The food is good. It is the only Italian restaurant in the immediate area. If you're in the mood for Italian food, Sidelines will not disappoint you. However, If you like to enjoy a cocktail with your dinner, this is NOT the place to go. We've been there a few times with 6-10 people in our group. Everyone complains about the drinks every time. Considering that it is otherwise a nice restaurant, it seems that they would hire a skilled bartender or two. If I am not in the mood for a drink with dinner, Sidelines is a top contender. read more

Just had a wonderful dinner here. The potato pancetta chowder was creamy and wonderful, the chopped salad one of the best I ever had and the pasta Rustico was delicious. And of course starting the dinner with sangria was just perfect. Our server, Taylor, was also delightful. read more

Venturing out to try new restaurants and Sideline's Italian was tonight's stop! No one in our group was disappointed! Our waitress was wonderful! The food was flavorful! The complimentary bread and oil was OMG delicious! Everything was served nice and hot and tasted very fresh. I have 2 children and I absolutely appreciate the paper on the tables that the kiddos can color on. (My daughter was thrilled too!) The restaurant has a great family-friendly feel, but also feels intimate enough that I'd come back for a date night with my husband. Definitely a great choice and we will definitely be returning & recommending to our friends and family. :) read more

I cannot deny the food is delicious but the servings are tiny. We tried it twice thinking maybe the first time was a fluke but were disappointed both times. We got the dinner for 4 because there are 4 of us. (2 of them being 1 and 3 so not big eaters) There was barely enough for the 2 of us and neither of us are large people or large eaters. I hope maybe they change this, I would be willing to go back but I cannot see paying $50 for 4 people and leaving hungry if they don't. read more

First time visit. Used to be a Pizza Hut, now it is a quaint Italian bistro. Service was very friendly. Menu was just the right size (# of options) with a decent variety. They have plenty of specials. My meal was great. Fettuccine Bolognese. If you're looking for high end or super authentic, you'll be disappointed. Great little Italian restaurant not too far from my house. Waitress was pleasant, served us properly without "over serving" our table. I'd say there was about 8 or 9 other patrons at the restaurant, so the food came out in an orderly fashion. Can't say what the service was like when they first opened....probably crappy I would imagine seeing how Toledoans like to pack in new restaurants. Came with the family for a birthday dinner. I ordered the lobster mac'n cheese which was super rich, but very good. Like a thick lobster bisque with noodles. Sounds weird, but again was top notch! Bread and oil is served beforehand so that was an added bonus for the restaurant goers. Get a free appetizer! Overall for once being a Pizza Hut, this restaurant is a notch above the rest. If you want rowdy people, cheap chicken wings, large TVs and rude talking waitresses...look down the road to Sidelines Bar. If you want a quiet atmosphere bubbling with ambiance, menus made from Samsung tablets (yeah, totally cool!) and good Italian food...then come here! read more

We stopped in for dinner the other night...I have to say again this place is very good...only thing is...they charge you two dollars to get a salad or soup with pasta dishes...I just find that a little odd lol. But on the bright side...they do NOT charge you to use a credit card. Still one of my favorite Italian spot to eat. What I wish they add to their menu is...Linguini with red clam sauce!!! read more

Wow! Our first trip to Sidelines Italian Grille. Definitely will not be our last. Started meal with chopped salad and chicken gnocchi soup. Excellent! Bread was to die for! Probably the worse Margherita pizza I have ever had in my life. It was a sad attempt of a Flatbread Margherita and not even a real pizza. Bland tasting sauce and thr slices of real mozzarella weren't even cooked enough to take a bite out of. read more

Last Saturday afternoon my friend & I went to this restaurant for lunch. We were greeted by Jessica our waitress with a friendly greeting & great service. During the course of our casual lunch- having some wine, the meatball appetizer, and two different entrees - we were "checked on" but never rushed to order. First we were made to feel stupid and look stupid when we announced we had a coupon that had misleading advertising on it. Second when waitress asked if we wanted to order we both said yes and her hands were full so she walked away and closed out another table and sat two other tables and took their drink orders and then she came back and said she was sorry but she was waiting for our appetizer to come to get our orders we didn't order an appetizer.. Third, i asked twice for a booster when we first got there.. we finally got bread at the same time as the other two tables were getting their soup and salads.. finally I asked again for a booster when our pizza came.. we also ordered lobster artichoke dip and chicken carbanara.. the pita was not charred but burnt to a crisp on one side that it was hard when it cooled. The dip was sooooo piping hot that the rest of our food was gone before we could even touch it. This restaurant is passable as a restaurant. You will get decent food. Not great food, but not bad either. The trouble is, there are better choices. I want to like it.. I really do. We like Sidelines, which is glorified bar food, but it is really good glorified bar food. Sidelines Italian isn't really good Italian food.. it needs work. Quality is low, service is maybe slightly better.. mediocre in a crowded market is not a formula for success. read more

Very tasty Italian grille, apparently owned by the same owners of Sidelines Bar & Grill locations around the Toledo area. They serve a complimentary warm bread with herb infused oil. The bread is super soft with a nice crust and the oil is delicious. I had the fettuccine Bolognese, which was very meaty and flavorful. For desert, tried a lemon mascarpone cake, OMG! Was there Saturday, 3:30pm the place was empty. Should of been our first clue. Went with my father and mother, we ordered the Caprese chicken, chicken parmesan and brushetta with the gnocchi soup. First up Caprese chicken, who doesn't season chicken before grilling? They don't, was so bland and the mozzarella cheese had absolutely no flavor. Brushetta was totally soaked, nothing crispy and tomato mixture completely tasteless. Soup tasted as if it came out of can. Chicken parmesan was so subpar so lifeless, how can you not make a good chicken parmesan at an Italian restaurant? The only thing that was good was the complimentary bread. Let start off this review by focusing on atmosphere (or lack there of) and first impressions upon being seated. FIRST IMPRESSION The dining room is hardly differentiated from the Pizza Hut this restaurant obviously used to be (still sporting the terra cotta tile from years ago). Color and decor is scarce and honestly a weak attempt at making it feel rustic. Dinning area is open and loud with no privacy whatsoever. There is this crappy brown butcher paper on every booth table that hangs in your lap and generally looks like crap. It is probably another weak attempt to preserve the vinyl top on the particle board table. Server was good and walked us through his favorite dishes. THE FOOD Bread is just white bread baked into a ciabatta or rustic loaf shape. Brushed with garlic butter and Parmesan. Served with a decently flavorful oil. We got a caprese salad as appetizer. Fresh mozzarella wasn't the best but only complaint other than that was raw shallots on top. Why? Entrees are where things really got bad. My wife got salmon and it came out well done. It was chewy and charred and definitely farm raised. It was also a very thin tail piece and most likely frozen. I wanted to send it back but she didn't want to wait. Not the quality or preparation we expected at 18 dollars. I asked how her veggies were and she said "frozen". The vegetables tasted just like pict fresh steamables and I am wondering if the restaurant just sources their food directly from the Kroger down the street. Waiter admitted they were steamed in the bag. Not to mention the menu had fresh green beans and not this crappy medley. Red skin mash were okay. I ordered the grilled scallops which were actually pretty well prepared. They are the sole reason why I gave this restaurant a star at all. Other than the pointless uncooked panko they put on top of the finished scallops they were enjoyable. Had a nice butter sauce under them. Probably would have been better pan seared or broiled with a crispy panko topping or none at all. I was amazed the same grill cook could cook scallops like that but completely ruin a piece of salmon. I remarked to my wife that we should've just got basic stuff like pasta or pizza. When a pasta went to the table next to us my wife wondered how they could have so much steam coming off of them. Suspect they microwave quite a bit there. My herb linguini was horrible and tasted just like some egg noodles that would be made as a side to pork chops at home. No fresh herbs I would assume. All in all I would definitely rather take my money elsewhere or just cook at home then ever go back. We left feeling cheated out of a good chunk of change (place is as expensive as ciao,Mancys italian, or lescola). No where close to the atmosphere, service, or food quality at any of those places. read more

We have been here 3 times, each time getting a bit worse, culminating in our last visit (which will be our last visit) which was on August 15, 2016. The restaurant was not crowded at all. Maybe 4 tables had patrons. The waitress started out okay and was friendly, but when things went a little south, she had a hard time dealing with it. First, the service was S-L-O-W. We ordered a couple of drinks, a salad and a flatbread pizza (their specialty). Our first drinks were brought out in a timely fashion. The salads took about 20 minutes to come out. We had to go to the bar to order our second drinks because the waitress did not check back really. After she eventually did check in, and ask how things were, I mentioned they seemed pretty slow for having only ordered a pizza. She said "it was coming soon". When the pizza (chicken flatbread) finally arrived, it appeared to be drenched in ranch. This seemed strange, since the 2 times we had ordered this item before, there was no extra sauce on top of it. We double checked the menu, and indeed it does come "drizzled in peppercorn sauce". Well, it was not drizzled, it was drenched. When the waitress returned, we told her that the sauce was too much. She did ask if we wanted one without the sauce, "but it would be a wait". Huh? There were only 3 tables that had customers. Regardless, we were not interested in waiting another 20+ minutes for that pizza. She did not ask if we wanted to order anything else, she simply said "I will take it off the bill". And then she walked away. In about 2 minutes, she returned with our bill. I guess she wanted us out as bad as we wanted to leave. I am not sure why, considering we would have ordered something else, and she had every opportunity to make us feel better about the experience. No dice. So anyway, it looks like Lambertville loses again. The choices in Bedford are limited and weak. It pains me to say that if you are looking for a decent meal with good service, take your money to Toledo or Sylvania. read more

My wife and I have dined at Sidelines Italian Grill several times, just the 2 of us and with other couples. I have to be honest and say this establishment is simply amazing. Its my new favorite Italian restaurant in the area. Everything we have tried on the menu is delicious. Last time I had the lasagna, the portion was enough for 2 people and delicious. My wife loves the calamari. The other couples couldn't rave enough about their dinners. Try this place. You will not be disappointed. read more

This is difficult to write, because in the past, we have ALWAYS had great food here, friendly and fast service, wonderful atmosphere. But today . . . not so much. I guess my husband made the mistake of ordering something other than what was on the lunch menu, a noodle/salmon dish, while I ordered lasagna off the lunch menu. As other diners came and went, we waited approximately 20 minutes before our waitress, "B" came to take our order. Then we waited another 20 minutes for her to abruptly set my salad down and said, "Here ya' go" and walked away. Another 20 minutes before the food came. My husband's dish was good; my lasagna had obviously been heated and re-heated several times; the lasagna noodles were mushy and the Italian sausage in it was dried out and "crispy", especially along the edges. My husband did ask WHY we waited so long and, quite rudely, the waitress advised they were busy and only have one cook. No apology - nothing. First time I EVER have left a restaurant with NO tip left. Last time we ate there [about 3 months ago], we left a $20 tip. Update: We have been contacted by the owner of Sidelines, which clearly demonstrates their dedication to perfection by responding to our concerns. We are more than pleased with his response and truly appreciate him reaching out and looking into this matter. As a business owner, this is where the rubber meets the road - customer service. We will definitely continue to patronize Sidelines for the quality of their delicious meals and recommend others do the same. read more

I am visiting family in Monroe. My sister had been wanting to try this place, so 6 of us went for dinner.on a Monday night - 5 adults and a kid. We were seated promptly, and a waitress brought us electronic menus - very cool. We ordered the calamari to start. The marinara was delicious, and the calamari was the plank style, and came with fried jalapeños. Very good! The bread with seasoned oil was delicious! I could have eaten just the bread! We had lasagna, spaghetti and meat balls, chicken carbonara, and the lobster mac-n-cheese. All of it was delicious!! The servings were generous - we all took home leftovers. We had the cheesecake, the tiramisu and the zeppoli for dessert. Plan on splitting the zeppoli; there were 10 or 12 on the plate with yummy vanilla bourbon sauce. Overall, this place is excellent! The family agrees it's worth the drive from Monroe, and I will make a point of coming back whenever I'm in town! read more

First visit with my wife and daughter. Service was good, food was good, and price was reasonable. We had a pizza, chicken parm, and spaghetti with meatballs. All were good and portions were fine. We capped it off with the cheesecake which was really good. On top of that they didn't rake us over the coals for wine and beer and we were seated immediately on a Friday at 6:00. Have been here twice now, and both times were awesome! Service was great both times (had Kelly & Joe respectively). I ordered the sacchetini alfredo with grilled chicken breast both times--little pasta pouches filled with a ricotta mixture in alfredo sauce with mushrooms, spinach & chicken and fresh shaved parmesan on top. Daughter has had one of the flatbread/pizzas & chicken parmesan & husband has had one of the pastas. Everything mentioned was delicious & in generous portions!! The bread was also very good & came with the typical herbed oil for dipping. *Imo, the bread/herbs are even better if you spoon a little of the grated parm (on each table) and dip your bread into it... The menu is on a little touch screen tablet, which is cool. The decor is simple & understated, and the restrooms were clean. If you haven't yet, you definitely need to check this place out read more

My third visit. First two were great . Last visit I ordered Rigatoni with spicy cream sauce. I have had this dish previously and it was great. This time it was not cream sauce and was sprinkled so heavily with pepper flakes I could not finish it, I probably should have sent it back but there was only one waitress and it was very difficult to get her attention. The salad was great and the beer was cold. The pasta was pretty horrible though. Time to retrain the cook. read more
