Went on a Sunday night so it was a bit crowded but they managed to squeeze six of us in. Restaurant isn't very big so could be hard to get a seat if going with a large group. Tom yum soup and mango sticky rice were great! The fries were underwhelming and lacked any seasoning or salt. The first two times we went the pork belly was really good but they changed to a much thinner and less fatty version that had bones in it so that wasn't as good this time. Still a good spot for Thai food, but would try other items next time!
Came in on a Saturday dinner time. Street parking available on nearby neighborhood. Staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations. The drinks were great with both Thai ice tea and coffee, both not too sweet. The cocktail mango was really delicious. Food wise, we ordered red curry with chicken, drunken noodles with chicken, Niyom soup (creamy tom yum soup full of seafood) and a market price fried red snapper with mango tango salad sauce. The spice level is accurate on the menu. Everything is delicious with the fish of slightly less of my liking as it's too dry. The environment is spacious and welcoming. Will come back again! Price are decent.
I was in the area, so I stopped by for an early lunch. I had tried them when they first opened, so I'm happy to see they're still around. I was almost disappointed when I saw their sign still said closed a couple minutes past 11:30 AM, but they switched it really quick. Service was friendly and attentive. The Som Tum Pu Pla-Ra had such a delicious spicy, fermented briney umami to it. The crab was tender and well marinated, so it is on the salty side. The papaya and vegetables still had a good bite to them. The spiciness is no joke. Enjoyable, but I definitely wanted a break in between bites. A must get if you enjoy these flavors! I got the lunch special, which is available everyday (yes, weekends included. I was here on a Saturday!): - Complimentary Salad: crisp and fresh veggies. Great peanut sauce. - Chive Pancake: Crisp exterior and airy interior. The sweet chili dipping sauce added great flavor. Not too sweet or spicy. - Garlic Noodles w/ Crispy Pork Belly: the pork belly was really crisped up, so some pieces were a bit too crisped up for me. The noodles were cooked well though. A lot of good flavos, a bit heavy on the salty umami but I like that. I'd choose a different protein next time. I did take the som tum pu pla-ra and the garlic noodles home for leftovers. Both maintained their deliciousness. The Mango Thai Tea has a good balance of mango and thai tea. It was a little sweet, but not overly so. Overall a solid Thai spot in the area, especially for the lunch special! A lot of fellow diners ordered the lunch special as well.
Great ambiance and good food, but have had better in my previous experience here and in other Thai restaurants. Niyom has a great ambiance, perfect for dinner with family or friends. The service here was also 5/5! Everyone was friendly and attentive throughout weekend dinner service. I think where it fell short a little bit for me were the dishes being ok (3.5/5). We ordered appetizer fries from their seasonal menu, which ended up plain fries with spicy mayo. Was hoping that the fries would be seasoned or a bit more unique, expected a bit more with the price. For my main, I ordered crispy pork belly basil over rice! Sauce was incredibly delicious, fried egg was yummy! The pork was also yummy but a bit on the tougher side, so it felt a tad overcooked. (I came here last Fall, and had the crispy pork belly appetizer which was sooo good, so I came into the restaurant with that in mind.) Tom yum was nice and spicy, and mango sticky rice was good (I do love the butterfly pea rice!!) Overall, I feel like Niyom has good dishes and a good restaurant environment, making it a great neighborhood spot if you're close by.

My top recommendations is Niyom soup and their Drunken noodle.

She ordered the shrimp Pad Thai (which she absolutely loved), and I had a comforting beef soup with tender pieces of steak, egg noodles, and vegetables--so flavorful and satisfying. We also shared chai pancakes She enjoyed a Thai iced tea, and I opted for green tea. This time we shared dessert with the green tea ice cream. This is about our 6th time here, and at this point, we've definitely become regulars. Always delicious, always worth it.

Service is fast. Less crowd during visit ( Thursday night) but noticed plenty of take outs pick up. Home cooking style is favorable to me as if I feel so at home. Foods were delicious. We loved each items we had . We were enjoying each other's company and were not rushed during our stay. Simple yet enjoyable experience here.

You get a salad, generously tossed in peanut sauce, and an appetizer of your choice to start - we chose the Chive Pancakes, which were deliciously prepared. The lunch special portion of the main entree is quite generous, so be prepared to pack some leftovers to go. The Bangkok Wings were perfectly seasoned and had a great crispy exterior - would recommend ordering this as well!
Not bad at all. Cute little Thai restaurant, good food, great lunch specials, and nice staff. Honestly had no complaints of the place itself and there seems to be something for everyone here if you love Thai food. I got the red curry, which was tasty. Although tbh, red curry makes me a bit sad in that it never comes with potatoes, but with more bamboo shoots than I would ever want to eat in a sitting. It's pretty standard for Thai-style red curries and the ingredients are fairly consistent, so it is what it is. It also came with plenty of chicken for meat eaters, although I'm also the type that would rather get fewer pieces of chicken in exchange that it's white meat, but again just my particular personal preferences. I went with the Thai dumplings for my app as I've never had it, and it seems to be ground up chicken and shrimp. Great choice for meat lovers. Next time, I'd go with the chive pancake pieces or the vegetable dumplings though. Pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles are great choices too, glad I got try a bite from my table.
We tried this Thai restaurant recommended by my son as apparently the spot has a high rating at on-line reviews. Went there at the peak of dinner time, looking for a parking is somewhat of a challenge. The establishment has a warm, cozy, and modern ambiance that is both casual and classy. It is bright and airy with a contemporary, minimalist style, creating a welcoming and chill atmosphere that is lively but not overly noisy. Table setting is casual. Indoor gets somewhat chilly during cold weathers most specially when their door opens and closes frequently when costumers are coming in and out. The food place has authentic and satisfactory food, including dishes like the Niyom combo appetizer, pad Thai, tom yum soup, wonton soup, green curry, crispy duck, Chinese broccoli with crispy pork over rice, pineapple fried rice and a few more. I have noted that the spice level on certain dishes like the green curry are slightly under-delivered. I have noticed an abundant amount of bone cartilage on my crispy pork dish, otherwise it taste good but not great. Food was properly spiced and decently cooked. Wait time during the busy hour was fast and efficient. The lunch specials, which include a salad, appetizer, and entrée, are considered a great value. Portion sizes are generally generous for the price. I was wearing a funny smile when I saw an ad on each table that says costumers get one free special vanilla ice cream or a green tea ice cream if they scan the QR code (in my photos) and give the restaurant a five star rating, which led me to thinking, is this the reason for the high rating? Or should I trade my rating for a freebie? I was delighted with the friendly and attentive service, the great food value, and the cozy atmosphere.

the vibe is so homey and cozy, low lighting, comfy seating, totally a date night spot. We sat there for hours and nobody rushed us out. The chicken pineapple fried rice was packed with flavor, sweet and savory and just so good. But the shrimp drunken noodles stole the show. Noodles cooked perfectly, shrimp was fresh, sauce had a nice kick. And the service? Amazing, super friendly and attentive the whole time. Definitely coming back for date night again. read more

Came here for their lunch special which is daily and it was such a great value! Got the chive for my apps, which was the perfect bite. I chose crispy duck (which I don't normally see as an option) and it was delicious. My drunken noods had a slightly bland flavor than most but kinda like that it was less salty My partner got the pad Thai with squid which he was also a fan of!! read more

They offer spring roll, chive pancake, veggies dumpling, and thai dumpling as apps. For entree protein, they offer vegetable/tofu ($14), chicken/pork ($15), crispy pork belly, beef/shrimp/squid ($16), and crispy duck/mixed seafood ($17). The portion is pretty good for lunch. The pad thai is a bit on the saucy end, but the fried rice is well flavored. Thai iced tea and soft drinks are all mostly $6 (soda can $2.50). Despite the sauciness (preference), I would come here again since I would like to try their squid or crispy duck versions next time! read more

My husband and I have been here for a few times, and we love the food here! My favorite dish here is the crab meat fried rice. We also appreciate that they offer lunch special over the weekend. The staff are super nice. We will be back again! read more

We came here on a weekend and were surprised to see that they have lunch specials every day. We had the crispy pork belly and massaman curry which were both excellent. They also have happy hour Monday to Friday which we will be trying soon. read more

This place is a hike unless you're already out in eastern Queens, but it's worth the detour. No wait when we visited at 6:50 PM on a Friday! I tried: + Lychee lemonade + Chive pancake + Papaya salad + Crispy duck over rice + Tom yum soup + Mango sticky rice Top highlights were the chive pancake, tom yum soup and mango sticky rice. Also really liked the lemonade and papaya salad. The only thing that was short of amazing was the crispy duck over rice (wasn't really crispy at all) - would try the crispy duck salad instead next time. Stumbled upon Niyom Thai after an appointment. This establishment is quiet but lovely, & it's definitely a hidden gem! The staff were super friendly, and the food did not disappoint. Went for lunch and grabbed their Niyom combo appetizer. This was tasty and a great way to sample a bit of everything. Their lunch menu is solid too! It includes a salad, your choice of appetizer, and an entrée. I went with the chive pancakes and the crispy duck with basil fried rice, which packed the perfect heat. Had this place bookmarked for a very long time and was finally able to come on a weekday to try out their lunch special. But found out they serve lunch special everyday from 11:30am - 4pm (except holidays). We ordered a Shrimp Pad Thai Lunch Special that came with salad and app of choice, which we chose Thai Dumpling. Also ordered Beef Drunken Noodle Lunch Special with salad and Chive Pancake. The Drunken Noodle really stood out to us! The flavor and wok hay was really good, and loved seeing that they did not skimp out on the beef. The Pad Thai was really good too and we were surprised at how much noodles there were. Their special Green Tea Ice Cream was also very good - not too sweet nor too bitter, and the whipped cream and Oreo toppings complimented the whole dessert very well. Service was really friendly and the environment was also very clean. Can't wait to come back and try the other items on the menu! read more

Absolutely delicious food. First time here and we will be back! Massaman curry was like a soup but did pack the flavor. Duck was crisp and ungreasy. Got the raw shrimp salad and dressing was spicy, sour, sweet... great. All very fresh. Courses bunched up a bit but I don't care given the food. read more

Our first time here and our whole group of 8 was very happy! Great service, nice ambiance and the food was delicious. We all had the lunch special and were not disappointed. I had massaman curry with veggies, a spring roll and salad . Delicious ginger drink. Fabulous green tea ice cream! We will be back! read more
I havent been here since it opened, but it's definitely worth a regular visit now. The food menu changed drastically and all the flavors and drinks were on point, whether you order shareable apps and dishes or individual entrees. Come with a friend, enjoy the drinks and food! read more

First time visit on a Sunday afternoon. Meter/ residential parking available. Not the easiest to locate a parking but we did within 2 blocks. We were seated promptly. Waitress explained the menu to us as we asked. Lunch special $13-$16 are available 7 days a week except holidays. We ordered: - lunch special $16 crispy duck with drunken noodle with chive pancake as appetizer: Duck was dry but noodles were flavorful. Chive pancake was ok and portion was small. - lunch special $16 mixed seafood with Pad Thai with spring roll as appetizer: Good seafood portion. Pad Thai was too 'wet' to my liking. - appetizer combo: niyom combo $17: 2 of each : Thai dumpling, shrimp roll, crab Rangoon and curry puff. Each served with its own sauce. We love the flavorful Thai dumplings the most. Curry puff wasn't crispy. It was on the soft side. - Tom Yum soup with shrimp ( small) $8: it was good. Even the broth has shrimp flavor. - soft shell crab casserole $25: our favorite. Great tasting crab bedded with underlying pork belly slices, cabbage and cellophane noodles. - coco mango mocktail $9 : nice presentation garnished with dried mango and fresh flower. A sweet drink that my kids like. - Lychee juice $5 : we understand it's not going to be freshly squeezed juice. It felt strange since the glass was only 2/3 full. It's like they don't want you open another can/bottle to fill up to the top. Overall service was good. Waitress was patient. You have to know what to order. Ambient was ok. Instead of loud English rap/pop, may be some calming Asian instrumental may be more soothing. 3.5 stars really. Bright clean location, with ample seating on a Monday evening. Service is fast and efficient. We ordered 2 coctails, they didn't bring them at the same time, which was a bit strange. My friend wanted to try her drink, but also didn't want to start drinking while I just watched...I obviously wouldn't have minded, but by not bringing the drinks together it created a brief albeit awkward moment. The spring rolls were typical almost empty lacking flavor fried .. the papaya salad was fresh and mildly spiced, even though we asked for it spicy. It was good though. The peanut dumplings were extremely soft and difficult to pick up without falling apart. But had a beautiful purple skin. With a little sugar and coconut milk they could be yummy for dessert, but not a great appetizer. The pad woonsen was disappointing. It lacked flavor. The cocktails were adequate. read more
In our constant conquest for the perfect Thai dish, we recently got takeout from here. Overall, it was worth the try. We started with the curry puffs, which were easily the best part of the meal. Excellent flavoring and crunch to the puffs. My only complaint was that there were only 3-could have been 4 for the price. We went with the crispy pork belly basil, which was nice. I think every Thai place can be judged off their version of Thai basil and chive pancakes (the latter we did not get here, but wish I had to try!), so in judging this spot it was a fine option. We also tried the boat noodles, as it seems so popular. I was nervous about the blood broth, but it's not like blood pudding or other blood dishes I've had, so that was a nice surprise. It was actually fairly sweet, which was interesting. Could have used a bit more crunch to it, however. Spicewise was fine. I actually had some trouble picking what I wanted as their menu wasn't terribly unique, so you'd ultimately rely on some standard Thai dishes. Probably wouldn't need to try a second time for other options. read more

This is a 3.5-star review, and prefer to round up. Once every few weeks, wifey and I get in the mood for some Thai food. We usually stick to our comfort zone with our choices: a curry, a noodle dish, maybe some curry puffs, and occasionally, we try a special. We've ordered from here twice since they opened, trying the Pad See Ew with beef, Massaman Curry with chicken, Drunken Noodles, Fried Chicken Special, and Papaya Salad. Since we've done both delivery and takeout (my wife went inside), I can't really comment on the interior. However, I did speak with the staff while ordering, and they were really nice and on point with the pick up time (which was pretty fast--15 minutes, so that's a plus). Both times, the noodle dishes were okay. In my opinion, the Pad See Ew is definitely better than the Drunken Noodles. The Drunken Noodles could have used a bit more flavor, but they were still decent. The Massaman Curry was good--slightly sweeter than a regular red curry, but still enjoyable. The curry puffs were comparable to those at other places. My wife said the Papaya Salad was really garlicky, and that other places do it better. The Fried Chicken Special I thought was pretty good and would definitely recommend trying. So overall, not bad. Hopefully, the next time I try them, there will be a bit more flavor in the noodle dishes. read more

We've been here numerous times and always enjoy their authentic Thai dishes. I've been to Thai so many times over the years and this restaurant is the real thing. My favorite is the chive pancake and pad Thai. read more
