Awesome spot for great craft beer and cocktails! !! Great service and Great Staff!!!!

Chill spot. I've wanted to come here for a while but you know how that goes. Stopped by on a Sunday evening and it was pretty quiet. Free pool on sundays. Cool place to grab a brew and play a few adult arcade games. It was clean inside and sounds like a lot of people cruise thru late night. Definitely coming back. Stayed across the street at an air bnb with friends. This bar was our go to every day/night while we were in town!! So fun. Bartenders (shout out to Chase and Jesse) are super cool and helped us decide where the best spots in San Diego were! Locals were also very friendly and helpful. They have basketball, foosball, pool table, pin ball machines. Really fun spot! And not to mention some of the best tacos We've ever had are right outside on a wood fired grill mmm! What a transformation from when this place was the griffin. They have one entrance so it's not confusing which is the main door. They have comfy booths and many games to play (i.e. Jenga, basketball, skee ball, pack man and more). Had an easygoing feel and bartenders who are attentive. They also have a food truck that parks out front if you want food. Parking is easy to find and they also have that lot out back. Reminds me of another bar at north park, coin op. Play, eat, drink and enjoy. Nice. read more

They did it again, opened a bar with staff that knows how to treat their guests and a beer and cocktail list to satisfy any palate. I'm so late to review but these guys were SO accommodating for my husbands birthday! They extended HH prices for us, went to great lengths to arrange a food truck, and had the best vibes through the whole process! We stored the cake in their fridge, and we got lucky to have the party on Thursday, because there was live music! Jazz/blues/rock by Shane Hall, who was phenomenal - singing Black Keys, what?! One of my favorite dive(ish) bars. There's plenty of room, which is nice. They also have a great assortment of games and entertainment.

I really want to give it 3.5 stars. This is a sister to the Regal Beagle, so if you've been there you'll know how the bar feels and looks. The difference is this one is far roomier and has some fun games like skee-ball (which wasn't working) NBA Jam, Basketball hoops, etc. About a dozen craft beer son tap and good selection of San Diego and northern California favorites like Drakes. They have a craft cocktail menu. Beer ranged from $5-$7 and cocktails were from $6-$9. They only serve food from Thursday to Saturday and it is a Beagle burger and bag of chips for $8, but the burger is good. I'd definitely come back. Plenty of paring in back and in the lower Bay Park area. Not the nicest place in town, but the High Dive and is close by for a decent 1-2 laid back punch. read more

I went here last night and had a great time. A little too much fun to a point I Left behind my purse with my life in it (car keys, house keys, cash, credit cards, debt cards, ID and more. ...) I called and found out they had my purse, I rushed over expecting not to have any cards or cash in it. But to my surprise ALL of the contents in my purse including the cash was in my purse! I dont know if employees found it or maybe someone turned it in. ..but the fact that they kept my purse safe for me is enough for me! SUPER LEGIT PLACE. THANK YOU!!!! This is a great place to hang out with friends and have a drink. Bartenders are super friendly and helpful. Introduced me to Habaneros vodka in my Greyhounds...I'm hooked! Dog friendly, customer friendly, excellent well-made drinks..who could ask for more? Good job Sidecar! read more

I went in here not too long ago and ordered a nice beer and a Moscow Mule. They have some really good drinks and the bartenders I have talked to there are all really nice. To be honest this place has really good potential and I wish more people knew about it. Its kind of in a slow area (in my opinion) so its hard to get noticed. But I will for sure keep coming here since its right down the street from my place. Now im gonna go tell all of my friends about this place! Oh and also, this place has really good parking. This place is awesome! Same owners as The Regal Beagle (which is also awesome, BTW) but a different feeling than the other two Regal bars. They did a great job with the remodel and the crew here is doing a great job getting this place off the ground. Definitely worth checking out. Have some drinks, play some games, then wander down the street for some grub. No food, but apparently they regularly have food trucks outside, I just haven't been there at the right time I suppose. Could use some better spots to lock up bicycles outside. read more

Are you kidding me? This place is great. Live music on Thursday and some better than average craft beers. The dart board is not available during the live music but it is a steel tip dart board which is getting harder find. Just divey enough to be great. read more

I used to come here when it was the Griffin. I liked the venue for live bands and that it was super close to home. With the new bar and renovation I was pleased to see how well it cleaned up. A little more upscale and fancy. I was disappointed that the games were a little expensive. It is rad that they brought back old school games like street fighter and galaga but there really is no prize for having the highest score, so why fork over a bunch of money for an old game? Maybe add a free drink or something...Like the vibe, staff was friendly. Drinks a little pricy, but they have a good selection of beers. I would definitely love to see more live bands there read more

Well it may have a gritty vibe and appearance but a good time can still be had. Stopped in for happy hour with some friends I enjoyed the mule and the other drink specials that were available. Bar games going on in the other room didnt look to interesting. Overall could use a cleaning not sure I want to return until that happens. read more

This was one of the most random divey bars I have been to in a long time, and I loved it!! My group of friends and I came here after we were being too noisy for a house party and were looking for something close to my friends apartment. The parking situation is a bit limited out front of the bar, but luckily we found a spot in the slightly larger parking lot behind the bar. My only complaint is the noise level, the music was fun, but SO loud, I was literally screaming at the top of my lungs at my friends, but part of the issue was that we had sat at the only table that would fit our entire group... right under the speaker. The bar was fun, there were random games (board and things like pac man floating around), drinks were fun and super alcoholic, and my friend even ordered some chili like food that came in an empty fritos bag.... SO RANDOM! But so fun! I would definitely return although it is a bit out of the beaten path... read more

Worst service ever. I asked for a cider, A CIDER and they took over 20 minutes when there was barely 5 people in line. I can't believe that after I pointed out that we asked for 1 cider they made it a complete ridiculous scene that i needed to show my id which I didn't have a problem with but I literally didn't want anything after that and left. Decided to come here with my boyfriend for my 21st birthday at midnight last night. I am not a local here in San Diego so it took me some yelping to find this place. We arrived there and the ambience of the place is nice. Lots of arcade games to choose from, pool tables, and a popcorn machine. :) we sat down at the bar & we totally felt welcomed by Blake, the bartender. We also had a conversation with a woman with short hair who I believe is the owner. Had a few rounds and enjoyed it. I had the jamaica roska I believe. Not sure if that's the name of the drink but it has Jamaica in it lol. Will be coming back on my next trip to san diego! read more
