One of the worst P.O. in Long Beach. No concern for customers time. Only one employee working the window at any given time. Arrived after 4pm post-work, and noticed packages piled up in drop-off window, one agent tirelessly working as the line grew outside door. Our community mailboxes locks were damaged during a theft incident. Now we have to go in person to the post office to pick up our mail. It is already an inconvenience to have to get to the post office before 5:00 p.m. but what really hits the nail on the head is the line wait time is about 15 to 20 minute. Being that at least 32 residents are affected by the broken locks, it would have been considerate to have additional staff on hand to help with the additional influx of people having to go to the Post Office to retrieve their mail. And to have one service person to handle the line, tolerating the dirty looks, and frustrated customer complaints, is bad management. read more

This post office is one of the worst, It is filthy. Management is responsible to keep the building, clean and take pride on how the business looks, sad to say this is not even in their priority or concern . The window clerks, do not know the meaning of customer service they are rude, they do not care to help customers when they have questions and concerns and sad to say this is the United States Postal Service , (SERVICE) that means to help people. If I could click no stars I would! The incompetence of the Manager Luz at this station is beyond reproach. Excuses after excuses. That may work in Mexico or somewhere in South America but not here in the United States. Never had these types of problems before she became manager. Her staff is insubordinate, and does not follow her instructions and there are numerous times when I have called the office. I never want her to contact me again I only want to speak with her upper management or the Post Master General. My mail slot had been left open, some of the carriers can't find the mail slot which is clearly identified, the mail is not being delivered, and all the manager, Luz says is she did this and she did that. Well she is totally incompetent and people should not be hired just because they speak Spanish and can not do the job properly. If you speak Spanish, be qualified for the position and or learn how to be competent and qualified for the position. I am so tired of this lack of qualifications for this or these positions that we are paying high stamp and shipping costs for when the quality of service has been reduced to the lowest level of poor customer service. Training station or just pure incompetence? Mail delivered consistently of my neighbors outgoing bills that they thought was sent out to the recipient and I also get other neighbors normal mail regularly. Makes me wonder where my mail is going. Got Informed delivery, and watch what I did not get that day. Even found mail on the street. I went this afternoon to return a box that was deliver incorrectly, and the lady behind the counter was condescending and rude there was a little boy playing under the table that was for customers to get In line and I processed to get on the other side and she yelled get behind I was surprised by her bold treatment and unprofessional manner then I get behind in the middle again no one else in the post office and she yelled I told you at the end of that counter like I didn't speak English lady I have a state job , and I don't treat my customers In that manner she needs training on how to deal with customers correctly ! Took 30 minutes to get my stuff sent out. A line of over 10 people and only one poor woman doing all the work! By the time I got to the front they FINALLY had someone else come and start helping. Only took you like 25+ minutes for that to occur so probably on their break but ridiculous. To add insult to injury the lady helping me I clearly stated fragile and marked it also and she just tossed my packages in the bin -_- Are you freaking kidding me!? That's why I said fragile! I swear if it's broken on delivery you'll hear from me xD To add insult to injury she just confirmed the address for me rather than let me make sure SHE entered the info correctly! I was never a fan of the post offices and i'm really not a fan after going to TWO post offices (1690 W 23Rd St Long Beach, CA 90810) also in long beach to cash their OWN money orders that they can't cash it because they have no money! I mean what kind of excuse is this? The government post offices are having a hard time cashing a $100 money order? I got an email that a package had been attempted to be delivered Wednesday night at 7pm but carrier could not access the security building. The postal carrier left no notice but the online information said it was available for pick up but not where. Friday morning I went to the main post office and waited for an hour and a half only to be told they did not have my package. I came home and called the number provided. It said my package was at this post office. I went in and the rude, lazy worker refused to even check for my package saying my zip code isn't in their territory. Now my package is in no mans land. Seriously, if I could give it 0 stars I would. This place was terrible. First of all, let me start off with saying I came here on a Tuesday around 12:30pm. There was two workers (both women) but only one working. The other one was "cleaning" or whatever but okay sure cause there was only one person in front of me. It wasn't busy so I patiently waited for my turn. It took a good 5-10 mins until I was next. When I was being called next, a line was starting to form and the worker was shouting that the line was supposed to be going this way. Like okay, I didn't know. Also, she was just being rude to me when I asked how much would it cost to ship a package, I would like it to be shipped out. Then she ask me where to. I had my phone ready to pull up the address but she was hella rude and said oh never mind, here write it on this and gave me a piece of paper to write down the address myself. FIRST OF ALL, what. I thought she was going to input the address in the computer so that she can print a label for me. But nope, that wasn't the case. So she decided to help the next guest and it seems to be taking a long time and mind you, there is already a line. So nope I wasn't having it... so I left. And I'm usually a patient person but I just couldn't deal with that type of attitude or well I wasn't having it that day. Don't come here unless you have the patience to wait or can deal with these kinds of workers who clearly don't give a shit. Today Sunday Sept 10, 2023 the USPS was in able to deliver a pack of 100 safety pins but AMAZON delivered a hug box of detergenT, toilet paper, Mr clean, summer's eve and a very Downey now I would love to how can the be that the post office can never get in here on a Sunday but Amazon always can. I love my neighborhood post office, the staff is always nice and helpful to me. Since I love to shop online, I get a lot of packages which is always handled great. On this day I had to pick up my package from the post office I love the idea that there's a separate line for mail pick up. The lady I think she is the manager was very nice & pleasant to me. Also my carrier is fantastic I always like to offer her water when she has to bring my package to my door. There is also a guy who fills in for my carrier when she's off is also a nice guy. I had a wonderful experience at this post office. At first I didn't expect anything when had to send a client a parcel of samples. The lady who helped me was Cynthia. She was so nice. She helped me re-pack my flat rate parcel to another thicker package so it won't tear since my samples were bulky. She made sure I knew about the tracking and the $50.00 insurance it automatically covers once my package is in the shipping process. Cynthia also made sure I know about the next day delivery to the receiver. Cool! I have never experienced a postal worker nicer than Cynthia. We need more Cynthias' around. :) read more

I have nothing but problems with this post office. In the past I have had packages go missing that were being held at the post office for pick up. recently I received a package with huge FRAGILE stickers all over it, completely destroyed, I ordered an art print, and received the tube with the contents missing, all the tape was removed. Now Im currently trying to see why my package wasn't delivered and no notice was left so its being returned. Im betting it wont be and will " somehow" go missing. The packages I do get are often thrown on my lawn, or set ON TOP of the mail box that is sitting out by the sidewalk for anyone to just grab. How hard is it to walk a few feet to a porch? This is by far the worst post office I have ever been to. I have the unfortunate pleasure of working for a business that is served by this location. I've missed delivery of several packages from amazon and other places and my front door where im sitting is literally 10 steps from where they occasionally put a note saying they attempted delivery. I decided to go down there and see if they had any of my missing packages since they all said delivered and were nowhere to be found. Magically they turned up some of the packages that were in question. It turns out that if the package won't fit in the business size mail box they just throw the boxes in the F**k it pile and go about business as usual with no attempt at redelivery. I have no idea how many packages show delivered and just sit there and they end up taking home. Personally I've had amazon resend items because they believed they were delivered in the wrong box, when in reality they didn't even bother. I'm amazed at the lack of trying here, the people at this location are the epitome of lazy, careless, unmotivated government workers. read more

Slow service. Workers have to put up with a lot of idiots and jerks and then, in turn, are depressing to be with. There is always a line TIP: drop off pre-posted packages in the large window on the left . There is no sign that tells you that. No automated postage machines. No postage vending machines. So that people can do the work themselves and not have to wait in the dreadful line. Parking is miserable. They have about a dozen spots but I think the people living nearby use them because I was the 4th person in there and all spots were taken. Wtf. Put up 30 minute max signs and make money ticketing people! Yup stick with FedEx people. Schedule them to come to your house for pick ups and avoid the USPS! read more

Im not one for negative reviews but OMG I just had to. I never like to come to this location but It's close to where I work so if Im desperate I'll come here. I had to make a return, shipping was already paid. I went to the clerk/cashier. She tells me, "just walk towards that big window and leave it there". I thought, okay strange bc in the past even though the return label has been paid for i still get a receipt from them. But I thought, hey maybe it's diff when it's a fedex return. So I go over to the window, thinking she would come over, she didn't. I open the window and I see someone else's package there (when I walked in, the place had no one). I didn't feel comfortable but I'm like "wth" I walk away slowly hoping the clerk will get up and grab my package but she doesn't so i leave. The entire time my gut is telling me, go back! FYI this was a $500 return. I finally get to work and I'm super uneasy and I'm like NOPE, I need to go back. So I go back, I want to say almost shy of 10 minutes. And what do I see? My package and the other package still sitting there! So I open the window, grab it and walk away. Not even an "excuse me ma'am" or "you can't grab that". She didn't even notice I walked in after 10 minutes and took it. That could of been anyone. I was so pissed. The place was dead too, so I don't understand why she didn't get up and do her damn job. as someone who works in e-commerce I regularly go to a lot of post offices in the Los Angeles area and this is by far the worst one and it's completely because of the employee pictured. she addresses me as "you guys" as if everybody with multiple packages and pre-paid labels work together, and insists that i print out additional paperwork for her so that she won't have to spend the additional time scanning more than one package. let me clarify... this federal employee who has no knowledge of what method I use to process my company's shipment is not asking, but TELLING me that i need to provide additional paperwork in order to make her paid labor easier. are you kidding me lady? you are an ESSENTIAL WORKER who gets paid by the hour to provide customer service for THE GOVERNMENT. there are plenty of people who are not as fortunate as you and you ask them to spend another dime on a piece of paper just so that your job gets easier? if you are not comfortable with customer service then maybe you are better off in a different part of the facility? i feel terrible because she is literally the only who talks to me like this and this is literally the ONLY post office where i have this problem. no other post office asks anything extra of me and scan all my packages with no problem. i later voiced my concern to the branch manager and they told me, verbatim that "you don't need to come here." THIS is very managerial behavior for sure and i bet she actually gets paid SALARY. I ordered a package from Amazon but they were sending it through USPS. My package was supposed to be delivered January 18th, but it was never delivered. They claim that they left a notice, but they never did and they never attempted to deliver it. I rescheduled a delivery for the next day (January 19th), but still no word or update on the delivery. I spoke to one of the postal workers who was running mail that day and she said that usually they would leave a notice on the door and if not then the notice is back at the office. She tried to help even though it wasn't her usual mail route. So January 21st, I called and no one even answered the phone. So I walked up there since it's about 3 blocks from my house and they lady that helped was on a call on her cellphone with her AirPods in. Even the lady before me had a problem with her because she was to busy on the phone that the customer didn't understand why or how she was charging her. She went to the back and got my package. I asked her if it could be delivered since I'm walking and it's to heavy for me to carry. She mentioned that it couldn't be delivered since it was to big. So I told her I'm walking and I can't carry it. She gave me their dolly to take my package home and to bring the dolly back. No one ever mentioned before hand that it was to big of a package to be delivered. They never attempted a delivery and they never even left a notice. read more

I got here right when they opened waited in line for 10 minutes, just to wait even longer for the clerk to process the stamps!!!! Then I literally was fed up and asked to just purchase normal stamps just for her to tell me "hold on!" When I asked why this isn't processed before opening, she said it's not her fault because they changed her shift. What? Worst postal servicing office I've ever had. The staff at the office is really nice, however, very unhelpful. This is my main post office where my mail is delivered from and packages are held. EVERY TIME a package is to be delivered they mark final notice on my first notice, EVERY TIME! Even if I leave the notice in the mailbox an mark to redeliver the mail carrier won't. I've seen the mail carrier throw packages into my yard over my fence, jumping over the fence an break the top of one of my pickets, and have seen him actually not take mail put out. I've gone in to nicely state my concerns and the supervisor I spoke to seemed to genuinely concerned but nothing has changed. It's still a challenge to get packages delivered and many times packages never get through the mailing system to even get to me. If I order something online I get it shipped to work. PROS: -friendly staff at the office -I get some mail CONS: -don't get packages -they've lots packages I've tried to pick up -parking sucks as their lot is always full -mail carrier is unpleasant, can't be bothered by even a "hello" -called postal 800 to make a claim on broken fence -filing complaints makes no difference -every neighbor on my block is unhappy with the service that we pay for through our taxes read more

Update: Just went to pick up an item and they handed me a package they claimed was lost, then refused by me, then supposedly shipped back to sender over 3 weeks ago. It was marked as lost after they supposedly returned to sender. They don't leave door tags so you don't know if they "attempted delivery" unless you've been watching the tracking. They prevent you from being able to request redelivery by putting in a request themselves that you can't modify or see. They then do NOT redeliver because "we don't do that here". 17 of the last 20 packages that I've had sent to me had delivery issues, in which 3 even ended up "lost" only to have the status be changed to "refused by resident. returned to sender". My apartment is located in the back of my building. There are signs literally posted for the mailman that say "Apartments ___ thru ___ are located through blue gate. ALL PACKAGE DELIVERY IN BACK" Theres Another sign on the gate itself that says "enter here for apartments ___ thru ___ and package delivery". The mailmen ignore the signs and instead knocks twice at my NEIGHBOURS apartment (because, like the signs say, my apt is in back), then marks my packages as "delivery attempted". My family and I have literally had the post master arrive at our home to deliver mail that the mailmen failed to do. i was expecting an extremely important package today, and was awake and ready at 7:00 am for the mailman to come. Then at 7:35am he marks it as failed attempt. This time not even going to the wrong address either (Sister waited there). There was no attempt. This post office is utter trash. read more

Once again I made the mistake of swinging by my closest -to-home post office... and once again they were rude and lazy. I had 5 pre-packaged - pre posted packages to just drop off. One was too large to fit in the mailbox so here I am... trying to just drop my things off. When I get inside and go to the drop off window they have it locked because they forgot to close their side of the window. There are 2 people working in the front and one employee seemingly getting dressed for work right in front of everyone ... both window people had seen us standing there trying to drop off our packages but choose to continue on with their confused customers and not just reach over and fix the problem so others could drop off. No one would open the self drop window no matter how hard we tried to get their attention. I ended up standing there for 10 minutes until 3 people in front of me had finished their business just to ask them to open their drop off window. What's the point of printing postage from home if I have to wait in line every time at the office. And then the woman was annoyed with me for asking her to take the packages! This location constantly loses my packages, I wish the workers had a better working environment they always look so drained and over it. I would recommend ordering your shipping supplies online because this location will rarely have what you need. I gave this place 2 stars because Jessica behind the window seemed quite bitter helping me I speak kind to everyone simply cause you never know what a person is going through I just lost a loved one and this lady was being continually rude however as she kept sending me back and forward to fix things on a form instead of helping me understand what she wanted filled out. I just started going here to drop off packages recently because it was closer to my house than the one on grand. But eversince i did, they lost my packages TWICE!! . One was a 36 inches in length how you lose something that big?? When I asked them to look into it all they did was check the tracking like really? I could do they myself on my phone! Had to cancel my customers orders and take a lost . Smh do NOT go here unless you want to risk your packages getting lost and not get reimbursed.
