WOW i'm extremely disappointed! i've been going here for 5+ years to drop my packages off in the back entrance & all of a sudden i can't do that anymore? I have more than 50+ packages and they want me to drop them off all inside that is crazy. And to top it off the woman on the intercom is extremely rude. she tells me one thing last week and all of a sudden it's another this week. if you hate your job get a damn new one since you're obviously not happy there. seriously what a b*tch. Some of the postal workers in the mailroom are rude and untrustworthy. My issue was that the lock on my condo complex mailbox was broken, so I had to rely on postal workers' assistance to bring me my mail . The supervisor criticized me ,telling me that I told a "a long backstory" after she demanded to know why I needed to pick up my mail from the SH Post Office. Naturally, I gave her the details which she described demeaningly as a backstory. She seemed suspicious of me as the address on the driver's license was different from my car registration. She needed another detailed explanation as to why my license address did not match address on bills. After I told her that the DMV refused to replace my license because it would be my second replacement of this license, she begrudgingly accepted this second "back story" and lumbered into the mailroom to find my mail . This supervisor spent 30 seconds looking for mail, and claimed that I received no mail even though USPS indicated that I would receive my Real ID enhanced driver's license. She implied that USPS notifications were frequently inaccurate . I am sure that this supervisor did not even look for my mail. I guess I will return when the tall male supervisor is back . He spent five minutes looking for my mail and gave me five pieces of mail . On 08/20/25 The manager Nancy, although she was very helpful with the customers and very attentive to my needs, she was very rude and demeaning to her employee in front of everybody. This may have been the most pleasant usps visit I've had as of late. I figured going in for passport stuff would be a hassle but no, as long as you have an appointment, and all your paperwork, it is a breeze. The workers are personable, funny, and like family it seems. The entire application process with an appointment took under half an hour. Downstairs, the non-passport section seemed a bit confused about their own self-service machines and the stamps available upstairs. We got a decent amount of cute snowman stamps from the machine much to the employees surprise somehow. read more

If you can avoid getting your PO Box here? I highly recommend it. Packages stolen from Amazon. Told the name signing for deliveries does not exist as employee name. Other times, you show proof of delivery and it takes more than a full day to pick it up. For example, 10am delivery cannot be picked up until next business day at earliest. Hours of pick up for P.O. Boxes is very restrictive as well. Recommend dining a different spot. I will be once my year is up. read more

Went to this Post Office today with my daughter for a Passport application. Our appointment is at 12noon. The lady who took the application was okay. She helped us filled out some missing information, told us to write a check for $220. The application is for the passport book and passport card for $160.00 and $60 to expedite it. After the application was properly completed and filled out she told us to follow her inside the post office and had my daughter sworn in. Then she told us to pay the man in the cashier. Here is where it got weird. That man (Southern Asian) was helping a lady who works at the IRS office. But instead of completing the business already since there are other people waiting other than us, they went on and on and had an IRS session where the lady is explaining a whole lot of things about taxes. One, that was unprofessional because he is at the work going on and on and on about things that has nothing to do with his job. The IRS lady should not have entertained him and could have just said "come to my office and i'll be happy to explain all this to you because we are holding the line"...But she didn't! UGH! But anyway, here comes our turn. This old smug rude and unprofessional post office worker had a gaul to tell us that we should have spoke up when earlier when the Lady who comes to pick Express Mail came and say "Hey i have Express Mail!" I mean was that my job????? I told him, thats not my job. How was I supposed to know that she was there to pick up Express Mail?? Then he tried to charge my daughter $281.00!!!! I said "what for I was told to write a check tor $220"! Instead of answering me he turned to my daughter and said "can you explain to her why?" He is so unprofessional and he looked so miserable at his job which he couldn't do properly! This man should not be working in that office! If you can go anywhere else, NEVER go there! EVER!!!! Racist Postal Supervisor Threatened Me This post office is not safe for women to go to alone. I just had my second racist misogynistic encounter with the same postal employee at this post office. The employee who identified themselves as the supervisor came out at 6:58 PM and told me I had to get out. At the time I was scanning my last two packages to get my receipt so that I could place them into the package chute. I do this because this post office has more than once lost an expensive package that I have mailed out to a client and I know that I can't trust them to just take care of my packages correctly I said no problem I need to put these last few into the box, as I am allowed to by law, as it was not 7 PM. Many times during this encounter they told me that I should be less lazy, better at managing my time, not come to the post office so close to closing, and other derogatory things. I would've been able to leave by 7 PM except the postal service employee continuously physically got into my space in an attempt to intimidate me. I'm talking like two inches from my face. He continuously attempted to void out the transaction that I was doing which was getting a receipt for the packages that I was dropping off at the post office. That is a crime. When I asked him to please stop interfering with my transaction he told me that the cameras were there so they all know that he was OK to do what he did, and then he loudly started telling me that I've got white privilege etc... I tried placing a package between myself and him and he continuously would shove around it to attempt to mess with the machine. I felt sick to my stomach and afraid. Because of this I began videoing the encounter at which time the postal employee told me you're not allowed to make videos inside the post office. However when the video was going the postal employee made the choice to refuse to repeat any of the things he had said to me. This is my second racist encounter with the same postal employee. As an older sick physically frail woman when dealing with this postal employee I feel unsafe. If he literally had just left me alone I would've been out of the post office at 7 o'clock, but because he came in two minutes early and constantly harassed me, both verbally and physically, I was unable to get my business done at this post office in a safe and timely manner. No woman should be made to feel unsafe in a federal building no matter how much the employee dislikes them. No person should have to deal with racist commentary while attempting to do business in a federal building. If I had done a third of what he did to me while I was attempting to complete my transaction in that lobby I would've been arrested This post office is not safe for women to go to alone read more

Review for passport services only. They accept walk ins!!! The passport office is separate from the mailing office so you want to head to the office door left of the main entrance. There's an elevator for ADA accessibility once you enter, and the stairs up and second floor is where all the things happen for passports. If you can make an appt I encourage it! If you have appt, Line 2! It's suuuper short and you prob can be in and out in like 20 mins. On the other hand Walk Ins line is Line 1 - if you ever wonder which line is which - the line with allll the people is the walk ins line. If you need paperwork, you can get it from here too and fill out. But if you can, def print your own and just fill out your own papers and come here prepared. The longest process for me was waiting in line, I had all my copies and paperwork filled out so when it came to processing it took like 2 mins. I really appreciate the person processing the passport paperwork. She would time to time yell out things we need to make sure we have so we don't have to wait longer, and tells people time after time walk ins are closed even though there's already a sign outside. I thought that was helpful ! She has reasonable sass, patience and is really helpful! Time is money! After the paperwork is processed, the next step is going to a second window - Cashier. That part is towards the back. On the day I came, they stop taking walk ins at 10am and office opens at 8:30am Monday. So if you really don't have an appointment and plan to walk in and want to make your time worthwhile - I highly recc to come on a weekday and come before opening and wait. Make sure ALL your paperwork is filled out correctly. Have your documents in hand. Make sure you have your photo ready. Make copies too if you can beforehand. They charge for copies by the way if you don't. They open 7am Sat too so come EARLY. Some people give bad reviews but I knew I would have to wait esp with no appt and this place reached my expectations! I was here for about 3 hours. The folks here are nice and helpful! read more

I'm not sure where to write this but the passport people upstairs did not help and you needed an appointment. Since I can't make appointment to renew my passport I decided to mail it myself. I was a bit lost but Brandie helped. Let me tell you she was a blessing to run into. She helped my process and knew exactly what needed to be done was straight forward about process and helped with appointments for other locations. Charles from USPS signal hill was extremely rude, unprofessional and unnecessarily combative. He followed up on a complaint I filed due to my mailbox being open and possibly being broken into. He presented the option of going through USPS to change my lock for a $50 charge. When I inquired how to go about doing this, he then tried to discourage me by telling me that the process takes a long time and that I would be better changing the lock on my own. I politely declined and explained to him that I'd like to go through USPS since I don't know how to change locks and simply didn't have the time with a newborn. He then became agitated immediately and told me I should go on YouTube to learn how to change my lock and that having a baby was a personal problem. At this point he was clearly angry or frustrated but again, I declined the option to do it myself and expressed that I wanted to go through USPS. He reluctantly instructed me to come down to his branch to fill out a form. I asked for confirmation on the correct address but at this point he was so upset with me that he refused to give me the address and told me to google it. I'm not sure why he was so determined to steer me away from changing my mailbox lock through USPS but he was very snarky, rude and extremely unprofessional. He abruptly hung up before the conversation was over and when I called to speak to a manger he told me he was the highest ranking officer there. Signal Hill Branch, please do better. There's no way he can be in charge of managing this office and potentially other workers with customer service like this. He absolutely shouldn't be handling complaints if he doesn't want to assist with very important issues. I just needed a resolution to my mailbox possibly being broken into which entailed me coming down to the post office and filling out a form for a new lock. Well what can I tell you about this visit.... PLEASE HAVE YOUR DOCUMENTS READY. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND HORRIBLE LOOKS PEOPLE GIVE YOU. So far, if you're a walk-in, you gotta be here early. The first person was in line by 5am. I got here at 702 and I was the 20th in line. The cut off today was 30 for walk-ins. Ok so after you're in line a staff member will come out and give you the run down. Then they open doors around 815. Walk up the stairs and get in line again. Please try to be patient. Yes they will take your picture here too. So don't worry. I had mine taken elsewhere for $14 and it was the wrong size. ... so anyway... if you're gonna do the walk-in, I've been here since 7 and it's 1030am now and I'm waiting for 9 more people to take photos and process. This is the worst post office I have been to. The kiosks say they take credit cards but when you put the card in the system asks for a pin. I asked the manager about it and his response is "its not my problem". I think I'd you are the manager then it is your problem. The second issue is there are no pens anywhere. I asked the manager if there were pens anywhere and he said "no people steal them" I asked how are we suppose to fill things out and his respone was "You're supposed to bring the items filled out". I'm sorry I dont keep USPS slips and packaging at home! Usually people come here purchase it and fill it out but I guess you are not allowed to do it at this location. Prior to today's visit, I had a pretty good experience with some of the workers there... until today. I had a ONE question which I believe would have been a simple question. That question was "where would I drop off an already paid letter that is certified mail?" There was an older African American woman at the register, and she told me to get in line TO JUST ASK A QUESTION. I was baffled and explain to her, I just want to know where to put my certified mail that's already stamped and ready to go. She continued to tell me to get in line. Mind you, I didn't need to pay, get stamps or anything in that service, I just wanted to know if I needed to drop it off at the drop-off box or hand it to her. Every time I go to this post office they always look unhappy with absolutely no smile on their face like EVER. No greeting. Nothing. There wasn't ONE SINGLE person in line today and as I walked up to get helped with about 8 packages I got shooed away to the self help kiosk. Keep in mind, there was not one single person in line meaning I could've been helped no problem as that is just a bare minimum duty of what customer service is. Instead I was standing at the self help kiosk scanning my packages one by one for a solid 15 minutes -- a job that could've had me in & out if I was properly helped by an employee. Though this is a brand new post office (formerly on Redondo), this post office looks nice and has a drive though mail drop. I have made 4 attempts to mail from this location and it has been TERRIBLE. 3 times I printed my labels at home and went to get the priority mail envelope, the free ones. They NEVER have any supplies, 2 of the times the clerks were open and working but nothing. 1 time I went and the lobby was open but the windows were closed and the supply area was empty. Just overall bad bad experience. the 4th time i went through the drive through to drop a letter and the boxes were LOCKED and not accepting mail (the feeder tube at the box had a locked cover on it) and the box at the front door was sealed as well. USPS has gone down hill... way down. Also, the 2 times I went when they were open the line was out the door. read more

I have come with an appointment and as walk-in, and both times the workers were patient and thorough.
