If you have a reason to mail anything out from your residence, save yourself the trouble and drive yourself to a mailbox. Letter carriers do not pick up outgoing mail, they only jam the grocery store flyers over your outgoing mail. Good luck trying to resolve the issue, you will be told it has been handled or there was a sub and that's why it wasn't picked up. Clear training gap identified if the sub letter carrier is not aware they need to pick up mail too. I finally went to this office to speak to someone and was just handed a piece of receipt tape with a name and number to call yet again. Is the USPS hiring because it seems pretty chill, like you only have to do 50% of your job. I will now be looking forward to not receiving any mail due to retaliation. read more

Cannot answer a phone call. Called various times to try to catch them during a less busy hour, but it did not matter. Other usps in LB picks up after the 2nd ring, but unfortunately I have to deal with the east long beach usps because of my zip code. read more

Very disappointing experience at this USPS location. The clerk was rude and more focused on chatting with others than helping customers. I was returning a package and was told they couldn't tape it unless I paid $4, which felt unnecessary and frustrating. The overall attitude was unhelpful and unprofessional. I only go to this post office because it's the closest one to my house. I don't visit the post office often so I just come here whenever I need to. Of course, I have a bad experience every time, but it's just like once every 6 months so it's whatever. The employees seem miserable. They seem like they'd rather be elsewhere. They do not want you in and out the door, they move like snails. I had only 4 parties in front of me in line, and they took over an hour. There are always 2 people working there, and there are usually only 2 people working there. They usually always have attitudes too which is crazy. The boxes and envelopes are always filled up whenever I go, which I am thankful for. Don't come here if you want to leave quickly. Do come here if you want to ruin your day a bit. read more

Very disappointed with this post office location. A couple of the clerks are not very helpful and One of the clerks can be somewhat condescending. The worst is that this place lost my package. I gave them a package to be shipped priority and the package got lost. After filing an on-line package search, the investigation came back and said that the package never left the facility. So where is it? Who knows? Maybe the lost package is hanging out with all the socks we have lost socks at the local laundromat dryer? Lol I will never use this location again to ship a package. Closed Early- Could Not Get Receipt My business relies upon me getting receipts for any transaction at the post office, as I can run into problems if packages are recorded as being mailed late. This post office has lost three of my packages this year, and so I have to get a receipt every time I drop off. The post office decided to close early and so now my packages are going to be going out without proof of mailing, I found a post office worker who admitted that they closed early and he just didn't care. I understand wanting to save the postal service, but there is a reason why people do not care as much as they should when postal workers are mistreated and that is because it is an inevitability that you will have problems with the post office and those problems are pretty consistent, and pretty regular. read more

I probably took less than 30 seconds of the woman at the counter's time, by asking a question about a form. She answered briefly, then I had one more question, and she put her fingers on her temple, closed her eyes, and made an exasperated angry face, and I said "never mind, " and left. I don't need to waste my time and absorb this kind of energy when I'm trying to get help. It didn't ruin my day, and I got help from another location, from a friendly, respectful postal worker who was happy to help. It's kind people who rule out bad energy like this woman had. Kind of a gritty down on its heels, post office but that's not the reason for the one star review. There were three very important pieces of mail that they did not deliver, two sizable checks and a replacement driver's license, despite our having informed delivery and showing them photos of the mail USPS had emailed us. They were completely clueless and had no idea how to help us When we followed up to see what had happened. The most hilarious/sad part of it was when they said go stand by the window to talk to the supervisor and we waited and after about 10 minutes the person who had been speaking to us at the other window came over and said she was the supervisor. She had no more of a clue as to how to help us wearing her supervisors hat then she did wearing her window clerk hat. I called just to make sure that my thoughts were accurate and I spoke to a very rude and insensitive women not being helpful in any way. So now I'm out of a two packages and my money that was spent. 1 star is about 5 too many. This office needs to be shut down, or every last creature in there replaced. The carrier for my route is out of this office. He puts mail in wrong boxes, leaves the entire rack of mailboxes at my building completely open, forgets to put back the key to the gate or to lock the box the key is kept in, has given the security code for the gate to people who he didn't know if they lived here (they didn't!), and even so much as leaving EVERYONE's mail on top of the mailboxes while he takes off and goes to lunch. Try calling and was on hold for an hour, then hung up on. I brought it up on Twitter, and was told they'd notify the branch manager--- no response. Went to go see the manager, and like any other time before "the manager is in a meeting"--their defense mechanism to avoid the manager having to take complaints about the ineptitude of the people in this office. I am so sick and tired of having my packages and mail misdirected, the carrier just dropping packages (I don't expect him to kneel down and be all delicate, but for chrissakes, don't just toss it to the ground, either! You don't know what's in the package and its value both financially and/or emotionally),and being completely oblivious to everything around him. The branch manager does everything possible to avoid having to deal with customers in this office's service area, the desk staff avoids letting customers see the manager, they don't answer the phones and when they do answer just hang up on people instead. I've received mail and seen packages for addresses multiple blocks away, it's not even like it was next door. I've had prescription medication put in the wrong box at my building, and even delivered to an address three blocks away. This location does not care about their customers. They don't care about their reputation that's why their service is poor and embarrassing. The most uneducated employees the U.S. government hires. They are rude, unethical, and outright disconcerting. It's not their concern if your package is valuable. Like many other reviewers, I've never had a pleasant nor a close to satisfactory experience with this location. I even dealt with the Manager, I believe her name is Sherry(?), she dealt with the situation with a preconceived reaction and less enthusiast. I have requested my package to be put on hold at this location because the last package was stolen in front of our door step. I did the transaction online and got a confirmation that the package will be held at this location. Their system is useless. I was told that my package is with the carrier! And, it should be ready to be picked up the following day (3rd day) when I paid 2-Day Priority. This is the second time this had happened. I'm ashamed to have this as my post office. There's never enough staff here; however they did carry some flat rate boxes that I needed. Parking lot is small and they do have yellow tape on the ground for people to keep their distance. The line goes by slow because they do take care of their customers and take their time. Crowed today 9/26, @ noon time. no distancing, no max 10 people as posted on a sign, and the service, well, you know how it goes! Slow! photos proof of at least 20 people. 3 at window, 4 in front of me, and about 10 behind me in line. Government. No safety, no order, no importance or care for peoples time and needs! and also, it seems workers now, sell even confessions at the window. People spend 10-15 minutes even today with computers, pay stations, and everything so modernize. why?!! You forgo 'no more than 10 people at time inside' safety guideline? or is this a new directive by the big wigs who only care about politics and money?! I never liked coming here whenever the mail carrier assigned to my neighborhood area was unable to deliver my package because I was not home (would have preferred the carrier to leave it in the mail box locker). I will definitely not be back to this location ever again! Arrived right upon opening at 9am so I could mail a care package to my mom. I was the 1st and only customer in the lobby and the only clerk that was available didn't even greet me, she just gave me this look with a raised eyebrow like "what do you want?". I went up to her window and she still didn't ask if she could help me and I told her I wanted to mail this pkg (the box I had in my hands) so she gestures to me to put it through the bullet proof door. The box I was mailing had "LIVE PLANTS" on it and she asked me if I was mailing them and I said no, they're clothes, yet again she asks me the same question. I responded with a resounding NO, I already told you they're clothes, if you want to see for yourself open the package! She didn't say a word and then proceeded with the transaction. When asking if I wanted cash back I asked her if there was a fee and she said no so I requested 10.00 in cash and then she proceeded to tell me rudely "what, I can't hear with them talking in the background (meaning her colleagues). I responded by telling her that wasn't my fault and to tell them to shut up then! By this time I am so irritated by her negative attitude and rudeness that I am surprised she pointed out the survey at the bottom of the receipt & she thanked me but I did not respond. read more

This location has like 8 parking spots and it's only one way, so if all Parking spots are occupied then you have to leave the premises and try again until you get lucky. This has to be the most unprofessional post office I have ever dealt with. They often don't pick up the phones. You have to call four or five times for anyone to pick up. When they finally do, none of the employees seem to know what they are even talking about. They often just give excuses why they can't do their jobs or blatantly give misinformation on a situation. Dealing with the staff in person is even worse. They are rude, lazy, and clearly incompetent. They often direct people to other lines so they can close windows and don't deal with anything. Like it seems they hire from the bottom of the barrel. The way they treat customers is practically subterranean. I pity anyone who has to deal with these people and their extreme incompetence. Every time I go to this post office there's always an issue. I remember when my Step-father worked for the Postal Service, they were very professional. They're uniforms HAD to be neat and clean, very presentable. Now they look like they have been sleeping on street corners. They're mean and don't take the job serious. Good Customer Service goes a long way in any business, the customer is NOT always right but you want them to leave feeling like something was accomplished, no matter how small.
