for happy hour to try more items. I have been a fan for over 20 years starting at thier Sylan location ( stopped their on the way back from the airport) it was almost 10pm closing time but Joel told us it's ok amigo I have things to do. I became a regular at the Hall Street location (Joel was bartender after Sylvan) eating there 2 to 3 times per week and an occasional stop in-between for thier refreshing Michalada. Now I'm a regular at the new L.O. location, although I live closer to Hall. I always sit at the bar so naturally I follow my bar tender. Hector is the best! Excellent bartender! Always spot on with any drink I order. I dont understand the average 3.5 star reviews. Don't let that stop you from visiting for the first time! Try thier Carnitas or Tour de Mexico plate. I garuntee you will not beable to wait until your next visit. I was eagerly anticipating this Mexican restaurant opening in Lake Oswego. It's been at least 4 years since the former Chevy's shuttered. Si Senior is a local group with the original (OG) being based in Beaverton on Hall Road. This restaurant has been completely remodeled with a beautiful atrium, wall fountains, and an uprooted tree adorned by floating lanterns above. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff. They serve complimentary chips with salsa and bean dip at the beginning of your meal. We really appreciated that, and we were thrilled to still see that - with all the extra added charm. My mother ordered the tortilla Aztec soup which was hearty with lots of chicken and avocado. My father ordered a combo platter with an enchilada and a taco. I lean more vegetarian, so I ordered the cactus and vegan meat tacos with rice and beans. We all agreed that our food was delicious. However, at the end of our meal I realized I was charged $5 more for my rice and beans which I thought was included as part of my meal. In microscopic print it actually says on the menu that that was an extra charge. The tacos were already $19. These were small / normal sized tacos, so with the extra charge made my meal come up to $24. I may come back for the soup or a combo meal, but I was disappointed with the extra charge with my entree. I feel like the rice and beans should be included with the entree since this is a restaurant and not delivery or a food truck. My waitress never explained the up charge and it was definitely not noticeable at first glance. That was truly disappointing. When I explained my disappointment my waitress apologized and showed a little empathy, but there definitely needs to be some additional changes with the menus. The print is extremely small and difficult to read. All in all, I will give them another try, but wasn't wowed over. I also signed up for text messages about 3 weeks ago on Facebook. They said they had a contest and would also offer dining specials. I haven't received any specials or notification that winners were selected. I only have received a few texts stating they were open. I'm still a bit undecided on this place, that's the reason for the 3 stars. read more
