Not completely sold yet, but being just 3 blocks from my new house, I'm sure I'll have some more taste-testing soon. I ordered online and went to pickup a bit after the 30 minutes they quoted. Unfortunately, the food still wasn't ready. After waiting another 20 minutes, it came out. Maybe they were just busy, but I really don't like waiting and much rather would have been told the realistic estimate and shown up then. We had two pizzas, both were the whole wheat crust. One had artichoke and feta, the other mushrooms and caramelized onions. The toppings were definitely good. But what was lacking was the solidity of the crust. It was just too soggy/ flimsy. After putting some in the fridge and eating the next day for lunch, the crust seemed to hold up better. Next time, I think I'll try the original crust, not the whole wheat and see if it makes a difference. I am curious about the large list of toppings and sauce combinations here. Delivery was very quick! Only took about 30 minutes. I ordered spaghetti with Mariana sauce and meatballs and asked for the typical pizza place parmesan cheese as I did not enjoy the melted mozzarella on my pasta but I still received the melted cheese even though I specifically said I did not want it. Maybe it's a DC thing to use that type of cheese? Overall, the pasta was delicious even with the melted cheese and the meatballs were juicy. The Mariana sauce was a little too sweet for my liking but it was a good meal overall. Also the order came with a slice of pizza (white pizza) instead of the typical garlic bread/rolls. Solid. Especially compared to what you can get in Capitol Hill in terms of pizza delivery. We opted for the typical tomato sauce (will get crazy next time with the RRP) on the Supremo, no olives. They followed those instructions perfectly well, which is certainly not a given with delivery from anywhere. The sauce was a little on the sweet side, but that good just be my poor, ill taste buds talking. The pizza was not exactly hot on arrival, but warm, and the crust (traditional, I suppose) a nice, chewy but not-to-dense mouthful. None of that [soggy] cracker business I get from Dominoe's. The wings -- BBQ-style, I think -- were also quite tasty and arrived with blue cheese, as requested. Next time I'll see whether they might be willing to limit the selection to wings only, no drumsticks, as I found the wings to be a good deal juicier. You would think we live in Siberia, however, as seriously any place we order delivery from takes at least an hour, minimum, mind you, to arrive at our doorstep. Even our all-time, hands-down favorite places, so I'm not going to *really* count this again Sicilian ... but it took about 1 hour 20 minutes (actually, I think a big longer), for our food to arrive. My husband finally gave them a ring and they said it'd be delivered within 10 minutes, no other updates or apologies. I suppose I should be happy they DO deliver to our house. They were right - the delivery guy showed up about 2 minutes later. Very polite. I think you can get free breadsticks when you order online but you have to be sure to select that offer, which my hubs didn't. So, give that a try. read more

We were walking by one night and figured why not. It is tiiiiiny inside (room for four people packed in), so.clearly delivery is more their style. Still, we ordered a few slices and ate away at the little counter. The pizza was pretty good but unmemorable. Definitely will get the job done after a night of drinking, though. The worst delivery service I've received, the blandest food I've ever consumed. Wait 80 minutes for it to get to my door - despite the continued promises of the guy at the restaurant claiming it was "five minutes away." It arrives. The buffalo chicken tenders: Strips of baked Perdue chicken cutlet with a small side container of Frank's Red Hot Sauce. No breading, no flavoring. I had all the fixings in my fridge. Would have taken me ten minutes. The Margherita pizza: A flat undercooked circle of bread with a small amount of cheese, one skeleton of a tomato slice per slice, and lots of basil which managed to still add no flavor. No rosemary or spice. No taste. No nothing. It was like eating soft thin toast. Pathetic. Total buzzkill experience and took all the fun out of the festive movie/pizza night I was hosting. We were all pretty mad. Well, not all of us: My dog ended up eating the chicken "tenders" and she was pretty happy with that. I've never been inside the place, but the delivery has always been fast. The pizza is excellent, one of the best in capitol hill and maybe top 5 in DC. I would stay away from any pasta dishes. yum!!! I ordered a salad and the chicken tenders tonight. I'm very picky with salad and don't like it unless it's very fresh. The greens were very fresh and not at all soggy or old. I had the grilled chicken salad (without tomato and bell pepper) and it had lots of onions (huge onion rings) and a ton of chicken. The salad dressing was tasty and plenty. I also ordered the chicken tenders. It says it's 8 pieces though I got 3 round patties of chicken that are bigger than my hand. I tried a little piece of it, as the salad was enough for a full meal. It's definitely real chicken and it's juicy and tastes good. I'm looking forward to having it for lunch tomorrow. Delivery took about 50 min, which is pretty standard. At work and starving because I left my lunch at home in the fridge UGH!,...so i decided to order Sicilian pizza and man oh man this pizza was oh so good. I got the one large two topping pizza w/10 wings and a 2liter special. My toppings were spinach, pineapples and Italian sausage. pizza was great wings even greater and I am extremely satisfied. Going downhill fast Have been longtime fans and loyal customers. Order from them at least twice a month. But last week we got a pizza that looked like it had been carelessly thrown together--lots of bald spots with no cheese, some with piles of it. Then this week they lost our order. We waited 90 minutes, got assurances it was on the way. But turns out they'd lost it and never got it started. Then they refused to expedite the replacement--telling us that it would be an additional 45 minutes to an hour. The person I spoke with made clear that she really didn't care that I was a regular customer or that this was their mistake. "We're really busy. Nothing we can do." After a sad and soggy thin crust pizza, I received a very apologetic email from Dita (One of the managers/owners) asking that we give them another try! Well of course, the pizzeria is so close to us, that we can't say "no". I ordered a regular crust this time, due to fears of the thin crust.. and it was perfect, nice and chewy, the crust held up well against the heavy cheese and pepperoni toppings. Tasted just like their "single slice"-- which are double slices. I also suggest picking up if you can, I think that makes a big difference whether you get your pizza right out of the oven, or 30 mins after. Also FREE, breadsticks if you order online! Their breadsticks are awesome, topped with plenty of cheese and garlic powder. We saved them for breakfast the next day and they were just as yummy and chewing inside. Its NFL playoff time and I had a few people over to watch the games. Needing some grub, nearby Papa John's is something I don't like to think about. And this time, I wanted something other than Wise Guy's (even though they're my favorite). So I went to Seamless.com and came across Sicilian Pizza. Reviews on Seamless were good so I decided to give them a shot. Using the Seamless app, I ordered two Meat Classics (Tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, bacon, ham, and Italian sausage), one BBQ Chicken (BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese, grilled chicken, red onion, cheddar cheese) and one Sicilian (Light tomato sauce, prosciutto, ham, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, kalamata olives, drizzled with olive oil...and served in square shape). The pies were delivered hot and fresh within the Seamless advertised timeframe of approximately 45 minutes, which is reasonable considering my location is Mt. Vernon Triangle and Sicilian's is just east of Gallaudet University. Everyone was very impressed with the quality of the ingredients and the taste of the pies. It was indeed delicious. I didn't have the BBQ chicken slices but I can personally vouch for the Meat Classics and the Sicilian pies. Crust was about the density you would find at Papa John's but seemed to have a better taste (Maybe I'm biased against Papa's). The Italian Sausage on the Meat Classics came in the shape of small meat balls and was very tasty. Ham on both the Sicilian and Meat Classics came in thick slices chopped up into small bites. Sauce on these two pies was delicious with just a hint of spiciness. Visiting the website, I found that there is a pretty extensive menu at Sicilian. In addition to gourmet and traditional pies, there are also calzone's, paninis, pastas, wings and other appetizers, as well as salads and desserts. In all, everyone loved these pies. And...finally, I can fully rid myself of Mr. John's completely; which means that anytime I want something other than thin NY style slices, I will be calling Sicilians. read more

The first several times I had Sicilian I was pleased with the pizza, calzones, and salad. Initially skeptical after receiving a flyer in the mail and its dodgy location, but pleasantly surprised and happy. The online ordering system needs tweaking. We didn't receive a confirmation email until about 5 minutes before the order arrived so had to call to confirm. It all worked out fine. The wings were very delicious, asked them to be well done and they had an awesome, crisp glaze on them. They were meaty and tender. Also ordered a small spinach salad that came with lots of kalamata olives and red onions and a good balsamic vinaigrette, and plenty of fresh spinach. We also ordered a thin crust Margarita pizza that was very tasty with fresh tomatoes and basil. It was all good, delivered quickly, and just a nice change from the chains. After years of ordering tonight was the end. After being told a simple order (one calzone, 20 wings and chicken tenders) would take 45-60 minutes I called after 70 minutes and was told a mistake was made with the order. Fine. After 20 more minutes the driver arrived and when we asked him to call for some kind of compensation for the lateness, he drove away confused. Calls to the store were busy signals. Lots of he said she said with the order taker on the phone resulted in me throwing my hands up canceling altogether and saying never again. Terrible customer service. Let people know what the problem is, offer to do the right thing. Do not complain that you're busy and constantly keep people on hold. It's a shame because the food is tasty. read more

That having been said, with the delivery fee and tip, I spent $21 on a very small pizza that tastes like upscale DiGiorno's. So, I went to visit a friend who lives WAY over in Eastern Market, and saw a menu for this place on her fridge. "Man, you drive all the way over there for their food?" "Uh...no, have you ever heard of delivery?" "They deliver here?" "Yeah, of course...they're only like 2 miles away! They deliver to you, too...you're super close to them!" "Uh...no, they STOPPED delivering to me. They claimed I was too far away!" "That's insane! You're HALF the distance from them that I am!" Actually, I'm LESS than half the distance. So we did a little digging. Given the right address, their Slice website presence says they'll deliver up to 2.5 miles away. But given the WRONG address, even 3/4 of a mile is "too far." Digging a little further, there are a few reviews on Grubhub (which requires just a distance, not specific neighborhoods...Grubhub says they'll still deliver to me, natch) where people say it was offered, but cancelled or just not even delivered. Clearly, someone decided that they just shouldn't deliver to "certain" neighborhoods. What a good look. I've ordered from them about eight times in different combinations the meat classic with the addition of roasted garlic is my favorite. They've only messed up one time and during that time I ordered from them during work and it was raining. I was trying to introduce my coworkers to them and the first time it fell miserably but the second time they did a really great job everyone loved it. The pizzas were so hot and fresh. My manager purchased a veggie pizza, a margarita pizza and my favorite meat classic with roasted garlic. The pizzas were all so good cheesy, fresh veggies and the meat was right on time. I had to stop ordering from them because their pizza is kind of addictive and yes the pizza's do look like the picture. They ask me what I ordered and said it would be free of charge and expedited. (I think it also says something that they didn't know what I ordered). 11:30pm: Pizza still has not arrived. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's shockingly close to the gold standard of pizza, which is pizza from the NY/NJ area. As someone from the tristate area, I was shocked at the high quality of the pizza! Thin crust, delicately balanced sauce and cheese, and all the traditional toppings available. You would miss it if you were walking down the street, but this has been the best ny style pizza in DC for me. The owner is friendly and service is always timely, if I had a knock on it I would say that the other food beyond the pizza is pedestrian.
