Pad woon sen :(10/10) Great flavor and texture , only downside is that they don't do this dish with any protein at all. Only veggies . I've had variations of this dish more like a salad , lettuce on the bottom with the noodles on top usually with shrimp and chicken . But have not found a place that serve it this style yet in Indy . My daughter is a vegan who is deathly allergic to seafood. We ordered a vegan meal for her and within minutes of she was having an anaphylactic reaction and had to go to the emergency room. Sometimes during the dinner rush there could be a few people ahead of you in line, but I've never waited over 10min. And, they recently updated their website and it looks AMAZING, well done. Checked this place out because it was highly rated and not too far from my house. We got take out: green curry with shrimp and beef pad see ew. The food tastes good but the portion sizes are too small for the price. We paid the extra $2.50 for the shrimp in the curry and there were only six shrimp! Cmon guys. So I ended 2020, NYE dinner with Thai food. I had to try my favorite gem of a Thai spot in Fountain Square, Siam Square! I called in my order. Wait time for my order was only 20 minutes, so I just waited outside in my car before walking into the front door. I havent been inside since Covid pandemic has started, but the interior design has been updated and its modern chic! Currently there is limited capacity seating and its only for lunch time dining. After 20 mins, I came in and waited at the front desk and paid via credit card. Their was a limit with pens (server couldn't find one), luckily I bring a ink pen with me for such occasions :). Everything was packaged and bagged up tight. Once I got home, I dived into my Bangkok fried rice with chicken (spicy), thom yum soup, and the veggie spring rolls, mmmm, mmmm, GOOD! EVERYTHING WAS STILL HOT, from a 25 minute drive back home, so I thoroughly enjoyed not having to re-heat food once I got home. The spicy fried rice and soup was just what I needed to open my sinuses and usher in the New Year with one of my favorite restaurants. Spice levels are in line with my tastes and the food is always prepared perfectly. I don't really have a favorite dish here and I usually order something I haven't had before. This has typically been my experience with more Americanized Thai places I do have a complaint about the ratio. There is a ton of noodle, but not much vegetable and no protein. It seems there are bits of egg, but I would expect tofu to be added for vegetarian. A bit expensive for mostly noodles. I'd like to see more vegetables and protein, so it is more of a balanced meal. The way you order you is like a Panda Express took out the whole restaurant feel of the atmosphere. You have to hurry up and order your drinks your everything up at the register take a number go and sit down and it's just like being in a McDonald's. They're baaack. After a hiatus to update the decor Siam Square back. I didn't realize how much I missed those fresh piping hot and crispy spring rolls. I missed them so much I had an side order with my Bangkok Fried rice. So they are not taking orders and payments at the front desk. It adds a little bit of wait and congestion, it give you enough time to take in all of the events of the decor. From the bamboo wall, the new flooring, the new lighting fixtures and pictures. Seating is self service and includes two community tables. Also you self service water. The food was out fast and hot as usual. Flavorful as usual. This is a lovely little Thai restaurant in a historic Tin and Furnace building in Fountain Square. The dining room is bright, upscale and pristine. We called for reservations and put table was ready on arrival. Although we were are the rear of the space , we were quite cold throughout the meal. Guess that's expected in an old building. There was a space heater near the front of the room. Our server, Oliver, was friendly, helpful, attentive and a five star. He recommended favorite plates and answered questions. Our glasses were kept full. We tried a special appetizer - shrimp Rangoon rolls. They arrived quickly and were delicious. The accompanying sauce was fresh. We ordered and shared chicken pad Thai ($12.50) and the egg plant stir fry with shrimp ($14.50) with hot spice level. The spice level was great. Both dishes were very good, with fresh vegetables in the stir fry. They have a beer and limited wine menu. The cab was very good at $9 a glass. We shared the fried banana with mango ice cream desert ($6). Banana slices were wrapped in spring roll wrappers and fried and topped with honey. Meh. Wish i could give it more stars. I was sooo excited to try this place out. I've heard amazing reviews from my friends and Siam was at the top of my list of places to try. My friends and I walked in and no one greeted us. It was our first time at Siam and we had no clue how the seating/ordering style so we sat ourselves. No one told us we had to walk up to the front to place our order until after a few minutes of us sitting at the table looking around for the waitress. The whole ordering process is very confusing and not effective. It makes the restaurant feel like "fast food" when you're paying close to $20 for a meal. We go up to order and they give you a table card to place on the table so the waitress knows where your food is going. My friends and i paid separate but we asked that our food came out together since we are sitting together.... it doesn't. ALL of our foods came at such weird times. I got my appetizer wayyyy before everyone else. So by the time their food came, mine was cold. The pad Thai i ordered was not good. It was stiff and warm. It was also bright orange (and i got the mild flavor). It seemed like the pad Thai had been cooked and sitting on the plate for some time by the time it got to me. It had nothing but the noodles, peanuts and chicken.... i feel like i was cheated out of all the other ingredients. In addition to, the restaurant was suuuuper cold. I didnt take off my parka the entire time i was there and my hands were still cold. All in all, I was not wowed by this place and the service/food is subpar in my opinion.
