Stopped by for a Thursday night dinner. When we arrived the place was empty but got busy as we got through our meal. When ordering I noticed some items were not listed on the menu so make sure to ask the server if there is something you don't see & would like. The green tea was served in a large mug & had the tea bag. If you're looking for traditional tea this isn't the place for that.. My meal was good, I got the spicy tuna hand roll and the spicy tuna crunch roll. The crunch roll was really saucy so if you don't like sauce ask for it to be light. The hand roll was what I expected. The wasabi wasn't as kickin as I'd hoped for, also it was not the natural color green so I assumed its a paste with dye. The miso soup only had tofu, no seaweed but still good. We were all too full to order desert but the staff was kind in suggesting some options. read more

This isn't my first time coming here and won't be the last. When in area and in the mood for some pretty good sushi at a good price I think of this restaurant. The crowd favorites are the usual for me too. Baked mussels, spicy tuna rolls and the fukuya roll are worth trying. Come here to watch the game it just hang out with the sushi chef. We have been ordering delivery from fukuya sushi in La Verne for some time now. We ordered again tonight and once again it was very very good. There are so many great things about this restaurant, the prices which are reasonable. The dishes which are very well done, and the speed of delivery. The taste of the sushi is just very very good. We are never disappointed with our order and this is become our go-to place for sushi. I am disabled so we do not go out to eat a lot and depend on delivery. Even though we only live about a half a mile from fukuya, the delivery is still reasonably quick and efficient. All of these rules are great quality, and the negri sushi is so well done with large pieces of fish on the rice. Love this place and you will not be disappointed if you give it a try. read more

We ordered to go. Couple rolls and chirashi bowl. This time was worst than the last time we came here. Regret giving it another try. The fish was NOT fresh. Tasted weird and not edible. It was obviously not fresh. We end up throwing all of it away. Would not recommend this place. And I will never come back again. Service was ok. Ambiance can use a little more effort. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! It was so clean, lively and everyone was incredibly helpful. The staff was very polite, and I was greeted by everyone. We bought take out from this restaurant on Sunday June 30, 2024. The cashier was ok. I should have known to turn around and walk out the door because the only people in there were the workers. We ordered three rolls. Each looked different on the photo than what we received... I mean, really different. It looked as if the fish was a week old, and it had absolutely no taste. I wish I would have taken it back, but we ate it anyway and we're sick because of it. I don't recommend this place because the food is not even partially fresh. Save money and go somewhere else! read more

Bones in the sashimi. Nothing was fresh. Scallops used were pea sized frozen scallops. Spicy tuna roll had cooked tuna w/ no spice. The beef was blander than dirt. The rolls were drenched in sauce and falling apart. The waitress was super nice though, she should definitely go to a better restaurant for work. Only come here if you've never had sushi because 7/11 sushi would probably be better. read more

This is white people sushi, if that's not ur thing skip it. I got the 2 for 15.99, the Cali roll was good - standard flavor. The baked green mussels were kinda flavorless, but fresh and I appreciate that. Loraine gave great service, fast and friendly. The only reason I really gave this place 4 stars was because the dynamite bowl with mushrooms was not good at all. I say stick to the white people classics when you come here. read more

The place smelled very fishy.. Already the first red flag. Ordered a sashimi set, and the fish didn't seem fresh or of decent quality. Cuts of fish like that should not be watery or icy. The texture of the tuna didn't look that appetizing; the color looked so bad. The service was decent. Great service, excellent food quality. Quaint relaxing location. Enough menu selection to have you come back to try the rest if their signature rolls. I had the Baked Alasken and the Golden Tiger and the wife had the Flamingo and the California Roll w/mango. Delicious! The strawberry mochi ice cream was a nice treat. If your looking for even decent sushi I'm sorry but you will not find it here. I ordered the dynamite roll and it was overloaded with mayo and scallops but not in a good way. I literally had to take it all off the top because it was just overpowering and I wouldn't have tasted any of the actual sushi. It was very oily for some reason and overall bland. Only good thing I had here is their green tea ice cream. This isn't the first time I've came here and am still disappointed. I can tell they rush making your food which shows because it was plated very sloppy. read more

BEWARE OF PRICING! Ordered over the phone based on posted menus, prices are double and triple once you get there to pick up your food and none of the fish was fresh. Paid $67 for 3 rolls and edamame. Definitely could have went to ayce or a nicer place like ONI Sushi in claremont or something. Definitely pass, they scam you not updating prices and she was aware when I went in my shock saying oh yea everyone mentions the price's difference. Then do something about it, and don't trick people to come in. Won't be back. read more

Compared to all the other sushi places I have been to, this probably the smallest and quietest little spot I have gone to. It has very local feeling to it. Service was very nice and personal. I tried the sashimi platter and I enjoyed it. Albacore was perfect. I usually never order albacore but I enjoyed the albacore more than my personal favorite which is yellow tail. We also had the baked scallops with mushroom along with a crunch roll. Crunch roll was sweet and the scallops were cooked perfectly. I will definitely be coming again read more

Wow what an amazing place to go eat with our family. My daughter turned 11 and asked to go out to eat sushi for her birthday so I looked on Yelp and found this amazing place. They went above and beyond and brought my daughter a dessert and sang happy birthday to her... We were not expecting that at all and it was a great surprise. Sushi was fresh and delicious and the ambiance was chill and very welcoming. We will be coming back and bring friends and family! If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. The food was pretty good, but it took an hour to receive a simple order of gyoza. Then it took about 30 more minutes to get my tempura. After my meal I was planning on getting nice dessert but all of the places were closed because this took so long. Overall this was terrible service and my worst experience at this location. I have been here multiple times thinking that I would have a better experience but it has never happened. It is so small I feel so cramped, when there are other people there. Every time I come here I order edamame and of the four times I have been here I have still never received my order. Be sure to check your receipt before you leave because they never seem to charge me the right amount. read more
