    Pad Thai

There were no diners when we arrived at noon, so we had our pick of the tables. Everything was neat and orderly, and we were immediately seated and handed menus. The entire restaurant had a chill vibe and it was quiet. They have a lunch menu where you can get a small salad, soup, rice and your main for $12.50. Not a bad deal! So I chose the pad Thai. If you want shrimp, they charge you an extra $2. It arrived quickly and piping hot, but it was a little too oily and a little heavy on the sugar. And there were only 3 shrimp. Oh well, I guess that's inflation for you. The soup was flavorful, though, so that was nice. For the price point, it was worth it. The service was lovely. The servers constantly refilled our water glasses and tended to us with smiles. We could tell that they wanted to make our visit pleasant - they were just so solicitous and accommodating. We'll definitely come back for the dinner service and try the other items on the menu. They had a lot of interesting offerings but they didn't have my favorite dish - papaya salad.

DELICIOUS Thai food! I came to La Verne to visit a friend who just moved here and we walked to Siamese Restaurant since it was closeby. Upon entering, I was extremely skeptical at first. The interior looks like the makings of a super Americanized Asian food restaurant (and being from 626, I have high standards for Asian food). I ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken and it was delightful. The noodles were perfectly chewy and the seasoning was flavorful and sweet. There was ample toppings like peanut, cabbage, carrots that created variety in textures and flavors. They also have pickled jalapenos, garlic chili sauce, chili powders, etc to spice up your meal. I also tried my friends Tom Yum soup and it was very flavorful and yummy! The waitresses are very friendly and check in frequently. They'll refill your water and make sure everyone has everything they need. Most meal options are under $15 and the serving size is pretty good! I think Siamese Restaurant is a great local gem that offers good value meals. There is lots of free parking in the parking lot (in a plaza). There are relatively clean restrooms (one men's and one women's).

Chicken salad with what is supposed to be the dressing

I'm giving three starts because the food is hit or miss you just have to know what to get. Today I paid over $13 for a house salad with chicken and it had very little chicken and I could not pour the dressing as the peanut whatever it is is not liquid form.

Sweet and sour chicken, very light, crispy, delicious!

My Daughter recommended this little hidden gem ; from the moment you enter their restaurant you feel welcome and happy and peaceful. My Daughter loved her pad Thai and the sweet and sour chicken was clean and tasty, It reminded me of tempura chicken, light and flavorful and clean. Our bowl of vegetable soup was also delicious. I can't wait to return! Highly recommend Siamese Restaurant.

This restaurant has a very homey atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive. The garlic vegetable is so flavorful and packed with a good variety of veggies. I also recommend the chow mien and hot and sour hot pot. The beer is no joke the coldest I've ever had at a restaurant. I will be visiting again!

Wonton soup. Delicious broth, fresh vegetables, tasty wontons.

Never had Thai food before. What would you recommend for first time visit?

A few of my co workers enjoy ginger fish, I'm not a sea food lover so I tend to get pad Thai, chicken bell pepper, spicy noodle, beef and broccoli! I've never ordered anything I didn't like.

Ocean House Fish Grill has an extensive menu and there is something for everyone. Battered Fish & Chips $18.95 Battered fish & chips served with fries and kaleslaw, dipped with tartar sauce. Cajun Grilled Shrimp (Taco) $4.25 Taco A La Carte I agree with others, as the food was a bit of a mixed bag. The Fish & Chips was a very popular dish where many tables had ordered at least one of them, but we found the batter to be a bit too thick and greasy. I tend to prefer my oily food not to be overly brown. However, the fish on the inside was perfect though, fresh and flaky! I loved the kaleslaw and might just order a side of that the next time I am here for to-go! The Branzino with Chili Sauce was not what I expected. I had expected spiciness, but it was a bit more on the sweet spicy side for me. There was either no A/C or it was not strong enough but they had a huge industrial fan on while we enjoyed our lunch. Service was very attentive and provided good customer service. The parking lot was a bit packed for a Friday afternoon, but we were both able to find parking near the restaurant. Overall, I would return but not when the 90+ degree weather since it could be really stuffy in there, and one does leave smelling like grease.

The server was really nice, introducing and recommending dishes to us. I don't know how authentic their Italian dishes are, but here are some dishes that stood out to me: Orrechiette (9.5/10): a bit on the oily side, but it tastes really good with the Italian sausage and broccolini. Ravioli (9/10): I didn't know you can put beef inside ravioli until today. I always thought ravioli is filled with cheese. Starter bread (9.7/10): It is crunchy and airy at the same time. It tastes exceptionally good with the salted butter they provide. It is also free and refillable Red beets salad (8.5/10): I actually don't know the real name. I just remember the red beets taste really good. Daily special seafood (9/10): Also a bit on the oily side but their ingredients are fresh. I really love their shrimps. Tiramisu (6/10): Not the best tiramisu I had because it is more liquid. The server says they never add rum to it. Prosciutto e Burrata (8/10): I was expecting more from this dish but it tastes pretty basic. Nothing special or impressive.

I would be willing to forgive these things were it not for the declining quality in customer service from the hostess. I have been knowing the hostess, maybe she's the manager/owner too since even before they moved. Many happy memories were had in the previous location and she also seemed in much better spirits back then. Food quality has gone down. The prices are reasonable, however. But you walk in and are asked if you have a reservation. If you say yes, much joy! If you say no, it's like you've created a major inconvenience for them. Myself and wife have sat in the little bench waiting to be seated and we can definitely tell that reservation guests get treated much nicer than walk-ins. My advice is do not walk-in, make a reservation if you want to try this place. The spark is gone and I don't know who's in charge now but there are other better, much more customer service oriented places, around La Verne.

I feel like the service used to be a lot better and now there just seems to be more staff turnover, so whenever I come every few months, there are always new faces, with the exception of the two managers/supervisors. The food is good and sushi always tastes fresh. They use a fairly minimal amount of rice on the nigiri, which is a plus, so I can eat more of the fish...hahaha! One of their best things is the baked mussels and to date, they are still at the top of the list compared to all other sushi spots I've been to (and there have been A LOT). They are almost always busy, (unless you come during odd hours between lunch and dinner) so be prepared for a wait. And if you do come during the busy hours, it can get a bit noisy in here, but I don't mind this at all; it just means everyone is enjoying themselves, and I'm all for people being out and socializing. (Get outta the house and off those phones!) Overall, a reliably good sushi spot, if you don't mind 'just okay' service.
