You walk in to pick up your order and they have tables blocking the entry, that's where you pay for your food. The portions are still as giant as ever, and the prices are still affordable. My wife and I had a hankering the other day for our old stomping grounds, so we jetted over there to pickup an order. It was ready in 10 minutes and two meals ran us $32. I think I pay $32 for a good cup of coffee these days!!!!!! I kid, I kid. The meal lasts you for days, you really get two giant sized portions out of it. It will probably last some of you three days. They don't skimp out here and it's incredible. They serve Asian fusion, Chinese American meals that are addictive. Or is that the MSG??? Probably so, and that's why it's delicious. The food is just so damn craveable! Don't break the bank. Get what you really want. Taste of China, we still love you so much.

Any of their shrimp dimsum seem to have full plump shrimps including the steam shrimp and chives dumpling that normally is chopped coarsely. The pork blood was cooked perfectly and so smooth.

I'm not a fan of duck so it would not be fair for me to write anything about it, but those who loved duck meat said that this place serve wonderful barbecue duck. As for the pork, both roasted and barbecue, they were so good. We had a little bit of white rice to eat with the meat, but really, you don't need the extra rice in order to eat these two types of pork meats. Since both styles of the pork were prepared differently, I cannot say one is better than the other: they were both delicious. The crunchiness and the flavorful from the roasted pork, as well as the aroma and the soft chewy from the barbecue pork, brings this dining experience to the next level. We also ordered the yu stir fry choy sum in garlic, the combination fried rice, and salt and pepper shrimp. I highly recommend the yu choy and shrimp dishes. I would skip the fried rice and get their beef chow fun, which is exactly what my other group of 6 did. In addition to what were mentioned above, they ordered Chinese broccoli, daikon and beef in clay pot, Taishan five spice duck, salted fish & chicken fried rice. Everyone enjoyed their food and dining experience here. Conversations were easily understood and heard. When asked what their favorite dish was, all of us said we liked everything, but when pressed to give one special dish, several folks mentioned the roasted pork, the clay pot, and the salt and pepper shrimp. Service here was excellent. The manager was very accommodating to our large group of diners, coming back and making sure we are doing fine as he refilled our water glasses. If you are looking for legit Chinese barbecue pork and duck, you don't need to look further: it's here at Happy Cafe BBQ. Enjoy!

Ordered through Yelp online ordering. That was easy and a great service. Four people ordering - 2 of us are vegan. Ordered here based on recommendations for their vegan friendly menu. They post it online too so that helps.There were alot of menu options from other ethnic groups. Why not just do CHINESE as advertised? The food is just mediocre. Alot of filler veggies (carrots/peas/onion) and alot of sauce, not enough protein pieces in anything, meat or fake meat. All of our sauce was on the sweet side and the fried rice was oily? Spice levels were totally off, as in not enough spice for the level asked. When it is Genreal Tso's chicken, not good. We were told 20 min, great. Got there in 20 and food was all packaged and sealed. Upon opening it up at home we couldn't figure out what was what. We had ordered 2 items in both vegan and non vegan. Nothing was labeled at all. We called and asked how to tell what was what.... after a lengthy "hmmmm" they told us to have the people who eat meat taste both and they could probably tell the difference. WHAT? Seriously!? Well, it took some time and taste testing which doesn't say much for the meat going into the food. Good thing it was family. If this is how they handle vegan it doesn't bode well for what is happening IN THE KITCHEN. Prices are good but the food tastes like reheated leftovers. Atmophere is typical Chinese take-out, nothing fancy. This was a Friday night about 6-7pm. No one in the restaurant itself but it looked like there were a couple of other to-go orders. read more

Never again!! I called Sidewok Cafe after work to place a delivery order. The woman on the phone picked up the phone and immediately said: "can you wait." I didn't even have a chance to say "yes" when she laid the phone down. I waited and waited and could hear people talking in the background but nobody picked the phone back up. Finally, after about 5 minutes, the same woman picked up the phone and took my order. They're just down the street from me but it took about an hour to arrive. When it did arrive the delivery guy was talking on his cell phone and didn't even say hello when I answered the door. He handed me the bag and the credit card receipt and turned and walked away. No "thank you" or "have a good evening," etc. When I opened the bag my Styrofoam container had been placed in the bag sideways and all the sauce had spilled out onto my side orders and condiments. What a total mess. The food was cool by the time it arrived and was only so-so in flavor and quality. I'll eat lawn grass before buying anything from this unprofessional bunch again. read more

These dishes were chicken pad Thai, beef drunken noodles, pork Thai fried rice, chicken pineapple fried rice, vegetable combination stir-fry with tofu, pork pad kra pao stir-fry, chicken curry, and beef red curry. We enjoyed eating all the dishes and sampling these food items. The majority of us voted the chicken pineapple fried rice to be the best dish. To me, the pineapple and the chicken combination tasted very good together, and the fried rice itself was prepared well: flavorful and has a very good taste. The next second best was the pork kra pao stir-fry dish. Two comments on this dish: (1) "it was a good Thai piece of flavor" and (2) the bamboo shoots were really pronounced. Other comments on other dishes include (1) drunken noodle: "a classic dish that they nailed. Taste like what drunken noodles should taste like." and "the flavor was well balanced.", (2) vegetable combination stir-fry with tofu: "really loved the flavor of the eggplant in this dish.", and (3) green curry: "has just the right amount of heat and curry itself had a bright color." Because of the large group, the group decided to split into two separate smaller tables. This way we could talk and have meaningful conversations. It was a lively outing with folks walking up to get seconds. If you are in the neighborhood and want to try some Thai food, stop here and try my two favorite dishes: the chicken pineapple fry rice and the vegetable combination stir-fry with tofu. Also get their Thai iced tea. It was perfectly mixed so that you can taste the tea flavor and not drinking a cup full of sugar.
