Ordered for pick up, which I have done several times. They went thru a period of time where it seemed like food was delayed 60-90 minutes, but lately it's been 20-30mins every time. Service is good every-time. Servers are easy to chat with and hardworking. They do seem to have frequent missing items from the yelp menu, so I wasn't sure if there had been a menu change or if it's a stocking issue. Anyways I had ordered ES1 green curry beef, mushrooms, rice. It was very good and that has been my experience with all of their curry dishes. Food wise this was the closest thing to a 5star rating for sure. I had no complaints other than the size being smaller than other Thai restaurants. NS1 beef rice noodle soup with veggie- this dish seemed a tad salty- it was a good size. Beef was perfect, but looked like they used the same cut of beef throughout so if you want something with variety on the beef I'd order another dish. We also order the chicken wontons- very similar to crab Rangoon except it was ground chicken. These were pretty fat, so ideally I'd have less chicken in there but you do get a good amount. Also wonton soup- this was way too salty and I love salt. Usually places under salt things. I probably won't order them again except to try and see if the salt problem was fixed. This is a solid Thai restaurant for Texas, the little flubs really keep them from 5 stars. Pricing is normal for a Thai restaurant and they aren't super expensive so I do appreciate that. I'd like them to keep this consistent wait for the food or at least keep it under 60 minutes, use less salt in some of the dishes, it seems like a common complaint just scanning others reviews, also maybe add a bit more to the dishes to make them slightly bigger, could even be just by adding more rice/noodles whatever the side was but I think that would improve people's experience tremendously. If you want "safe" dishes, that are solid- curries, noodles and stir fry always seem to be good here. Soups are also semi safe and can range from good to superb. read more

Ordered in on Friday night! Husband called and food was ready at designated time. We had an order of spring rolls to start. They were warm, crunchy, & delish! We had three entrees: chicken pad Thai, pad gaprao, and gad pad garrían. Included were two small servings of white rice. We would have liked a bit more white rice. The chicken pad Thai was plentiful and full of flavor. The pad gaprao was also very flavorful but small portion. The gad pad garrían was extremely salty! And I like salt. We didn't even finish it! Please note: I'm comparing this to the very best. The customer service was phenomenal, the atmosphere is great, the food just fell short of perfection. The Thai tee was just too sweet, and the basil chicken: the chicken was minced and tasted boiled, better than Campbell's though. It was a little watery too. The sauce was just a little off balance: I think they put just a tad too much salt. These are just common mistakes that any restaurant will make. I will come back over here again when I'm in the neighborhood and give them a second chance. But if you want the best, my verdict is that Bangkok 54's basil chicken wins this round. read more

Everything about this meal was just perfect! I got the Gaeng Massaman Curry and asked for the highest level of spicy. The beef, potatoes, pineapple, and cashews mixed with the super spicy sauce made for an amazing dish. The service here was great, nice atmosphere, and the relaxing classical music made for a wonderful dining experience. Best pad Thai in San Antonio area! Each pad Thai dish is individually crafted for your order instead of having the sauce already made. You can taste the freshness! Perfect balance of sweet & sour, which is usually hard to get right. Your order takes longer, but it is well worth the wait! Excellent service! I wish they had khao soi here because it would probably be outstanding too. My only critique was that the gaeang massamun curry was a Lil too sweet but I was able to tweak that with the Chile vinegar provided with our dishes. From now on, I will appease my pad Thai cravings here at Siam. No need to go elsewhere. read more

We are in the area for the weekend. We ordered a couple of appetizers for our party (3 people). We decided to just share a couple of entrees. When we got a taste of the two dishes, we couldn't resist sampling another dish! The pad thai, stir fry vegetables and the panang curry were all wonderful! The appetizers (fried tofu and the calamari) though, were just ok. The staff was nice. The lady who sat us and took our order initially looked forbidding. But as we were ordering, she was very accommodating and was even bantering with our son. She also did not mind us belatedly ordering the third entree. First impression: lovely and peaceful atmosphere Customer service: Philip was super nice, helpful, & even allowed me to have some soup on the house while waited for my lunch to go. Additionally, he helped me navigate through the menu like a champ. I am not much a Thai tea kind of person but they allowed me to try it and swap it out for some unsweet tea. They ran out of cup trays but he made one in a bag with a piece of cardboard at the bottom. Talk about innovative and nice! Food: portions are small-won't lie about that. HOWEVER, upon looking at their menu they have tons of ingredients and the prices are a little bit higher. I believe quality over quantity any day. I would like more food to take to go but the plate and appetizer I got was absolutely delicious. I personally think they are 5 stars BUT I am a tiny girl that doesn't eat very much. I have changed my feeling on this place. This restaurant has gouged the public long enough with its inflated prices in relation to its portion sizes. No longer is this restaurant recommended. In order to enjoy my meal here, I had to buy 2 entrees for one person, resulting in a final bill of $21.00. Do your self a favor, for Thai food, when in the area, do a search for Noy's Bistro, or Thai Spice and Sushi at the Forum. Also at the Forum, a great alternative for Vietnamese food is "A Dong" (funny name, excellent food). Stay Away from Siam Cuisine. Your wallet and empty stomach will thank you. read more

Now being of half Thai descent (that's right...I'm Thai, not Hispanic. Common mistake), I don't find myself going out for Thai food often, if at all. Most Thai places bastardize Thai food with crap like bell peppers, water chestnuts, filler vegetables, and those f'ing evil baby corns! On a side note, baby corns are an abomination of nature and truly evil. Sprinkle some peanuts on it and squirt some fish sauce and VOILA! Thai food... Some general factoids about Thai food... 1. not everything Thai people eat is spicy 2. Thai people rarely use chop sticks. We eat with spoons and forks. Crazy, huh? 3. I have never seen a bell pepper in Thailand Now...all THAT being said, Siam cuisine is pretty close to authentic. Traditional dishes contrasted with modern creations. The menu is diverse and appealing. Being the noodle whore I am, I went with the duck noodle soup. Flat rice noodles and duck meat in a rich duck stock. The stock was aromatic with a hint of star anise and clove but a touch sweet for my taste. I was able to balance it with some additional fish sauce, vinegar, and some surprisingly lip scorching ground Thai peppers. My buddy had the seafood noodles, which he found palate pleasing. My only complaint was the price. Ringing in at over $10, I would have enjoyed a wee bit more duck. The amount of meat supplied was pretty scant. (TWSS!) The star of the meal was hands down the stuffed chicken wings. Boneless wings stuffed with minced pork, ginger, garlic, and bean thread. All lovingly deep fried. Motherf*&king delicious! Perfectly fried and so full of flavor. I could picture myself sitting on the floor in my underwear watching old Love Boat reruns while chowing down on a bucket of these little rascals! Was it the best Thai food outside of my or my mothers kitchen? Not by a long shot...but I would not be averse to bellying up to a meal at Siam Cuisine if the opportunity were to present itself again. read more

Wow! Visiting from Dallas with my Sis-in-Law & Niece and was impressed with everything we tried. Thanks MH & SH for sharing such a great gem :) We went light on the spice, but they brought me my own little spice tray so I could kick it up a notch. Be warned, the crushed red peppers include their Thai chilis which are WAY hotter than normal. If you've had authentic Thai, you know what I am talking about. If you're not used to authentic Thai, please tell them you want light or no spice! Otherwise, on the Thai spicy scale of 1-5, your tummy might hurt and your lips may burn for a few minutes. We had a delicious green papaya salad, another salad with ground pork, little crab/cream cheese eggrolls, and a few spring rolls. Great starters! Then, we had chicken pad thai, some seafood spicy noodles with basil, and a chicken red curry. We loved all of it, very fresh! The wait staff was so attentive on drink refills. Could it be because MH is their biggest fan? Possible, but we did not have to wait long for anything. The Thai iced tea was good, sweet and almost a dessert. Then, we had the coconut ice cream with sticky rice. I am not a fan of the sticky rice but the ice cream was awesome. So, if you're in the mood for something a little different and definitely more healthy than fast food, give Siam a try. For newbies, I'd recommend you start with the pad thai or the spicy basil fried rice. It just may take the place of your favorite Asian restaurants. read more

While traveling in the San Antonio area for vacation we searched Yelp for places to eat dinner after going to Natural Bridge Wildlife Zoo and Caverns. We read the reviews for Siam Cuisine and decided to give it a try. The whole family was glad we did. Everything we ordered was excellent. I highly recommend the Tom Yum soup! It is very addicting! The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. The wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. It was so good that we drove out of our way to go back again later in the week. Give this place a try. Joy and I decided to have a late lunch today. Lunch service ends at 3pm, and we arrived at 2:30. We were greeted warmly and the service was prompt and friendly throughout lunch. Never felt rushed...as a matter of fact, a number of people came in to eat well after we did, with several after 3pm. They were all treated well, with no indication of any irritation for arriving after hours by the staff. We ordered summer rolls, pork satay and the lunch special of pad Thai, which we shared. (The lunch special also included a cup of delicious chicken soup for each of us.). The iced tea (regular, unsweetened) was outstanding, as was all of the food. We asked to have all three dishes served at the same time, which they did. This was a very nice lunch for two with a bill of $28.47 before tip. Higher than a fast food joint, but infinitely better and worth the cost. At a loss to explain why there are a number of reviewers who complain about the prices, but to each their own. I've only been at lunch, but it is always good. They even have Yum Nuer on the lunch special! Today I had chicken Pad Kee Mao, done Thai spicy! Excellent, with the exception of the baby corn and bell peppers. I dislike bell peppers and absolutely hate baby corn....... But the flavor was great. Probably the best Pad Kee Mao north of 410. And the Thai spicy was Thai spicy. Thai peppers and jalapenos. Nice and clean, with a very friendly staff. Thumbs up! read more
