I feeeeeeeeeeeeeel like this is a neighborhood staple for a reason and must be enjoyed fresh. We ordered from Uber (BOGO) and it's further away than anticipated. We also ordered during rush hour because we're a pair of idiots. Anywho, let's get to the pizza. Great crust, delicious sauce, tasty cheese. It's what you'd expect from a neighborhood pizzeria. We also ordered some spanakopita that had crushed garlic all over it. Not sure why but my friend loved it. Would I order again? Only if I were in DC. Note: This is a delivery review only. I wasn't expecting too much because, well, it's a pizza delivery place. But Sicilian Pizza pleasantly surprised me. I ordered a custom calzone (I like that they offer those) with provolone, meatballs, and sun-dried tomatoes. The app gave an estimate of about 45 minutes delivery time, and the driver arrived five minutes early. The calzone was hot and clearly had just come out of the oven before being brought over. Already, that was earning them brownie points. I enjoyed the calzone itself, which was a nice size and wasn't too greasy--a common sin of cheap calzones (read: Sbarro's in any mall anywhere). The little marinara sauce was also good, although I had to ration the container since it was small. Next time, I'll have to do one of their select-a-topping pizzas! read more

I wanted to give sicilian pizza a high rating, due to their quick service on a Friday night. It took approximately 20 minutes for the delivery man to arrive in front of my apartment. The pizza came out piping hot (which is what I LOVE), so kudos! The pepperoni pizza was good. The only thing that I would make note of is the tomato sauce - it was a little too sweet for my savory tastebuds. However, for the price, you can't really beat it (since it seems like food is just generally expensive in DC). Ordered from here for a Sunday afternoon pizza craving. Kind of selected this place at random and we got soooo lucky! The pizza was fantastic. I like pizza with a good amount of sauce and when I order extra cheese I am always disappointed at the amount of cheese, but not here! There was probably a half inch of cheese on this delicious pie and they didn't skimp on the sauce either. I ordered the cheese pizza and added ricotta, mozzarella and provolone extra. It was exactly what we were craving. We ordered mozzarella sticks also, which wasn't the greatest idea, because by the time they got to us they were not crispy at all, but I think that's just how it goes with delivery. Pizza arrived after 35 min or so, hot and looking delicious. On my 3rd slice I bit into something hard almost breaking my tooth. I was back closing of an earring!!! Sicilian pizza is one of the best pizza I had in DC for the following reasons: 1. Taste: We usually get the two topping pizza with extra cheese. According to my roommates when they first order from there, the quality of the pizza is tolerable but the more we order from there the quality increases by a million. It actually tastes amazing now. 2. Service: We never use their delivery service since we live right down the block. They often make the wrong order.....but if they do, they always make us a new one. Tough to pick a rating for Sicilian Pizza. On one hand, it's my neighborhood spot, always there for me when I want a panini in a pinch. I also recently learned that their cannoli rivals that of Isgro, which is no small feat. But... on the other hand, the panini can be inconsistent, the pizza sometimes rubbery, and the wings disappointing. It's not as wildly different as NY Pizza (Penn Ave SE), but it's just not always great. What it is good for is the pizza, and actually now that I think about it, the calzones are really good, too. The panini are okay, sometimes they are great (especially when you aren't feeling pizza), but sometimes they use different ingredients (like, dude, I know that prosciutto looks/tastes like... this is straight ham), which can make it inconsistent. Sometimes they throw in a free, individually-wrapped slice of cheese pizza. We haven't been able to figure out what the common factor is there, but it's always a welcome surprise. Definitely a worthwhile pizza spot in the area, better than the others near H St. Treat yourself and get the cannoli, too. It's even better with coffee the next morning! read more

So I live in NoMa and stopped by the other day to check it out. This pizza was good, nothing spectacular but def good for a local spot. Grabbed a menu for the next time. Now heres where I have an issue, the menu has a list of coupons in it. I called to place an order and was told they don't honor their own coupons. I wasn't met wit an apology but yet annoyance as though me wanting to use the VALID COUPON THEY LISTED was a problem! The young lady on the phone said she told the manager however doesn't tell the customers. Nor did they remove the coupons. For me its the principle. They could've removed the coupons or jus honored it since it was their fault! It sucks because I wanted to support this spot but nope not now! read more

Let me start by saying I don't review things, ever. Let me put this in perspective. I had a $5 coupon through Slice from ordering from Pizzaiole, (which has been great), recently. I am a sucker for Salami and hot peppers and saw that Sicilian offered a Salami option. I opted for a one topping deal and got Salami only, knowing I had banana and jalepeno peppers at home. Including tip I luckily only paid $15. I received the box - luke warm as expected from most deliveries - and brought it inside to add the other toppings. When I opened the box it actually smelled rotten. The Salami was thick cut and baked into/under the cheese and was essentially chewy. I pulled a few pieces out and they were grayed and had a funky stench, which is what the photo shows. I managed to find a crisped piece that I tried, i couldn't have told you it was Salami if I hadn't ordered it. Despite the smell, (I'm hungry and paid $15 here guys), I removed visible Salami from a few slices and gave the pie a try only to taste nothing but the foul flavor of the smell now invading my house. The cheese was rubbery, the sauce was flat and the dough is that of a frozen pizza. Needless to say I can't believe the product coming out of a place with a 4.5+ rating on slice that dares to be named Sicilian. If you're a fan of this place at least do yourself a favor and don't ever venture for cured meats. A one rating to Sicilian simply because the delivery came only a few minutes outside of their estimated window. Hopefully I don't get sick. read more

It was tasty, the dough had a crunch without being paper-thin, and the artichoke slices were generous as were all the toppings. While waiting for the pizza the manager/owner asked if we would like to see it being made. We looked at a very clean and well-organized kitchen from the door. The first time I ordered from this place, it took them over an hour for delivery. The pizza arrived luke warm, but it was pretty good. The second time I ordered, it was a total disaster. I ordered online (very convenient w/Beyond Menu) but forgot to "save" toppings, so when a plain pizza arrived, I gave it back to the driver saying it was wrong. He was confused but said, "Ok, I'll be back in 20 mins with the right pizza." I called the store just to let them get started on making it and was told that the order they got was for a plain pizza- that's when I realized it must have been on me. With a houseful of family, I botched dinner! Sicilian Pizza called back- we're sending you a new pizza with the toppings you wanted, no charge (I'd already paid for the plain one), and 20 minutes later Thanksgiving is saved! This place isn't very good. It should be obvious: when a restaurant needs to advertise and offer "special deals" so much...they're trying to make up for something that's lacking. We ordered online which seemed like a nice convenience. Apparently they are linked to several other websites that you actually end up purchasing your meal through so the offer of getting free bread sticks with your order doesn't actually apply (despite the fact that there's no small print saying it only applies to their *official* website). When we got to the shop to pick up our order it was wrong. We had to wait for them to make it properly. Too bad with that extra time they couldn't have made a good tasting pizza. It was a very generic, cardboard-ish pizza, nothing memorable. They also ran our credit card again before we left despite the fact that we'd put in the info online. We were charged twice and had to point it out to them to be credited. Just one more hassle and who knows where into the interwebs and that other website our credit card info went. Two forgettable pizzas and a 2L of soda for $35 isn't a deal. Factor in the taste and the headache of the website and service and they should pay you for it. You can get better tasting and quality pizza from any of the major chains around here, not to mention good mom and pop places like Wise Guys. read more

This is the worst pizza I have ever eaten. And just to be clear, I mean that Sicilian Pizza's pizza is worse than pizza that comes from gas stations. At least shitty greaselump pizza tastes like something. This whole fucking pizza could have been made out of different textured tofus for all the flavor it had. The sauce seems to be nothing more than a tomato that someone squeezed above the crust. The meats were all unholy vacuums of non-flavor. Delivery was very quick! Only took about 30 minutes. I ordered spaghetti with Mariana sauce and meatballs and asked for the typical pizza place parmesan cheese as I did not enjoy the melted mozzarella on my pasta but I still received the melted cheese even though I specifically said I did not want it. Maybe it's a DC thing to use that type of cheese? Overall, the pasta was delicious even with the melted cheese and the meatballs were juicy. The Mariana sauce was a little too sweet for my liking but it was a good meal overall. Also the order came with a slice of pizza (white pizza) instead of the typical garlic bread/rolls.
