Not sure how the food tasted; the service was so rude that I left without my take-out order. We called in the order, arrived when we were told, but had to wait about 10 more minutes. No big deal to wait, but during those few minutes both the older and younger ladies wasted no time ignoring my questions and arguing back when I explained I was just a first-time customer who lived nearby and wanted to know basic information like delivery area and fee. Who turns and walks away when a customer is speaking to you? Who yells at their customers and then in the same breath boasts about being in the restaurant business for 13 years? If you don't mind arrogant, unhelpful service, I'm sure it's fine. I choose to spend my money elsewhere. Plenty of options down the street in Park Ridge! By the way, their interior leaves much to be desired. When they are busy they just forget you. I tried to order from here twice this week. First day it was busy and they said they were out of a house special and very busy (over an hour) so I passed. Whether it be juicy pieces of grilled pork on a stick or a fiery bowl of 'Tom Yum' soup or Chicken, Pork or Shrimp Pad Thai, you cannot go wrong with whatever you decide to order at Siam Treasure. The food was fairly flavorful. We enjoyed everything including the service. If you want to get out of your comfort zone, you may want to try something with coconut or peanut sauce. Try the mini spring rolls, for starters, which is served with a delectable plum sauce. The sauce alone deserves 5 stars! Service is efficient, but not overly attentive. Water glasses were filled when needed. This is a very casual, small and cozy restaurant sharing space in a teeny-tiny strip mall. Parking can be a bit challenging since the parking lot is super small. Park in front of the UPS store or the eye doctor's office if you want easy "in and out" of the parking lot. We stopped here on the way to a "game" night at a friend's house. Our friends live in Glenview, and usually serve appetizers during game night. We thought we would grab dinner here first. We always enjoy Thai food, and have hit up several excellent Thai restaurants in the heart of the city. We were impressed with how good the food was here. It exhibits a profusion of exotic flavors and fragrances making it among the most coveted of international cuisines. Four main seasonings used in Thai food involve salty, sweet, sour, and spicy (as well as the use of lime juice or fresh limes). Basil, lemongrass, and galangal (Thai ginger) are also used here combining cooking influences from Indonesia, Laos, Burma, and Malaysia. These flavors and fragrances are seemingly inexhaustible. This restaurant is GOOD for those who don't want to break their budget and want freshly prepared Thai food with quality ingredients. (A side note -- 11-22-2013): We really like the Thai food here, so we ordered "carry out" on Friday. Our food was ready when I walked in the door to pick it up. Not a problem. Our order was correct. The food arrived at our house still hot. It was a great way to unwind from a long stressful week. We enjoyed all the fresh ingredients and delectable flavors. The portions are generous (I couldn't finish my Chicken Pad Thai). They were very busy. It was obvious that they do a large volume of carry out especially on Friday. I didn't experience any rudeness here. In fact, the lady was pleasant and friendly. My experience was positive. This is a "mom and pop" family business operation. They are super busy with "take out" orders especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. Also, this is not a restaurant where you go for the decor. It is casual, small and cozy. If you want ambiance (a great decor) and excellent Thai food then go to the "Star of Siam" in the Loop. read more

A Treasure indeed...best Panang curry Noodles ever. After hunting around a bit, this has been our go-to Thai place for over 5 years. The curries are well seasoned and good. Mom and pop Thai place with an ordinary, small seating area but friendly service and really good food. Good quality, fresh vegetables are apparent from their cucumber salad to their red curry. Have been eating from here for probably the last 6 or 7 years if not longer. I have never been disappointed with an order. Staff is very nice and if I call in an order to pick up it's usually ready in 15 minutes. This is my go to Thai place. I love the golden boat and egg roll appetizers. The cucumber salad is delicious and refreshing. Any main course item is great too, just depends on what you are in the mood for. Their broccoli beef is tasty because it has some ginger added to it. When we moved from the West Loop area to our first home in Jefferson Park we had so many bad delivery experiences. Once we started to narrow down our top places for Italian, Chinese, Pizza, Ribs, etc., Siam Treasure sits at the top of our list for thai in the area. I give 4 stars based upon the thai standards in this area. By Chicago standards it's a 3 star. The food is very consistent. It's not by any means the best thai in Chicago, but for Jefferson Park it's as good as we've found. Food is always hot and delivered within 30-45 minutes. The same lady delivers every time and is always joking and smiling when she drops off the food. The beef thai fried rice is on point. Always cooked well. The yellow curry is pretty addicting as well. They send a hilariously small size rice with the curry dishes so make sure you order an extra. The pad thai is usually cooked well, but needs an extra kick of soy and sriracha to make it more palatable. read more

We have tried some soups, beef fried rice, some shrimp dishes and some appetizers. All were good. My only complaint would be that the portions are rather small for the price. I love Siam Treasure. I typically get the Cashew Chicken, but have tried the Pepper Steak, Panang Noodle, Pad Thai, Basil Chicken, and Sweet and Sour Chicken, and have been very pleased with all of them. However, the difference maker at Siam Treasure is the Golden Boat. We order it almost every time we go there, and it is absolutely outstanding. I generally try to avoid fried foods, but I make an exception with the Golden Boat because it is simply the best appetizer I have ever eaten. The ladies who run Siam Treasure couldn't be nicer. Amy, Paula, and Nu are always very friendly when we go there, and know us by name. If you are looking for great Thai food served by a great staff, Siam Treasure is the place. As a previous post explained, it is not fancy in terms of decor, and navigating the parking lot can be a bit tight, but it is worth it for the food and service in my opinion. read more

Ordered for pick up. This place has deceptively good pricing because the portions are small. The spring roll appetizer was very small compared to other Thai places, and it appeared to have been sitting in the fridge for a few hours beforehand. (Only in the suburbs can you get away with serving pre-made food.) Not a good way to start the meal. The entrees, pad see ew and green curry, were tasty, but small. I don't feel like two normal sized adults should be paying $23 only to still be hungry after finishing. The value proposition is just not there. read more

After moving to the neighborhood a few months ago, I was happy to see that I was less than 2 blocks from this Thai place after having eaten myself half to death with greek food and burgers while my kitchen was being gutted. Absolutely loved the Chicken Pad Thai. Dabbled around with a few other dishes, but am constantly drawn back for the Pad Thai even now that my kitchen is fully functional. Have yet to eat in the restaurant itself, but have done a few pick-ups and the decor seems nice, although the place is pretty small. It is hardly ever close to full, though, so the small size seems more than adequate. read more

I travel all over the US practically every week. I just got back to my O'Hare hotel from Siam Treasure. I have to say that it is one of the best Thai places I've eaten at and I eat Thai a lot. I prefer the Siam Treasure's homey atmosphere with great food over glitzy over-decorated and expensive places. Siam Treasure was doing a brisk take-out and delivery business, so I did not expect instant service, but the two women functioning as waitresses did an excellent job. I have a favorite dish that is my Thai comparison standard. It is Goong Ka Prow and Siam Treasure did a stellar job with it. The steamed banana with sticky rice was most excellent. I had Nam Tok for salad/appetizer and it was also most excellent. I will most surely visit Siam Treasure again next time I have a layover at O'Hare. Highly recommended. read more

Dear Siam Treasure, You are not a treasure nor do you treat your customers like treasure. So I'm breaking up with you. I remember our first date, your lad na was so spicy, just the way I like it...but I found you on Grubhub and set a delivery time that you ignored, arriving 45 minutes early. A little too eager, but the food was serviceable so I let it slide. For our next date, I placed an ordered for a bunch of Thai grub to feed our nanny who was watching the kids for the night. Again, a specified time was set and you again arrived about 30 minutes early. A slight improvement, but the food gets so cold by the time she planned on eating, it's really a disservice to the food and a lose-lose. The third try was not a charm. Tonight, I just wanted a quiet night in with some cashew shrimp, drunken noodles, and an assortment of other Thai goodies. Did not set a time for delivery this time as I knew it would just be ignored. Instead, I figured I'll just order around 5:15 and plan to have the food by the max estimated delivery time of 1 hr 10 minutes. The estimated delivery deadline came and went. At precisely 6:25, I called to inquire about the MIA food. Lady picks up and told me she would call the delivery driver and find out, explaining that she had left 15 minutes ago and should already be there. I wait. And wait. And waited some more but no returned call and no food. I try again, calmly asking if she had found out about the status. Annoyed, she said she could not get through to the driver and would try again, hanging up on me. Again, I waited and waited for either the food or an update. Ten minutes later, having received neither, I called back. I promptly get attitude from lady, asking why am I calling again. I explained I was still without food and more importantly completely in the dark about the prospects of food being delivered at all. She gives me a side of more attitude, explaining that she's too busy to deal with me and if I wanted my food I'd have to deal with the wait (which is well beyond the advertised time frames). I told her to just cancel my order then. She hangs up on me (again). Soon after, I get a call from a different number. It's the delivery driver, who happens to be the owner, stating that she's on my street. No apology, just pointing the finger at me for ordering off their rinkydink website and confusing her. She rolls up and the first words out of her mouth was not an apology, but rather criticism that it's too dark in my front yard and whines that I didn't turn the lights on for her (there are no lights to turn on...that's not even the front door). I just wanted to grab my food, give a zero for a tip, and shut the door. But she wanted to talk about things... I explained that my only issue is the rudeness and lack of apology. She eventually said she had places to go ...so go. I won't be seeing you again, the food is not good enough to overcome the rudeness and incompetence of getting things right (my order was wrong,but dare I even call? No thanks.) There's hundreds of Thai restaurants, time to start swiping right elsewhere. I recommend that you do the same. read more

Siam Treasure Thai is one of the spots that I've been passing by for twenty years. I had no idea that it would be so delicious. A friend and I went for lunch a couple days ago, and the hostess needed to duck out for a couple seconds, but she assured us very cheerfully that she would return momentarily. I are the pad see eiu which is similar to pad Thai but has fat noodles. And it was so satisfying. The feel of the place is friendly and welcoming and the food is perfect. Note to past customers - this is under new ownership. I don't know when it was taken over but I was greatly disappointed in the dish I get every time - Red Curry pork. Not nearly as good, and the portion seemed smaller portions too. My friend had the Pad Thai and it was good but sweeter than it used to be. Service was very slow - one guy was doing everything - and he didn't seem to have good serving skills, not checking back, giving you a to-go box without a bag, not asking if you wanted a beverage. Maybe they were short staffed. Anyway, I'm bummed - this was my go-to place for Thai. Hopefully they'll get better. I'll give them one more try. read more

Tried this last night after hubby wanted Thai and I wasn't game for the one closest to our house. This turned out to be an alright alternative although somethings i wouldn't necessarily order again. We ordered the egg rolls and spring rolls. I guess I was expecting spring rolls in that clearish rice paper or whatever it's made out of, these were in a white wrapping that looked exactly the same as the egg roll except not fried. It was alright, the sauce was good. Same with the egg rolls, they were okay and the sauce was good. I wills ay that both of these were very inexpensive. We ordered the chicken pad thai, the green curry and the crazy noodles with tofu. The pad thai was tasty. I wouldn't say the chicken was moist, but it was pretty good. The green curry was quite spicy, which was excellent. There wasn't a whole lot of veggies or meat in it, it almost seemed like a soup instead of an entree, but good flavor. The crazy noodles I ordered with tofu. Much to my surprise and disappointment the tofu in it was fried (yuck). The description states it has ground meats in it. I don't think it did. I really didn't see any. There were lots of fresh veggies in it, which was good. And they weren't over-cooked, most were still somewhat crunchy, also good. There wasn't much sauce and all the noodles were stuck together which made it hard to eat. Overall I thought the flavor was decent, but I would no order this again and although I love tofu I would not order tofu from here again now that i know it is fried. We got this as take-out and ordered online so I don't have any comments about the service, interior or location. I think we will order from here again, only because hubby occasionally wants Thai and this is better than the one near us. However left to my own devices I probably wouldn't go back. read more

Inconsistent service and charged my credit card twice. They weren't able to figure out how to fix it, so I will have to go through my bank to correct their error. After I posted my original review, the owner of the business called me twice yelling into the phone that she didn't charge me twice and to take down my review. She screamed that "if you don't like it, then you shouldn't order again". DONE! Regardless of whether I am correct or not, it is so inappropriate for a business owner to make multiple harrassing phone calls to a customer because of a yelp review. Very good food for very reasonable prices. My wife and I used to live in Lakeview amongst an Asian restaurant mecca on Broadway and have been looking for better Thai food in the Park Ridge area. The portions could have been a little bigger but for $7.00 I'm not really going to complain.
