I love this place! Although I have since moved from the area, I used to order carryout or delivery from Sidewok at least once every other week for the couple years I lived off Colfax. They are always friendly, very quick (carryout is ready in 10 minutes flat and delivery only takes about 30), and the food is amazing. I ordered from Sidewok Cafe last Saturday for delivery. I ordered Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Sesame Chicken with side of Wonton Soup. After waiting over an hour, I called to ask about my delivery. The lady who answered said the delivery guy left a long time ago so he should be here very soon.... No apologies- nothing. So I wait another 15 minutes and then get a call from delivery guy asking if I live near 6th ave. frontage road.... I told him I live on 16th pl. He informed me that he read the address wrong... umm okay. Still waiting. He showed up with my food ten minutes later and to his credit, he did apologize. When I opened my food, of course- everything was luke warm - including the soup. The sesame chicken was soggy and HERE'S the WORST PART: The chicken lettuce wraps were comprised of chicken, canned carrots, canned peas and KETCHUP! OMG ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. I bagged it all back up and opted to eat the only thing I had in my house-Top Ramen. I called to ask about a refund for the inedible food and all the lady would say is, "well thats how some people like them." She told me her boss would be in later and that I could speak with him. Upon speaking with him, he said he wouldn't refund the lettuce wraps just because I didn't like them, but that he would refund the Sesame chicken because it was cold. I told him that all the food was cold including the disgusting lettuce wraps, but he would only refund the sesame chicken. Not bad! I got sesame chicken, fried rice and egg rolls. The fried rice was really good, I just wish it had bigger chunks of chicken and/or eggs. Sesame chicken was good! A little dry, but it had a crispy texture on certain bites which I love. The egg rolls kind of threw me off. I'm used to fried, and they're wrapped in what's used for spring rolls. They tasted really sweet and almost like they had cinnamon inside of them, which personally, I didn't like. My husband and house mate did though! Also- the lady working there was SO NICE. I would not recommend them. Delivery time on a boring Thursday night at 6pm? 1hr 30min. Called after 1hr exactly and woman on the phone said they'd just left. I live 3.8mi or 9 min from the restaurant. It took them another 25min to get my food to me after I'd called. The food? Cashew chicken, potstickers, wontons, tiramisu. Mediocre. I frequently go to this restaurant and for the most part they are decent. I usually buy the chicken wings but the last three times that I did so each time the wings looked different. For example, one of my orders looked like they cut up the wing in halves. Another example, I did not recognize the "wings" and finally chicken wings that were recognizable. This place is amazing! Their Chinese food is authentic, but it still tastes good! They have a huge ton of variety, and vegetarian dishes busting out the seams! Not just rice and water chestnuts here! The outside may deceive you, it's location on Colfax can make it look lower end, but this is a cultural gem, and a place definitely worth taking your from-out-of-town friends! They do close too early, closing at 9:30, 10, or 10:30 depending on the night. Maybe if they would move their location further down Colfax toward town, they would attract more late night business. My wife and I and went and picked up some things to go. When we got home and I tasted the Happy Family dinner I almost gagged. I tasted like bad fish with a pungent fishy smell. I took a couple of more bits and it got worse. I called the restaurant and the manger got on the phone with me and he basically called me a liar and told me that the food wasn't bad. He then told me that he wouldn't fix the order and he didn't care if it was bad. I told him that I would call the BBB and Health Department and complain and he said go ahead. This man knows nothing about customer service and accommodating the public. I will never go to this disease infested restaurant again. And I advise you to sip it too. I had an awful experience with this restaurant and their customer service was outright rude to me when I brought it up to them. The chicken with veggies comes with basically no chicken. We ordered online for delivery and it took them over an hour (which is fairly normal). When I called because it had been 10 minutes after our order should have been to us we were told that not only had our order not even been made but that it would be an additional 40 minutes before our food could be expected. I agree with the first review about the Kung pao. It isn't very good. But I have ordered from this place 6 times and everytime I ordered from the Thai part it was delicious...I don't eat meat too much so usually substitute tofu for chicken. Try the, basil chicken, panang, seseme chicken, drunken noodles or satay. This is the worst Chinese food I have ever had and I've had bad Chinese. First of all I'm not sure how you mess up sweet and sour pork! Well Sidewok has figured it out. The lady carries 3-4 phones on her hands and her husband is always out making deliveries. We usually go to the restaurant and make a to go order because we live close by. I usually get their fried rice and honestly their fried rice isn't that bad. I like that they add mung beans on their fried rice. Although I wish they could add more vegetables. read more

Do not eat here! We ordered Pad Thai and Steamed Veggies w/chicken. When they arrived the chicken in the Steamed veggie dish was slimey and seemingly under-cooked. The chicken in the Pad Thai was basically the same. when we called to tell them they simply said the chicken was cooked and it was the same chicken in the Pad Thai. They said "if you can eat the Pad Thai, you can eat the other dish." they literally said that! When I told them I wanted a refund and that I would even drive back to show them the dish (so they didn't think I was trying to get a free meal), they said 'No', they would not give me a refund. I have ordered from this place countless times and it has been pretty consistently tasty for cheap Chinese food. I think 3 stars is pretty far since there is better our there but Denver seems to be lacking a great cheap Asian food scene so I would say with that considered, it may even warrant 4 stars in the area. They are speedy with the delivery, have a ton of great vegetarian options and are pretty consistent. My husband is a fan of the sesame chicken and I usually stick to the Kung Pao shrimp which I definitely recommend! The fried rice is yummy and the chicken lo mein is pretty generic but flavorful. I don't usually review places, but for as highly reviewed as Sidewok was I wasn't overly impressed. I did appreciate the portion sizes, for the price they did provide a lot of food. But over all the food itself had very little flavor and I feel like for drunken noodles and Thai fried rice that shouldn't be the case. In addition to the lack of flavor, the drunken noodles looked and tasted as though they had been left out for an hour under a heat lamp. They were dried out so much. My last complaint was the time it took. It was a Tuesday night at 5pm when I ordered. I realize it was dinner time but there is no way that it should take an hour and forty mins to get fried rice to and drunken noodles cooked up. I will try it again but just wanted to give my feedback for those who are craving solid food. read more

Ordered food here for Monday Night Football this week because who wants to cook when there is football to watch? UG, I called to place the order and was put on hold for almost 5 min. She came back (spoke really poor broken English) and asked me my address for delivery. Oh, and then I was put on hold again for ~3 min. She took my order, which literally due to the language barrier, took about 5 more minutes of repeating, clarifying and the like. It took over an hour for the delivery and I live 3 miles from this joint. I got shrimp green curry, mongolian beef and steamed veggie dumplings. Food was about a 3.5...pretty good.
