This is the most bland Thai food ever whoever calls this authentic hasn't had the pleasure of eating real Thai food. We had the pad Thai (dry and bland), the fried rice also bland but greasy and the basil beef some mild flavors. The fresh spring role filled with just a bunch of cabbage. What a disappointment considering the review!

One of my favorite spots. This is super solid no frills authentic Thai. Prices are incredibly right, portions huge, and the owner gentleman is very nice. I usually order takeout and never a complaint. There were nine (!) shrimp in my L Tom Yum soup and the tray of spicy (drunken style) noodles weighed like a brick. Just can't beat the value!

Can't beat Siam Cafe service! With a family run business usually comes smiling faces when new customers walk in. We were welcomed and sat immediately when arriving to Siam Cafe. The dumplings- amazing!! great flavor, not too filling to make sure you have room for your main meal. We got green curry, red curry, and pad thai. The pad Thai was perfectly cooked and fresh. The curries were extremely satisfying. Very pleased with our time at Siam cafe, will definitely be back!

I have been to Siam enough to say that they offer some of the finest Thai food in Nashville. The establishment has been around since 1976 in a small divey restaurant off Nolensville Road and McCall Street. Though you might hate the parking situation upon arrival that might dampen the beginning; fear not! Your experience will get better once you've had the cuisine and the service. Do bear in mind that parking is available in front of the restaurant, but it is extremely limited. There is street parking on McCall. Be careful to not obstruct driveways or park in other business lots unaffiliated with the restaurant. If you happen to receive Air (that's her name) as your server, be prepared for a good laugh and an experience. She is full of personality and usually in good jest. Generally, service is decent and you will find yourself well attended. I really like the food. They can turn up the heat on the spice if you want it. I cannot handle the heat and find the food still flavorful even with no spice. They are pretty catering to the consumer when it comes to their desired taste and heat offering a good variety even for the finicky eater. My go-to's for meals are usually the Pad Thai, the coconut milk, chicken and mushroom soup, Thai tea, spring rolls, and Lad Na. I hope you guys check it out sometime. Yes, Nashville has a growing food scene, but do not forget the OG's that still have a leg in the race for good food and authentic feels.

Best Thai food in Nashville!!…read more I love Degthai and have eaten here numerous times, both in person and for takeout. The portions are gigantic and the food is delicious. Service is always friendly and quick. I used to think the mild Pad Kra Pao was pretty spicy, but I think they have decreased the spice levels because now it is extremely manageable. They have chili oil and other spices at the table in case you need to add more spice. Recently, I've been loving the red curry. It is packed full of meat, vegetables, and flavor. It easily feeds me for 2 or even 3 meals They have an outdoor patio in the summer. Not a great view of the road, but it's a nice patio. The inside is cute and Thai-themed.

Parking can be a little cramped so keep that in mind if you're visiting during a busy time. For the service itself, it's the kind of place where you simply order at the cashier and take a number to your table. They've always been quick to drop off our food. I ordered the Street Dumplings during my last visit and they were fantastic. It's hard to find good soup dumplings in these parts so I'll probably be ordering these as an appetizer every time now. The Chicken Red Curry was also delicious, if a little mild. I just wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often!

For my first visit to Degthai, I ordered the vegan Tiew Gang noodles and it was phenomenal. The…read morebase of vegetable broth mixed with coconut milk was creamy yet not heavy (with a blend of yellow and red curry spices, according to the menu -- sadly I am not that well versed in curries!). The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the tofu was browned to perfection. The grilled broccoli and cauliflower were snappy and contrasted well with the rest of the ingredients. The dish had a spicy yet tolerable kick to it, but I have a very high threshold for spice and heat (I added chili oil to take it up a notch!). Also, the portion size is BIG. I was very hungry so I had no issues finishing most of it, but it could easily be shared between two adults, especially if you order an appetizer or side. I loved the interior decor, which was simple yet eye catching. The mural encompassing the entire space in particular looked really cool. The place was packed, but the friendly staff were hustling to keep the line moving.

The hardest part about eating at Degthai is beelining to the Tiew Gang Vegan. (BTW, I am not Vegan, yet I LOVE the Tiew Gang Vegan.) They do everything well - the other curries, the standard noodle dishes, the dumplings - and it can be tempting to just go with your regular go-to dish like Pad Thai w/Chicken (BORRRINGG, but they do it well nonetheless.) You've gotta try the Tiew Gang Vegan. It's truly a once-in-a-year of eating out experience finding a dish this incredible. It competes pound-for-pound in the same heavy hitter weight class as the best Pho, Ramen, Jjamppong, or Beef Noodle Soup you've ever had. I've now been to Degthai 10 times, and have gotten the Tiew Gang Vegan the last 5 times in a row.

The flavors in both of the dishes were great! Both having the options of spice levels from 1-5. We had dinner around 6pm and didn't have to wait too long on a Saturday evening. The Thai Ice Tea was on the sweeter side, but still held the "thai ice tea flavoring" we were hoping for. (I'd say if it was a little less sweet, the flavor would stand out more.) We had no reservations but note that the seating is very limited. Additionally, you'd have to validate your parking by scanning a QR code they have (first 3 hours free). Our server was also very friendly! She made sure to check in on us on top of handling the rest of the tables herself as we dined. For the price it was worth it. The decision came down to Hai Woon Dai, which is close, and King Market. As I wanted a few things from the market, King won the day. The red curry was one of the best I ahve had and I even asked what coconut milk they used so I could get a can to make some Thai food at home. I will get back and try some Laotian dishes next time. The atmosphere is like a restaurant in a store. Oh, wait, it is a restaurant in a store. But I wasn't here for the ambiance. I was here for the food. The benefit of being in a market is you can grab Asian items for home, including some fruits and vegetables you won't find at your local Kroger. I included the menu, so you can see how reasonable the prices are. I will also state the portions are good for the price. As for the market, there is a nice selection of items from Asia or used in Asian dishes. I also found some interesting snack items, including versions of lays potato chips I have never seen in a US based grocery. I usually hit K&S, so need to compare prices, as both of these are about equi-distant to where I lived right now (although 24 is more of a pain than 40 west). Kudos to a great experience.
