Well here we go again! Dues are now $1160.00, they changed the billing system and did not contact members, no phone call or letter to let us know that they are only emailing you your bill (so no more paper bills). So you can expect that if you're not on top of your billing, you will probably run past due, because they are not contacting members to let them know. We went to visit the park and oh my word it still looks awful, it's even worse than before. Stuff is broken everywhere and if anyone remembers they locked all members out for 2 1/2 months for repairs (what repairs???) it's worse than ever. You'll about break an ankle trying to walk on your own camp spot with all the rodent issues. I couldn't believe how much stuff was broken and it looks so hokey everywhere. Sorry folks, but duct tape and bubble gum doesn't fix everything. I'm so ready to jump ship on this place after being there 25 years, how sad! read more

Here is a wonderful park to stay for up to 30 consecutive days and 120 days a year. It is not far from banning and the 10 freeway about 12-13 miles up the 243. 17-20 miles to Idyllwild The management here really goes all out to make sure the members enjoy their stay here plenty of entertainment and activities. The adult lodge has really nice billiards card room tv viewing area puzzle area and even a snack bar during the summer season Swimming Pool and jacuzzi too With 750 full hook ups and a 48 reservation advance booking window finding a space has not been a problem for me. The cost is very reasonable and paid annually amounts to less than $9.00 a night now 2025 I also appreciate the 24 hours of security here If you're a full time RV er and need 4 months to stay per year you might consider joining the club. A class-action lawsuit needs to be filed against Silent Valley Club. The continuous water issues and the freeze on letting members book spots means they are BREAKING THE CONTRACT YOU SIGNED WITH THEM. They should have had professional repairs done on the failing water system a long time ago, but instead, they decided to cut corners, and do shabby patch-up work. Now there's NO WATER in the park. Everyone needs to get their lawsuits going NOW. DO NOT PUT ANY MORE MONEY INTO THEIR GREEDY POCKETS - YOU ARE BEING RIPPED OFF! Silent Valley club is now currently closed indefinitely, water service is not operational, meaning no water available to flush toilets, shower or wash dishes with. No money to make repairs. This spot is amazing for the family. We come and visit and always have a great time. There is a lake to fish, multiple playgrounds, mini golf course, disc golf course, pool, a Saloon, a general store, a laundry mat and I'm sure I'm missing something. We recently visited for the Memorial Day weekend. You need a membership to stay here. The community is amazing. read more

Still living membership here. Though the dues go up considerably every year, I still feel like it is a bargain. Complaints: $15 dollars for my kid to go fishing for 1 day is absurd . Give me a break. They fish for like an hour or 2 tops. Pavement is in poor shape. Especially at the camp sites. Kids pool needs to be re plastered. When my kids go swimming they get itchy bumps all over them due to the poor state of the plaster (fiber glass is what's causing the irritation/bumps/itchiness ) Parks are in poor shape. Again, these are the very few things I can complain about. The pros gravely outweigh the cons. Live this place. read more

If you want to feel welcome somewhere, this is your place! My boys and I looked to head south from the bay area CA to find warmth.. in our search we found this place. It's not warmer, but it's "home"! We came on a 3 night 4 day stay to learn about membership. If you figure costs from nearby RV parks (like KOA), it's really about 2 weeks of the year and it pays for itself. There is NO comparison to any other RV park. We have a tiny 16 trailer so my boys like to stay in their own tent.. this place allows your RV, a tent, another pop up or tent and 2 vehicles... just like the campgrounds we are used to from tent camping and not the restrictions of most RV parks. The amenities are endless. The place needs some upkeep but the new owner is taking that on and changes are being made. I can't wait to see it once the updates are done! I originally inquired by email from their website and had answers in less than 24 hours. Rebecca was awesome supplying the info requested and so much more. October definitely looks like the month to go. I arranged a visit for a 5 days but after a call from Rebecca letting me know power would be out for a week, we changed dates. Even after changing dates, we arrived to a power outage and left early due to another. It's not the fault of Silent Valley, but the local power company making upgrades. It's just frustrating if you drive 9 hours and don't bring generators. Next time we will bring them even if no outages are expected... because, they do happen. The other oddball things here is the sewer hook up. You need to purchase their adapter at the general store or have a very steady hand - your hook up will not fit. We have a tiny 16' airstream Bambi sport and after the attachment screws onto their sewer pipe it was higher than our black tank outlet.. makes it hard dumping and was thankful for help of two lovely ladies there... I actually had a huge sewer issue with a backup inside the RV and these ladies Rose and Jeanine went way above and beyond to help. This is the kind of people you will find at Silent Valley. Despite our issues with sewer hook ups, we became members and can't wait to go back. The set up is different than other places. It's first come, first serve, but plenty of space. We took time to figure out which spaces are back in, drive through, or those that would have hook ups on the wrong side (drive in only) For us, the sewer is going to be an issue so plan on putting our trailer higher on blocks next time and purchased a mini step for our entrance so our sewer can no run uphill. It's a great place with great people, employees and members... highly recommend if you are tired of lining up inches apart at the typical RV locations. We are tent campers and love campground space.. this is the best of both worlds. Do note, no campfires. There are BBQ pits for charcoal or bring your own gas fire pit. Definitely recommend!! We will do a 9 hour drive again but will stay our full 30 days (guaranteed 120 but only 30 days at a time with 10 days out of the park before you can start another 30) read more

So my entire family has been members here for the past 10 years and this summer my grandmother who is handicapped and disabled rented an RV there two months prior to the reservation date and they accommodated her by having her rental RV 10 minutes away from our families camping site... When we asked them to accommodate and move her location closer they stated that they will be closing at 5 PM and it is not their problem .. she's 87 years old and can't walk far .. it was 1pm when she showed up and all they offered her was $100 reimbursement even though it's $120 a night and she's stay 4 nights....... I love this place and it saddens me that they would treat there own country club members who pay a respectable amount of money to attend this place Im so upset and disappointed with silent valley staff right now.. My in laws(members) paid for a silent valley trailer rental for this weekend. Mind you, they put a tent up in C section since 5/5. They checked in and had given the site number on this date. Well silent valley put their trailer in A section. When they showed up today, with no trailer they were informed the trailer was put in A section. They said they would not move it to their site and wouldn't let us move it either. My in law (my mother with a heart condition and currently on a heart transplant list...barely can walk a few feet without getting winded), is expected to walk to us and sleep alone where we cannot keep an eye on her if something were to happen. Without a lack of care, they simply said it's not that far of a walk and said we're too busy and off at 5pm. They were only given back $100.00 from everything they paid with no attempt to resolve. You should do better for your members silent Valley!!! read more

Silent Valley facilities are ancient, dirty, and falling apart. The hours for all the amenities are bizarre. The park appears to be understaffed and under maintained. Rather than refurbishing the bathrooms, the park's solution was to send a painter around to slap more paint on the old building. There's a surplus of unfriendly rangers who are too willing to wield their power against new visitors who are unfamiliar with the park. One member of our party was given a ticket for not coming to a complete "three second stop" at a stop sign that was not well-marked or easily visible. Instead of issuing a warning, the ranger issued a ticket, then grew confrontational when questioned. It was a negative way to be "welcomed" to Silent Valley. Many of the best spots were taken by vehicles that had been clearly empty for months. The 'for purchase' WiFi at the park is dramatically over priced and inaccessible most of the time from a vast majority of places, including the spots where the WiFi reception towers are placed. In summary, it's clear that the park is mismanaged and could use management that is forward thinking and looking to invest in making the park better. It's a waste of a beautiful place and a business with so much potential. read more

I just want to write this review to forewarn people about signing a contract with this place.. If you don't mind authoritarianism, then this is the place ... charging you fines and fees that you cant even contest, changing the rules of the signed contract at any time they want to their advantage. Do you want to invite family members up to come join you for a day good luck they're not even allowed in the park. The maintenance is minimal nothing works arcades are always down the bathrooms are broken. Electricity constantly goes out of there no cell service and Wi-Fi is terrible. I overlooked all that for years but with the new elected board members destroying the experience of this place I would hate somebody to get locked in and lose a bunch of money read more

I am so happy to be a member of Silent Valley Club. I've been coming for a year now and love returning every time. The staff is friendly and helpful. The park is stunning - HUGE! You will NOT be "camping" like at KOA where you're parked in line just like a parking lot. Here, the spaces are nicely spread out. However, there are a good number of "clustered" sites so a group of friends can park their campers near each other. There are 6 sections and each one has a little different 'flavor' to it. Lots of trees and open spaces. A perfect place to bring your dogs (just be careful as there is wildlife nearby!) and kids, of course, but also great for adults-only. Everybody is friendly! There are numerous 'comfort stations' spread throughout the park, each one housing a separate men's and women's sides with a standard, handicap-accessible bathroom and a shower. There are two pools, one for adults only. Lots of family activities. A pond stocked with catfish. An EXCELLENT bar and restaurant with great food, outstanding service and reasonable prices. 24 hour security. Some people have complained about the fact that memberships are non-cancelable. It is made clear when you purchase a membership that it is renewable without the option of cancelling. The yearly dues are quite reasonable at $650 which covers up to 120 nights. If you suddenly decide you no longer want to participate as a member, there are a good number of people eager to take over your membership. All you have to do is pay the $450 transfer fee. This was my first and last visit to this park. I booked my stay almost a month ago. I showed up with an email confirmation about my booking but the rangers couldn't find it in their computer. The head ranger bill was a complete prick. It is a dangerous drive up a steep mountain with a deadly drop off on one side just to get to this park. Bill tried to make me leave and drive my 44' fifth wheel down this mountain in the middle of the night because my booking wasn't showing in their computer even though I had the email confirmation. His exact words were "If it's not in my computer it's not my problem". I have never been treated this badly as a paying customer in my life. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS PARK! read more

My family have enjoyed this place for the last 20+ years. Lately they have been changing rules and keep increasing our fees. It's sad to see that the park is outdated and needs major upkeep. 2nd Review, keeps getting removed! First, I would like to start off by saying that we have been members for 12 years. My family of five have had the most outstanding experience in the last 12 years and this is by far the worst experience I've ever experienced. In the 12 years of membership, myself, my husband and my children have made lifelong friendships with park rangers, lifeguards and staff members. I was aggressively flagged down by park ranger Lisa, so aggressively that I thought there was something wrong with my vehicle, I rolled down the window and she told me to pull over, I immediately pulled over... again I thought there was something wrong with my vehicle. She aggressively asked me if I knew how fast I was going and I said no I did not and she showed me her speed gun which showed me I was going 15 miles an hour. I said oh my I am so sorry I just went and retrieved my passes for my trailer, We just got here, again I am so sorry. She told me to pull over to the side more on the dirt, you are getting a ticket, she said it so aggressively that I thought I was on an episode of cops, I know it sounds dramatic, but she was that dramatic if she had handcuffs, she probably would've cuffed me. As she is writing me the ticket I asked her if she was serious , I don't get a warning. I told her that I was truly sorry I will slow down. I didn't realize I was going that fast. She paid no attention to what I had to say and continued writing the $150 ticket. After she handed me my $150 ticket she proceeded to tell me I only had 24 hours to pay it. Why is that by the way? If you're going to enforce the speeding rules then respectfully enforce all rules to all members. Some of us spend $600-$700 just to get up here to start our vacation then you require us to pay a fine within 24 hours. Being raised a cops daughter I know how to treat law enforcement, I understand that park rangers are law-enforcement as I treated park ranger Lisa with respect as she did not treat me with respect, but only misconduct. As I continue to ask around my fellow members and telling them my story that day they too had similar encounters with park ranger Lisa. Mike did not consider my request for refund, In fact just as rude as Lisa. I really wish Pat was still here as he promised me this situation was handled wrongly and he would correct it. I really think that you should take into consideration having a meeting with park ranger Lisa and Mike if he is even still employed here, and educate them both on how members should be treated who pay a significant amount of money to come here on vacation throughout the year. As for me, she ruined my weekend. I will be more cautious in my speed, because I am a decent person but I do think that park ranger Lisa should be held accountable for her actions as we are all here on vacation and look forward to our vacation because we work hard and we are not here to be treated poorly. Please get proper management especially as you keep upping our dues! read more

They make you feel like you are constantly breaking their rules. It's a beautiful place that could be very relaxing, but the security team (driven by the board) hounds it's patrons and makes the entire experience a hassle. If we weren't locked into a timeshare type contract, my family would have stopped coming to this place years ago. The older people have a compulsive desire to create problems for any young families who is just trying to have a good, relaxing experience. So, unless you want to get membership at a place that only has the appearance of relaxation... Be my guest, but I guarantee if you do anything that let's people know that you are having a good time, it will be met by a ranger who will apply an arbitrary rule in an attempt to make your vacation miserable. Maybe it would be better if they just rebrand this place as a retirement community. read more

My wife and I have been members for less than 5 yrs. Although the membership fee has been raised since becoming members I would not go anywhere else!! For less than $8 a day we get a concert every weekend during the summer. There is an adult pool and center for those of us who do not have kids staying with us while we camp. There is a restaurant, bar and snack bar, kids arcade, basketball & pickleball court, volleyball court, horseshoe and bocce ball, frisbee golf, fishing pond that is stocked every derby and can be fished everyday. During the summer there are tournaments in several of these areas. While staying at SVC you can also hike, bike and do water aerobics. We have met a lot of good people while camping and are still friends to this day and arrange to met and camp together. I will have to say the BIGGEST event all year it Halloween with lots of activities all weekend. We have a NEW Board this year and are looking for a NEW Director. The facilities are being up graded and maintenance is getting better. If there is a problem and you report it the Office or Rangers things do get resolved in a timely manner. I believe you can always find a problem and complain about it but if you think of SVC as a second home like so many do, if you find something wrong come with ideas to help better/resolve the issue. read more

This place ran the back of my 60 grand fith wheel into a pine tree . Destroyed my ladder ripped of my sewer hose storage broke off my rear wheel on my chair storage . It took them a year to reinstall a new ladder and used different holes to install. put silicon in the holes and puncher hole and called it repaired . This place has not been upgraded since the 80s ! They owe me at least 5 grand to redo the back of my rv . Won't return my phone calls . Do not go to this place !!!! read more

My husband and I just recently joined and we absolutely love it. It is our home away from home. It is a great place for families and basically anyone looking to get away for a peaceful and yet fun getaway. The scenery is amazing. There are campsites of all sorts. Some are more rustic, while others are close to activity centers. There is ample space between campsites, with many being pull through spots. There are comfort stations that are very clean that you can use to take a shower or do your laundry. The staff and rangers are amazing. It is definitely where I want to spend the end of my long work week. We have made so many friends in just a short amount of time. I tell everyone how much I love it there and I encourage anyone to come up for a weekend and check it out. It's worth every penny we paid to become members. read more

If you live near to Banning and you are okay with living with the equivalent of HOA rules, you might like this place. It was a long drive from San Diego to Banning. Got to Banning late and stayed at a hotel. So glad the next day as hwy 243 is dark and windy, and the turnoff road is insanely steep and there are no lights. Yikes. BEWARE WHEN BUYING HERE I bought there 15 years ago and was told that when the time comes they would help me resell or buy it back. It has been difficult to say the least to sell. There is a transfer fee and its impossible to find a buyer when they keep selling them at the park and don't buy ours back. I even tried to give mine away for free and even one time offered to pay someone but when they did research they backed out. If anyone wants a membership u can have mine! My familiy have been members for almost 20 years. Consistently the membership fee is raised almost every year, even during the Covid shut down when most of the park facilities were closed including the restaurant and pools. even the public showers and restrooms were closed. If you want to get out of your membership you have to pay almost $2500 or you can pay a transfer fee of $850 if somebody is willing to take it over. We had a lot of good memories up there when my girl was growing up. if you are a family that would visit the park multiple times a year, it would be worth it. If you only go up once or twice a year there's no way you should sign up. On the lighter side, this place is true to its name. It is completely silent with only the wind in the trees and the birds in the air. Halloween was always fantastic and during the summer they have live performances. During the Christmas season every coach is decorated magically as well as the Halloween season. After the last yearly membership increase it was clear that we could no longer justify our membership. I posted my membership on OfferUp and I had multiple inquiries with no success at transferring. Finally I was contacted by a gentleman that has three kids and had been going there since he was an infant with his parents and grandparents. Even though it was sad and bitter sweet, the transfer to this new family made it better. and they paid the transfer fee. I went to silent valley with my friend the overall experience wasn't too bad. The only problem was that I was treated badly because of my race. Last Halloween I went with my friend we went to get ice cream I walked up to the counter and asked for a milkshake the worker told me that she doesn't have time for that I found that weird but brushed it off. The next day I went mini golfing and someone from the pool called me a racial slur a blackie and a security guard came and got mad at us because we accidentally hit the ball out on the rocks i then told him about the racial slurs and he said it was not his problem. Later that night we went back and to the ice cream parlor there was a line everything seemed fine I was next I then walked up to the counter and looked at the menu for maybe a second or two and the cashier (a white lady) yells at me and says I need to know what I'm gonna order before I walk up. I'm a early teen and I was raised to never yell or talk back at a woman no matter what so I apologized for my milkshake and told my friends mom. But it was still fun besides that read more

A good place to stop by when you retire. I like that they have a family pool and an adult pool. The overall camp grounds are nice and the bathrooms are clean. One of the downsides are the trees that have some sort of fruit that looks like a small coconut that fall on your RV or Tent and from the mass infestation on squirrels that bite the coconuts off. I purchased my trailer in 2012. Upon purchase, I was given a stay at silent valley club. Didn't use it until like, 2 years later when I came across the pamphlet. We went up and gathered information. It was absolutely no pressure. Very pleasant. Membership was explained in great detail. I was surprised to hear that we weren't going to be out thousands of dollars, and for a resonable yearly membership fee, we would get 120 guaranteed days of camping and more. With this, I was able purchase a camping membership to RPI (Resort Properties International) as an ad-on. I'd been trying to find a way to get that membership for less than a few thousand dollars. Since then, we've camped at silent valley numerous times especially holidays (4th of July, Memorial day, Labor day & easter). We've invited friends & family members who've had a wonderful time. With Silent Valley, you can camp out in the middle of nowhere with no hookups or, you can be right in the middle of all the action. Near the town centers adult lodge with pool tables, games, etc, the bar, restaurant, general store, laundromat, craft barn, dog park, and main office. Even right by the fishing pond! *After being members 4-5 year members, we're still very pleased with the membership although there are a couple things that would be nice. *Some of the RV pads could be slightly enlarged and leveled. *There's a definite need for a comfort station in section F. *They need a bartender who has experienced drinking. I've never heard of a bartender who doesn't drink or hasn't had a drink or isn't willing to taste test his/her own cocktails. You've got to have a bartender who can make a drink and who knows how to rotate stock. On more than a few occasions, we were served beer from cans with passed use by dates. As well, the cocktails are ALWAYS FAR TOO STRONG. That's like pouring the clubs money down the drain. It's stealing. That's pretty bad. read more
