We did a complete kitchen remodel. Our designer brought us here. Started with one guy and then got transferred to Mahsa. She was amazing! We went thru the entire kitchen design a few times until we got everything that I wanted. Only issue was that CA codes you can't put an appliance next to a slider so I had to expand my kitchen at the refrigerator is outside of the "triangle". But I was able to design my kitchen with her help. I added an island ( my only major requirement). After we finalized the design, we went thru and make sure I had mostly drawers, only a few pullouts and added some special inserts ( corner pieces, kitchen aid pullout, silverware drawer, spice cabinet, utility spacers). I added it all. I love my kitchen. There was one spot on the vent cabinet I don't know where it came from ( either came that way or contractors scratched it while installing it), but Mahsa sent her cabinet guy out to sand and respray it. We did have an issue with some gaps between a couple of the drawers, but KiLand sent someone out to take a look and adjust. I had to get a bathroom double vanity replaced because of water damage. Unfortunately, the area that I have to replace has non-standard dimensions. On top of that, our plumbing for the double vanity has really awkward dimensions. My partner and I visited multiple stores to try and find prefabricated vanities that would fit, but nothing really worked. The annoying part was that all of the stores that we visited were not very helpful. The staff at other stores were dismissive when we had a lot of questions. When we arrived at KiLAND, we looked around a bit before connecting Aya for help. She suggested a custom vanity due to our measurement constraints. We were a bit worried about the pricing, but Aya worked with us for the various configurations to stay within our budget. I am extremely dissatisfied with the customer service we received from Aya. Everything was fine when we were in the design and purchasing stage, but once this was completed communicate was not effective. The worst experience was around delivery when Aya did not email or text details regarding status of delivery. Our first delivery was incomplete and the packaging of the items were such that it was unclear that was being delivered. We were told we needed to have people available to help unload the truck (strange, but going with it), The driver did not have plans or any paperwork outlining what was being delivered. Aya was rude to our contractor who was trying to gain clarity. Again, did not know the deliver was incomplete. To finish the delivery process, I had to make multiple phone calls around status with no response from Aya. Finally after threatening to speak to Aya's boss, she picked up my phone call and said remaining items would be delivered on Friday. No time confirmation but our contractor's team was on stand-bye and no call. When I called to see when the driver was planning on leaving, I was told that the driver is out sick today and it would be scheduled for the following Monday. I lost it. It was Friday morning and talked to Aya on Wed. when she said Friday. Remaining items were delivered on Monday and I am so happy to be done with Aya and Kiland Design Center. My contractor and myself will never refer anyone to this design center. It is unfortunate that we stopped by, so hopefully you will learn from us. read more

We recently bought a house and like everyone we wanted to get some things remodelled especially the kitchen. We visited kiLand design center at baystone and to buy the required material for our Kitchen remodeling project - which included counter top, tiles, kitchen cabinet. Due to pandemic the supply chain was adversely impacted and the kitchen cabinets that we liked had a 3 months wait time as these were German made, thats when we meet Aya and she was very helpful. She actually found a similar ones made in US with a slightly different color. They were more beautiful and reasonable then the German ones. Buying doesnt mean that we are done, after the cabinet we had to choose accessaries. She explained us all the accesseries and what will fit where. She has a good sense of interior design, as she help gave a one of the best tips on cabinet and appliance alignment. Aya was always welcoming and ready to help when needed. Even after the purchases was made, she was still responding to our questions, helping us track the order and making sure she communicates immediately if she foresee any delays. Our contractor was trying to push the responsibility on the cabinet maker for the misalignment they had done during installation of the cabinet doors. After talking Aya, he agreed it was his respnsibility and corrected the mis-alignments. Fast forwarding 4 months, we realised that we could have built one more cabinet in the place we reserved for something else. Immediately we reached out to her to make sure we get those same cabinet to fulfill our desire. It took her few hours to respond on availability, cost and timeline when it will be delivered. Thats shows how dedicated she is for her work. I will highly recommend her, if you are looking to buy custom/standard cabinets and dont know where to start. After many months of brainstorming and looking for inspiration online, I finally made my mind up on a few projects I wanted to do around the house. I came by on a Saturday and the place was busy, but the workers took the time to greet me and see if I needed help with anything. I personally don't like when workers and salespeople approach me, but Charles did a great job of knowing when to educate me on a particular topic and when to back off so I could think on my own. Charles was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions thoroughly by giving me the pros and cons for each of my design choices. I left the place impressed. I was looking for a bathroom vanity and it was very difficult to find the right one because our dimensions were not standard. I worked with Kim at KiLAND design center and she is just the best!! They had one in stock that looked like it might work but I wasn't sure. Kim double checked the measurements for me (complete with photos!) because she knew it was a very tight fit and I really needed to make sure it would work. Once we figured out it would fit, there was a small amount of prep work that needed to be done. My schedule changed and I asked if they could accommodate an earlier pickup, and Kim made it all happen. She made sure the prep work was done and everything was ready to go for me. I went to several bath and kitchen shops in the area but after my experience with Kim, KiLAND is now my go to! read more

We asked them to quote on a hardwood floor installation. Although I am reasonably experienced with home projects, this was outside of my comfort zone. To make sure, we asked them to come to the house, measure the area correctly and make sure there is a plan for the project. The estimate was about 10k and we accepted. Well, they forgot to charge for the glue - add $850. Oh, the preexisting tiles are sitting in 2" of mortar. That happens sometimes, they said. They could have looked at the subfloor easily to see that, but they did not ... add $4k for additional demo work and new raised subfloor. And the flooring of the house is not even so we have to put transitions in; I was able to persuade them to raise the new subfloor and level things off after a bunch of discussions on how this was too much work, but it required a lengthy discussion. Well, next was that they miscalculated the area ... need to add more hardwood floor material and installation charge ... add $1.7k. And when it came to installing the last transitions to the adjacent rooms, I was told that the material they ordered would not work and they did not have time to get other items and finish it (they said I should finish it myself). Along they way they nicked into my walls many times and left a bunch of black marks. Yes, they offered to repaint, but I kind of lost confidence and considered what may go wrong when their floor installer who does not have time to do his main job would start painting my walls. I have been working with Aya and Rinat at the Kiland Design Center on my new kitchen this summer. The plan that they came up with for my home is something that I would never have considered yet it is gorgeous! My philosophy is when you hire someone to do something - you rely on their expertise instead of trying to step on their toes too much. After giving these ladies the parameters of my ideas, I pretty much let them lead. They are so creative, the storage solutions they proposed are beyond what I could imagine. Their ability to envision color and how it harmonizes - flooring/cabinetry/hardware - is amazing. And they are easy to work with when those ubiquitous minor hiccups arise as they do in the execution of any plan.
