Tried this new (for me) Thai Restaurant in Waipahu located in the strip mall across the Waipahu McDonalds. I ordered online and went a little early to pick up. It was a good thing I did because they did not receive my order until I got there. But, they promptly made my order in about 20 minutes. I was going to deduct a star, but it was something they could not have known, though they should frequently check whether or not their online service is properly working. Anyway, the food was excellent, and the ambience inside made me feel like I was back in Thailand from a previous trip! I also liked the fact that they had some menu items that typical Thai places do not, such as beef noodle soup and chicken and rice, both of which I ordered. If you're in the Waipahu area, I highly recommend it, but maybe CALL instead of going online! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I normally don't leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing. I stopped by after a neighboring business directed me here to use the restroom. I had also purchased something from the restaurant and politely asked if I could use the restroom. I was told no. I even offered to buy a drink if that was their policy, but they still declined. I completely understand that businesses have the right to set their own policies, but I think a little compassion goes a long way. You never know what someone is going through. I could've been a pregnant woman, someone with a medical condition, or simply someone in an urgent situation. Customer service isn't just about the food, it's also about how people are treated. This is a review for Siam City Thai Kitchen in Waipahu a few doors from where the old Highway Inn was located. Parking was plentiful during the lunch hour on a weekday. This was a pleasant surprise. The food was delicious. The Pad Thai was the best I've had in a long time. The Tom Yum soup was not as good as other places but still ok. I just won't order it again. The summer roll was good. We were in the Waipahu area looking for a place for lunch. Checked out the recommendations from our fellow Yelper's. They were right Siam City Thai Kitchen is awesome. Walking into their dining is like being transported to Thailand . Our server was very friendly and patient. She gave us some great recommendations. We tried their Famous Double Fried Chicken, the Crispy Pork, and the Stewed Pork with Rice. Everything was delicious . The sauces that accompanied each dish were awesome and enhanced the flavors of each dish. We definitely have to visit them again to sample more of their menu. Highly recommended read more

I'm always on the hunt for new food spots. Even though there are plenty of Thai restaurants in my area, we decided to venture out to Waipahu after noticing that Siam City Thai Kitchen offers several dishes I haven't seen at the Thai places I usually visit. They had an array of dishes that peaked our interests, but we ultimately decided on the crispy rice salad (kao yum nam), grilled steak salad (nam tok), crunchy ong choy (yum pak boong thod krob), and lastly a classic yellow curry with chicken. Everything was so flavorful! My favorite has to be the kao yum nam! It was truly a flavor bomb or salty, sour, spicy and fresh from the herbs. The crispy ong choy portion was HUGE! If you're not with a large group or aren't ready to tackle a lot of fried food, it might be best to save this one for when you have more people to share. That said, it was absolutely delicious. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly, and the yellow curry was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The service was great. Our waitress checked in on us and made sure our water was filled. Craving some Thai food and called in a pick up order at Siam City Thai Kitchen. Hubby said the decor was authentically Thai. This was encouraging since we rarely take out Thai food because his Thai mama often cooks for us when she's in town. We ordered the fried chicken per other Yelp reviewers, as well as the panang curry and pad Thai, both with chicken. Reviewers mentioned the spice level is not to be taken lightly here, so we ordered a 0 level to make sure our son could eat it too. Fried chicken was crisp and tasty, not greasy. Panang curry was full of flavor despite not having the usual spiciness. And the pad Thai was my picky toddler's favorite. Dinner with friends on a Saturday night... thought we'd introduce them to something different - Thai cuisine, unfamiliar entrees. They take reservations and it's BYOB. Lots of parking and place wasn't packed. Nicely decorated and welcoming staff. Ordered Crispy Rice Salad, Grilled Steak Salad, Crunchy Ong Choy Salad and Double Fried Chicken... fed 4 perfectly. We've ordered it for take out and delivery and it still remains crispy after a 25 minute drive (longer with delivery)! They give you a very generous portion for the price ($8.99-9.99). The Tom Kha Soup was bland. The "curry" side for the Crispy Ong Salad was sweet & cold. The Crispy Rice Salad was decently flavored, but had huge chunks of what tasted like cheap ham. My family loves Thai food and we enjoy trying the different styles from various regions of Thailand. This was not a different style, it was simply poorly cooked & just not edible. We couldn't finish any of the plates. Service was basic, the server wasn't rude, but was not welcoming either. It's located in an aging strip mall, a bit of a sketchy area. Ended up here by accident and so glad we did! We tried ordering from a couple other places but they were either closing for the night or wait times were too long. And we were at Walmart Kunia so this was close by which worked out great! The inside of the restaurant is so nicely decorated with pretty decor and even the entrance to the bathroom is fancy. And the restaurant is so clean. It's a small place with about 6-10 tables. The worker was so nice and friendly. We asked him if they are the ones that sell the food at the temple in Pearl City (Wat Thai) across of Sam's Club and he said yes. I went there years ago and their food was so good. Anyways, we ordered the pad Thai with beef, spicy mixed vegetables with shrimp, and the fried chicken. The pad Thai was good, but just a little oilier than usual. The mixed vegetables was really good. I loved the spice level on it and the flavor was very good. And the fried chicken was nice and crispy and juicy on the inside. The 3 plates were perfect for 3 people and we even had a little left over. I'm definitely so glad we ended up here. If you haven't already tried it, I suggest you make a visit real soon. The girl that helped me was friendly. I ordered the Double Fried Chicken, Sweet and Sour Stir Fry with Shrimp, Panang Curry with Chicken, Crunchy Ong Choy Salad and side of sticky rice. I hadn't been here in a while, but my friend and I decided to stop by since we were in the area. They open at 10 AM, which was perfect for an early lunch. The mother and daughter who run the place are still there, but this time, we were served by a different waitress. I asked her if they still had the papaya salad with raw crab, as the chef used to make it. Unfortunately, I got a very quick "no," so I guess it's no longer on the menu. That was a bit of a bummer. We ended up ordering the Lao-style papaya salad, nam tok beef, chicken feet skin salad, and sticky rice. The flavors were absolutely incredible and brought back memories of enjoying Thai food with my parents. I was so happy to find that the taste hasn't changed--it's just as delicious as I remembered. Listen, I reaaaaaally wanted to gatekeep this place because this is hands down our favorite restaurant. But you guys need to try it! Their papaya salad (Thai style) is bomb! Just make sure you ask how spicy their peppers are that day we're usually fine with a level 3 spice, but Chacha (our fave waitress) said the peppers they happened to get in was even spicier for her lol! The fried chicken is fricken ono! Super juicy and flavorful! The red curry with beef is one of our regular orders, along with the papaya salad. Their Tom Yum (seafood) is bomb too! Chacha gave us her recommendation to order it as "creamy Tom Yum" which has milk I think- but it makes its super yummy! I never would've thought to order it like that, but she shared that it's her favorite way of eating it too. All in all- a SOLID joint to go to! Well we went on a Sunday night and the restaurant had three tables left. We occupied one and ordered five dishes. The kitchen staff had two cooks and the front end had one person. She was overwhelmed! Because the rest of the other tables filled after we sat. It took about 30 minutes to get our first two dishes and another 20 minutes for the other three. We were in there a bit over an hour and a half. I appreciate good food and especially the service. I can't fault the waitress/hostess because she was handling all the tables and the phone orders as well. The place deserves at least four stars for cleanliness and quality but I will give her three because of the long wait to get our dishes to us. I wish them the best and remember these are the same people who make the Cbao-Siam pork rinds you see sold in grocery stores like Safeway. They're awesome pork rinds if you haven't try them yet. First time to this new section of eateries atv "the Ahops at Wedtloch Station" adjacent to the Waipahu Shopping Center. Seems like a good variety of restaurants. We weee craving Thai expecting a good variety of veggies so .opted for Thai. The menu is more limited than most Thai restaurants but we found it had a good enough variety. We ended up ordering a Sweet Sour shrimp which was very well prepared. Veggies were not overcooked and the sauce was light and tasty. We also had a green curry which was perfect. I am mostly pescatarian and made the mistake of ordering yellow curry with chicken. First glance at the meat, it looked strange. It was an unusual dark or pinkish color so I scooped it all out. Thankfully my niece's boyfriend devoured it. The Thai iced tea reminded me of the authentic flavors in Thailand. I am more fond of the sweet taste in the mainland, but it wasn't horrible.
