The atmosphere is effortlessly civilized: bright, relaxed, and sufficiently comfortable to encourage lingering without descending into the laptop-induced paralysis of so many contemporary cafés. The patio is particularly appealing, with sunlight, greenery, and the sort of unhurried ambiance that makes you suddenly believe you have nowhere else to be. The coffee is superb. Greek coffee is bold and concentrated, while the specialty drinks display an almost suspiciously effective command of sweetness, spice, and texture. The womelette, an omelet cooked in a waffle iron, is wonderfully absurd and genuinely delicious, which is a rare combination in breakfast cuisine. Service is warm and personal, and the staff contributes substantially to the café's neighborhood character. Prices are not bargain-basement, but they feel entirely defensible given the quality and portions. Penelope's isn't merely a coffee shop. It is a small, caffeinated argument for slowing down.

They have a wide selection of coffee/tea drinks as well as pastries and breakfast. We came early morning to grab some coffee and light breakfast. I had a hot Latte and a veggie egg sandwich breakfast. Both were bloody amazing!! I tell you the latte is so smooth, crisp and perfectly made to my liking. Now the breakfast sandwich was small but tasty. Service was spot on. The vibe was relaxing. Indoor and outdoor seats are available. Overall, this is a great coffee shop.

They don't have a huge selection of donuts but you can get your classics here as well as some more unique options, such as mochi donuts, or donuts with unique flavors, like blood orange and raspberry. We decided to get a lemon mochi donut, a blood orange mochi donut, a classic chocolate, and a chocolate "cruellar" donut. All the donuts tasted freshly made, had a soft dense interior, and were very delicious. The chocolate ones in particular paired very well with a cup of coffee the next morning. They also have unique ice cream flavors here. We look forward to trying those on our next visit.

The strawberry shortcake donut was delicious. The strawberries were a little too tart but the glazed donut was delicious. Mochi donuts were ok but I probably wouldn't get again. Tried a chocolate donut log with egg custard. Do not recommend the custard filling. It isn't done lengthwise and wasn't tasty. Donut itself was soft and fluffy. Overall, I'll come back for a sweet treat. I think service at this one was better than the other cause just less customers.

Let's talk about the bread, TOASTED to perfection. Every bite has a crunch, not soggy at all and not too hard! You can literally eat the bread by itself.. and now we talk about the toppings. Generous on the lettuce which is big! Feeling healthy with every bite! Yes, the meat is tasty. It is not dry and I did get everything on it which was a great choice! the pickles OMG, the pickles really added that crunch, and the fresh veggie taste that it needed to blend this altogether to a great bite per bite! I am not kidding! You guys have to try this, maybe I just happen to get the right person at the right time because they were not busy but I am now ordering this forever! I did add bacon which came out to a little less than $20 and this sandwich is worth it given how this big size is!

The Hitman has roast beef, bacon, chipotle Gouda, garlic butter, and chipotle aioli, while the Cave Man comes loaded with hot pastrami, bacon, Havarti, avocado, and spicy mayo. The sandwich guys behind the counter were friendly, quick, and definitely know what they're doing. They don't mess around when it comes to the portions either--you get a thick, satisfying sandwich that actually feels worth it. Only downside is parking can be a pain, so give yourself about 10 extra minutes to drive around and find a spot. Overall, I'm hooked and will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Great sandwiches, good people, and generous portions.

I came here the other early morning to buy coffee and donuts…read more The first red flag was that as I was sitting, parked in front, I took a bite of the plain old fashioned and discovered that it was stale. I went back inside and was immediately given a fresh old fashioned. The glazed cruller was ok, but it had an artificial (custard) flavor that I found a little off-putting. I had purchased two "chocolate" cruller. The glaze on this donut was NOT chocolate. The glaze tasted absolutely artificial, overly sweet and probably a health hazard. I ate just the underside of one of these donuts and threw the rest away. Sadly, the workers had not bothered to change the frying oil in a long time, so even the fresh old fashioned donut from this place, which was relatively inoffensive, suffered from an ever-so-slightly rancid flavor. The coffee was solid and they offered a lot of different options for it, such as milk and cream as well as the usual nasty French vanilla "creamer," which is the only reason that Chucks gets a second star. This business owner should radically restructure their business model to include quality over cost-cutting, because they would do better to use clean (and not soybean) oil, real ingredients without artificial flavorings, and authentic chocolate instead of whatever unpalatable garbage I experienced. They offer all kinds of superfluous menu items and they should really consider making better donuts. If I hadn't exchanged the first donut, I would have wasted money on 3 out of the 4 donuts. It is telling that rather than selling out, this business had inventory left from the day before, and they tried to sell it to me. Stan's donuts in Santa Clara often has to close early because they sell out hours before their 3PM closing time, and they don't do this disgusting quality compromise.
