I had the Refresh which is a 45-minute Refresh session designed to pamper you from head to toe. Begin with a soothing herbal feet soak to relax and detoxify. You're first welcomed in with slippers for comfortability, herbal tea, snacks and a warm soak for your feet. It was an interesting experience saying the least. I enjoyed myself though it was very different than other spas I've been in. The staff is skilled and attentive, ensuring a relaxing experience. However, during my service, the ladies were talking, and while I couldn't understand what was being said, it seemed like it might have been training. I couldn't fully relax. I reserved the Reawaken deep scalp detox treatment. It did exactly that, very invigorating and a bit rough at times if you are not use to scrubbing. I don't think my hair has ever been this clean. I have very curly hair and unfortunately, recently my face broke out into eczema. I was trying to get a hold of them to see if they can make other arrangements for me. It was impossible to get through by phone for us, we tried many times and different days. However, if you send a text, you get a fast response. I didn't want anything done to my face and I wanted to make sure that I blow dry my own hair with my own products. All was accommodated very graciously. This small spa offers great service and is definitely worth the money. Our area was sectioned off in a corner of the salon. Not enough space for the ladies to walk in the middles of the beds. I went with a friend, so our arms that were in between us didn't get the same amount of attention than other arms did. Despite the compact space with many beds close together, the atmosphere remains clean and well-maintained. I don't have a picture of the salon from outside by the time we left it was dark. Don't be fooled by the lack of curb appeal. One last thing their website is not easy to maneuver. For example, when you read about the services and then you click "book now" another screen with another prices will pop up. Also, the pictures on their website is not the salon we went to which caused the uneasy feeling we had at first. The place was quiet and peaceful; I almost dozed off during the appointment but because I did not add-on a massage, there was too much going on to really fall asleep. I went there a few weeks back with my friend for a head spa which included full body massage. While my friend's service provider was really nice and she had a blast relaxing. I had a bad 1.5 hrs of experience. She had Joyle as her service provider. She was very warm and nice to both of us. I had Kayla for the hair spa and massage portion. These are the few reasons I did not enjoy the service too much. Her hands felt like sand paper so even the massage and all felt very rough on my skin. Also she kept going out of the room multiple times and that too for 5 minutes during the session( I counted atleast 3-4 times). I even told her to make sure the product she was using did not go into my eye but I think she doesn't understand English so I had to actually stop her 2ce to wipe my eyes. Han did my hair drying but it felt like she was doing me a favor. I asked her to. Use a different blow dryer a treatment and to just brush my hair once during the hair drying part. She Shanif that is not available. I asked her what does she mean. She said she will only dry my hair no styling. I said I do not need styling I just need to brush my hair once so that once it is dried I do not need to brush it. She said she cannot provide the brush and left my hair all frizzy. Imagine going g to a hair spa and leaving with the hair looking all frizzy, would that not ruin my mood. Plus she was so rude. She did not even give me the brush, so that I could brush it myself. Even Joyle saw that I felt upset/ uncomfortable. Hey atleast one of us enjoyed. If you go there book Joyle not Han or Kayla. read more

Not an SJ local* I was excited to see that SJ offered a few head spa locations. I should emphasize that this is not a full scalp therapy spa (consultation, reading, etc) but more just for general pampering. I do think though that this is very worthy of a spot since it offers a variety of spa options. My partner and I opted for the most basic head spa service- foot soak and hair wash treatment. This alone was 100000% worth the price!! They took us for a foot soak at the front for a couple of minutes. After, they dried our feet and took us into a room. We were told to strip upper body only and were provided with a towel and coverup (man and woman respectively). Afterwards, we were given some heat pads for our tummy and feet, a very deep hair wash (massage, scalp rub, massage, etc), a mini facial (note it's just washing your face and face mask so don't do this right before a night out), and mini massages. Once that was done, they took us to blow dry our hair and offered us complimentary water. 1000000% think this is a must visit. It's not your super fancy Korean/japanese hair spa but it is absolutely a value with amazing service and the pampered feel as you walk out the door. read more

I was warmly welcomed by the hospitable owner Kayla and then Thuy, the masseuse, who gently guided me into the comfortable massage therapy room as my anxiousness disappeared. I booked a half facial and half hair spa, originally opting for the 45-minute service priced at $53.50, as listed on their website. The receptionist confirmed this price. However, once I sat down and they began soaking my feet, a lady (who I assume was the manager) approached me, claiming the website prices were incorrect. She showed me a handwritten paper with updated prices and tried to convince me to go for the 1-hour and 15-minute service for $78, saying it was a better deal than the 45-minute option. I was hesitant, but two ladies surrounded me, pressuring me to upgrade, and I felt I had no choice but to agree. In the end, I paid $93.32, which I found ridiculously expensive. To make matters worse, my face started burning and tingling during the session. I had to ask them to remove the product because it was irritating my skin. Despite my concerns, the lady reassured me it was fine and suitable for sensitive skin. However, when I got home, my face was hot to the touch and still irritated. I called them about my concerns, and all they did was apologize and suggest I wait a few hours or see a doctor. I found it very unsettling that their only solution was for me to see a doctor. The manager called me back--who I believe was the one who pressured me into the $78 service--and it was very difficult for me to understand her as her accent was quite thick. I think she was trying to explain that they used high-end products that are supposedly good for sensitive skin. She kept insisting I see a doctor, which I found unhelpful and frustrating. Out of nowhere, to my shock, she started cussing in Vietnamese and hung up on me. I was extremely disappointed with how the manager handled the situation. A few days later, they continued to message me, informing me that their services were non-refundable because they were "discounted." I stopped replying because they were just getting me more flustered and they're just wasting my time. To keep your book of business, if I were the staff there and a client was in this situation, I would not complicate things further by arguing. Instead, I would offer them a refund and sincerely apologize to the client. FYI, it has been three days, and my skin is still irritated. So thank you! read more

We had a great experience at Silky Head Spa. We booked two days in advance and they were able to get my friends and I in together to take advantage of their current specials. We were greeted warmly with slippers, then a foot bath with lemon slices and rose petals. Then, we were taken to our individual massage rooms for our treatments. The specialist was very gentle and sweet. The head massage was very comfortable and my favorite part was a cooling substance (maybe like peppermint?) that made my scalp feel very tingly. My husband had decided to book an appointment here as a self care gift for my birthday. Unfortunately I'd have to leave a very honest review and apart from the staff and workers being really polite I still want to be able to put a review that'll be useful or helpful to those of you who may go here and those who owns the business. The inside is very nice, there's soothing music playing that set the tone and everyone seemed to be very happy to have you there. I had gotten the "Revive" package which is also the most expensive package. It's the full package. We started off with a feet soak which was nice, they give you something warm to drinks and there's snacks on the side. They had us take off our shoes/slippers with no where to really put them and change into these spa slippers. These ladies don't know English, so this whole experience was difficult simply because of the language barrier. I had so many questions considering this was my first time at a head spa. But rather than getting the answer and confusing her I decided to just deal with it and get through this massage. I was then lead to a room where we started off with a back massage, the massage was nice. After that she then started the facial, I had no idea what was happening, with no explanation of what was being put on my face, she then started to massage my face ... & it felt nice. We moved onto these gloves she would put onto my hands & feet. I don't think they understand how hot the liquid they put in is, it stung at first. This is suppose to relaxing? Now the head spa, we first rinsed my hair with a really refreshing shampoo, it was really nice and refreshing... like a strong eucalyptus scent, she was roughly scratching through my head with what I believe might have been a special comb and her hands (mind you I can't see what she is doing exactly) she's pressing down my head and scratching it all at the same time, it was actually pretty uncomfortable. We finally through all that, and then walked over to get my hair blow dried , and that was it. My hair didn't feel great honestly felt stripped. Overall, the experience wasn't great, and for the price (187+ dollars) that was given I felt wasn't worth it. Maybe it just wasn't for me. This head spa is different than a Korean head soak, so there aren't services that will scan your scalp and analyze your scalp condition. I came here last month for the Revive full service and was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable and relaxing the service was. I felt like Kayla, the owner, did a complete job with my hair washing, massage, and facial. The place is not super fancy but feels clean and cozy. The rooms are small but it was sufficient, and room temperature felt just right while changing and under the covers. Kayla made sure I felt comfortable with the cushions in the right places on the massage bed. I came with 2 friends and we got to sit in the 3, adjacent chairs for a warm foot soak in the lobby, before we began our services. There are 3 additional chairs in the back room. The one and only area of improvement I can think of is that the rooms have a gap between the ceiling and top of the door/wall, so you can hear sounds from the lobby and other rooms. As for the quality of the shampooing, I must say that while I've never done a professional shampooing before, besides hair washing after a haircut, I feel like a high quality job was done and the products must have helped my scalp and hair. I usually wash my hair every other day but also have a history of eczema/itchy scalp and sometimes clogged pores and hair follicles. After getting the service here, I think I didn't wash my hair for 5 days after and it still did not get oily, itchy, or smelly!!! Receptionists were friendly and quick to respond when we needed something. Some snacks and bottled water were provided. I wish I could come more often, but it's a bit far for me to visit regularly.
