    Hot Basil Lunch Special
    Lacey W.

Can I just tell you guys how tasty this meal was in my opinion? II've tried this place before but I've only had the Thai basil fried rice, but today I decided to step out of my comfort zone and baby I'm glad I did. The spice was there as well as the flavor. Service was good I was greeted when I walked in and my order was ready for pick up when it sed it would be. The ambiance gives a nice Thailand vibe with the decor.

Beef Pho, scorpion bowl and Green Curry.

We went last night for the first time and it won't be the last. We sat at the bar and had great service with Jackie. Our food was fantastic! Best crab rangoon ever! The Beef Pho and Green Curry dishes were so good! We also shared a scorpian bowl. The prices are gretlat too. If you're looking for good Thai/Vietnamese food, then you have to try it. Cute place too.

I decided to try the Thai Spicy Beef over the Thai Spicy Chicken, which is one of my favorite dishes. I can eat it every day, seriously. The Thai Spicy Beef is delicious and I like it three peppers spic level but the heat doesn't affect the flavor of the dish, it enhances the dish. When you have a taste for some authentic Thai food stop at Thai Palace Jenny and her sister are sweethearts great customer service. To my Yelpers let's keep eating our way through the .

Food was pretty good. My drunken noodle was sweet and savory and had a lot of vegetables to balance my diet lol. Everyone was happy w their dishes. It was quiet on a Tuesday so it was great for our book club setting and there was a lot of takeout activity that I saw while there. The place is decorated w thai accents in a sleepy plaza in Bloomfield. Make sure you drive around the plaza front and back if you can't find the restaurant because the plaza has many sides.

Quantity over quantity = Thai Palace. As a college student......I approve. Short and simple. Oh and this is about lunch by the way. I've had Thai for lunch elsewhere and I paid X amount of money for litterally 1 layer of Drunken Noodles. That's one thing A LOT of Thai places do during lunch. They skimp you out on your main dish but give you spring rolls to make up for it. Here I paid the same X amount of money but I got a DINNER portion during the LUNCH wave. It came with spring rolls but wait there's more. SOUP. Quick run down of everything as I promised this would be quick: - Not the best Drunken Noodles ever, not bad just good and it's a lot. - Spring rolls were decent. - Had Chicken Coconut Soup and it was hot, spicy and flavorful. - Service was blah but can't beat the price. Well, maybe I didn't keep it short but hopefully simple. But one last time, for the amount of food you get, the price I paid is well worth it.

    Eggplant Basil Dinner

Great food, great place, great presentation. Went there for a family dinner (a couple weeks ago) and loved our time there. The place is cozy , and the food was delicious. I would recommend the drunken noodles and the eggplant dinner ! Our waitress was very nice and sweet, looking forward to coming back here!

Because I'm working extended hours seven days a week (Thank You Hurricane Sandy) I get home too late for us to go out to dinner, considering I have to be in early the next day. We decided that I would bring in take-out on my way home tonight, and since my return route brings me right through Bloomfield, I made a stop at Thai Palace. I rolled in about 7:30 and the place was jammin' crowded. Tables packed, lobby packed, take-out service crazy busy. I ordered 4 things for take-out - 2 appys and 2 entrees. The appys were Tom Kha Gai Soup ($3.75) and a Thai Salad ($3.25). The soup was out of this world fabulous- creamy coconut milk broth with excellent tender chicken strips and crisp veggies. The salad was a nice portion of lettuce, crisp pepper, cuke, and tomato with either a ginger or peanut dressing. The entrees were chicken pad thai ($10) and Goong Pad Pla Mouk ($15) - a very nice dish of shrimp, calamari rings, and veggies in a spicy black bean sauce. I ordered it with brown rice and it was excellent. As I read off my order to the hostess, she didn't look at me and didnt look at the take-out menu to see what I was attempting to order, She didn't seem real friendly and must not have liked the way I enunciated "Goong Pad Pla Mouk" because when she handed me my charge slip, it was about $15 less than what I was expecting- the reason of course was that she didnt include the Goong. So I had to order that again and ran a second charge slip for that dish. Kind of annoying, right? Well, she made up for it by offering me a takeout dish that someone decided not to pick up - an order of Thai Rice Noodle ($10) as a freebie. That was really nice of her - she changed a bad experience into a nice experience very quickly. So on a crowded Friday night, I ended up witnessing good customer service and ate take-out food that was excellent, And there are-plenty of leftovers for the weekend. And as for me, I'm back to work tomorrow.

Enjoyed a weekday lunch at This Palace with my Gluten Free daughter. I write a lot about GF to help promote awareness and share our findings along with the overall experience. Thai Palace is full versed in allergies, contents of their dishes and less known sauce ingredients. For weekday, the restaurant was bustling with diners. However, there was no lack of servers. We were seated in a comfortable booth and allowed time to review the menu. Lunch is served with a choice of soup or salad. We opted for the soup and an appetizer of vegetable spring rolls with a side of sweet and tangy pepper sauce. Our main dishes were fresh & piping hot. Mine a wide noodle, vegetables, chicken, and mango with a side of brown rice. Mel enjoyed, and I mean enjoyed, her favorite spicy squid over brown rice and vegetables. Gone Baby! Thai Palace has now been added to my Dinner Bucket list.

Sala seems like a high quality standard authentic Thai restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. There were certainly apps and noodle dishes you might find as street food, but no more or less than usual. In any event, I ordered the Sala Noodle Lunch Special, which comes with Tom Yum Soup (along with choice of protein) and fried wontons. My only less than enthusiastic comment concerns the fried wontons. They were room temperature, but they were flavorful. I ordered shrimp with the Tom Yum soup. How cool is it that shrimp is even an option? And it was perfectly tender. The soup had that classic sweet, sour and hot flavor. The Sala Noodles were very good. Wide noodles. Thin pieces of chicken. Carved grilled calamari. Snow peas. Sprouts. I could taste terrific char grill flavor, and that's a rare thing in this type of dish. The noodles and chicken had good flavor. I loved the basil flavor in the sauce. An outstanding lunch special. I'd definitely return to try more. Cheers to the one person who was hustling to serve all the tables. She did so with a smile. 4.5 Stars

I've been wanting to try The Elephant Trail for at least four years now…read more So today, after running some errands in Simsbury and Canton, I pulled in for lunch. I was greeted warmly, and my neighbor and I were seated in a lovely booth by the window. Iced water was poured into the glasses that were sitting on the table, and lunch menus were placed in front of us No munchies or sauce were served while I was perusing the menu I placed my order for an order of chicken wings for the appetizer, and for $16.95, I ordered chicken and garlic sauce with white rice, along with hot and spicy soup and two small egg rolls My neighbor ordered a shrimp and Thai sauce lunch. Within five minutes, the chicken wings arrived 8 in total, which included 4 flats and 4 drumettes These chicken wings were seasoned perfectly, and then deep-fried to a golden brown. A beautiful spicy Thai sauce was served on the side. I could've made a meal out of these. These were some of the best chicken wings I've ever had in my 65 years here on earth. The Tom Young soup arrived, and it wasn't what I was expecting, boy was this thing sour and as soon as I hate it, I went whoa, the waitress saw that I didn't like it and offered to exchange it for Mayo soup which I gladly did. The miso soup was delicious seasoning so nicely with basil. So far, I am experiencing perfection. The dinners arrived, and buy garlic, chicken and vegetables with white rice was OK. It wasn't great, but don't get me wrong. It wasn't bad at all. I would've liked to see more garlic sauce, and maybe a little bit more spicy. Instead, it was rather bland. My neighbor loved the Thai shrimp and vegetable vegetables Restrooms were clean, and I loved the ambience, Thai casual. The total with the tip was just over $54. I am really on the fence if this is the best Thai in Connecticut or close to it. So far no. But I would gladly come here again because this would be a top five in the Avon Valley area. I love the experience, and our server gave us extraordinary service. This was a great experience. I just wish the main course was a little bit more seasoned. I will come here in the future and try a different dish

So, adding Chicken, Beef, Pork, Tofu, Eggplant, Crispy Chicken, Shrimp, Scallop, Squid, or Mixed Seafood is a minimal surcharge. All lunch entrees come with a choice of Vegetable Tom Yum Soup or House Salad with Ginger Dressing. And if you're so inclined, you can convert your entrée into a Bento Box for $3 and add three shrimp Shumai and two Spring Rolls. I ordered a Bento Box of their Ginger Stir Fry with fresh ginger, baby corn, bell peppers, carrots, mushrooms, onions, brown rice, and chicken for $17. It was big enough for two portions. I loved it- the flavor was great, the chicken was delicious, the Tom Yum soup was loaded with vegetables, and the Bento Box goodies (especially the Shu Mai) were perfect.
